I have managed to loss weight (about a stone and half) drpped from 16 to 14 and keep it off by cutting out all refined sugar.
Typical day.
Breakfast - Porridge made with water 1/3 oat bran 2/3 oats, a spoonful if chia seeds, bit of fruit and a dollop of full fat yoghurt.
Lunch - some sort of salad with lean meat or tinned sardines left overs from day before.
Dinner - Variety of dishes cooked from scratch, vegetables, fish/meat. Apple for dessert
No snacks or biscuits. Keep bread intake low Tea, coffee made with semi skimmed milk, water. Occasional gin and tonic.
Occasional lapse at weekends but work on 80:20 basis.
Secret for me is making each meal as special as possible with lots of flavour from herbs/spices, nice veg.
Check food labels, baked beans tinned tomatoes and low fat usually have higher sugar content.
Exercise just walking.
