Hello everyone... my very first post! Joined WW on Wednesday but I'm struggling to understand the programme Must have my Slimming World head on I guess as I've followed that on and off for many years Can anyone give me advice please!

Kim0612 Thu 29-Jun-17 10:39:45

Well done to the two of you, it certainly does work and I will keep going to keep on track, I don't want to be here again in 12 months time trying to lose it again. We are away next week so will try and be good'ish and then get back on it once we are back. I have felt a bit fed up this week before I would head to the biscuit tin but have not bothered as it would be undoing all the good work I have done so far.

LadyGracie Thu 29-Jun-17 12:19:14

I agree chelseababy and Kim0612 it does work. You just have to stick to it which isn't hard most of the time. Being weighed every week gives me the incentive to carry on as does reading people's comments on here.

I managed to go away to Devon a couple of weeks ago and not put on anything! I was carefully in meals I selected, and just this once went without a cream tea! We also walked more than usual so that helped as well. Enjoy your break Kim, I am still managing to lose a 1lb a week.

Kim0612 Fri 30-Jun-17 11:30:40

Hilltopgran, that's fantastic, I bet you were really chuffed.... and still losing every week!! It's a wonderful feeling being slimmer & all my clothes fitting better , I would hate to undo all the good work but will see how I fare while we are away.

Well I'm afraid I put on six pounds over the course of 3 days in Seattle and a 14 day cruise! Too much alcohol I think. Are you back from your holiday Kim?

LadyGracie Thu 20-Jul-17 08:22:14

I've had a long weekend away followed by a meal out for DD birthday, not going to weigh in this week. I had managed to get 1stone 2 1/2lb off but must have put some back on. I love food but must get back on the SW horse wink

Kim0612 Thu 20-Jul-17 10:58:25

Hello Ladies, yes I am back, this is my second week of being back, I missed one weigh in, when I went on Saturday I had lost 1lb and have got to my goal, now I am a Gold Member, so it's my first week of maintaining we will see what the scales say on Saturday. I need some new meal ideas as they have become boring so will scour the app and books for inspiration.

Kim0612 Thu 20-Jul-17 11:00:20

Chelsea that wasn't too bad of a gain for a cruise, my SIL puts 10lb on, if only it comes off as quick as it goes on.

LadyG I am with you too, I love food, this morning I have been craving a hot pork sandwich for some reason....

LadyGracie Thu 20-Jul-17 19:19:36

Kim I craved a Melton Mowbray pork pie, I had 3 while we were away, as well as a baguette and a custard tart!
I love hot pork sandwiches too, I must not think about them!!

Hilltopgran Thu 20-Jul-17 22:01:34

I met some ex colleagues from work for lunch this week, and received a compliment on weight loss, first person who has noticed! I am still managing a loss of 1lb a week, survived 2 weeks of family and grandchildren visiting without putting anything back on so for now its keep going, trying not to think about ginger cake I made DH for him and his walking mates tomorrow!!

Kim0612 Fri 21-Jul-17 10:52:24

LadyG I had pork pie while I was away too, why can't we go off stuff like that?

Hilltop - I bet you were chuffed at the compliment, it makes it all worth while and spurs you on. I love homemade cake, you can't beat it, coffee and walnut cake is my favourite, I must stop talking about it.

There are always going to be situations where we aren't always strict with ourselves but I think it does you good and at the end of the day, I try not to think of it as dieting just healthy eating which is what we should be doing,as they say, a little bit of what you fancy does you good!!

LadyGracie Fri 21-Jul-17 12:11:26

I love everything fattening, cakes, pastry, bread, chicken skin, fat on meat, chips etc etc.

I'm going to try making a fat less sponge with that awful really sweet sugar. I love making cakes, I love cooking, baking but most of all EATING!

Kim0612 Mon 24-Jul-17 08:51:04

You sound like my kind of friend, now there are just the two of us at home I don't tend to make cakes unless somebody is coming to help eat it all.

I lost another 2lb on Saturday, have upped my points again, although it's been a meal out on Saturday and Sunday, also round my Daughter's house tonight as it's my Grandson's 13th Birthday so will be eating again, back on it full time tomorrow again.

chelseababy Thu 10-Aug-17 09:35:13

Hello all, how are you getting on? I weighed in on Tuesday evening and am now back to what I was before my holiday. Another 4 pounds to goal, though I might change it when I get there.

Kim0612 Thu 10-Aug-17 10:45:40

Hello, I am maintaining now, so I suppose this is when the really hard work kicks in. You have done well chelsababy to lose your holiday weight, not much more to lose then to get to goal. Well done you!!

LadyGracie Thu 10-Aug-17 11:41:01

I'm stuck, I've been around the same weight for a month now. I've lost 1st 7lbs another 7lbs to go. DD says I need to eat a bit more, so I will!

Well done chelsea and Kim we're doing great!

chelseababy Thu 10-Aug-17 17:36:17

Lady Gracie I never understand about eating more - starvation mode is a myth so they say. Have you tried no count or trying some different recipes? Kim when you get to goal can you carry on losing a few more pounds but not increase by more than a certain amount?

Kim0612 Fri 11-Aug-17 11:15:00

My Leader asked me if I wanted to lose anymore weight which I don't, I have to increase my daily points by 2, I lost 2lb that week, added another 2 on and that week I stayed the same. I haven't been for 2 weeks and have relaxed a bit at the weekend with food but back on it on a Monday, will see if that has done any damage tomorrow.

LadyGracie Thu 07-Sept-17 10:47:25

I've done it, I've reached my Slimming World target, it feels like a bit of an anticlimax!

Kim0612 Thu 07-Sept-17 11:42:25

Congratulations LadyGracie, doesn't it feel good? I know how you are feeling and it's wonderful. Keep up all the good work that you have done!!

chelseababy Thu 07-Sept-17 12:54:22

Well done LadyGracie! I've now lost 13.5 pounds so 1/2 pound away from my initial target. WW seem to want me to lose a further 3 to be in their target area although I'm already ok according to the BMI. Looking forward to reaching target and determined this time not to let it creep back on again.

LadyGracie Thu 07-Sept-17 16:39:31

Thank you Kim and chelseababy you're almost there! It does feel good Kim and I'm determined to stay as I am, but to complete the new me I now need to do some exercise to firm up my stomach.

Kim0612 Thu 07-Sept-17 16:46:55

chelseababy you have done brilliant too, you have to be at the weight that suits you not them. It's my arms that could do with toning up, since I have lost weight I have gained this old lady arms, I suppose it's one of those things that comes with age anyway. I am also determined it's not going to creep on either, it's nice to finally feel comfortable in clothes, I am off on a shopping spree on Sunday, haven't got a lot left now and have given loads to somebody at WW too. Could really do with a make over.

Hilltopgran Thu 07-Sept-17 16:55:05

Congratulations LadyGracie, well done for getting there. I think it will take me another six months I am just about half way to my target, but still averaging a loss of over a lb a week.
