Moderate March

This is the follow-on thread to Frugal February. It doesn’t really matter what we call it though.

Just keeping us all on track. Welcome back those who made it through last month and either lost weight/inches or at least didn’t put any on ??

Continuing with the idea that this isn’t about drastic weight loss but slow and steady life-style change. And support for each other.

For newcomers who might like to jump on, this isn’t advocating any particular diet or eating regime. There’s no ‘one size fits all’ and everyone really knows what works best for them if they are being truly honest.

Thought if we tackle it a month at a time it would seem more manageable. So good luck Moderators.

I'm still in a mess. Having trouble locking my front door at the moment; one minute it locks then it sticks. Then the S.O. who's in Northumberland at the moment, phoned this morning to say the dog was ill. Urine infection [but, given that she's getting old and has other problems, I'm thinking it could be the start of kidney failure]. Our Easter family holiday looks as if we might be building snowmen instead of sandcastles. And my lousy cold seems to be getting worse. I think the weight has started to creep back on.

Tegan - I hope things pick up soon for you. Sounds like you need comfort food not moderate March. flowers

I don't usually touch alcohol; but I must admit to have been having a glug of whiskey in milk at nightime for the past couple of weeks blush....

Panic over from previous page's post. I was 1 lb lighter this morning, can I lose my final 3 lbs before Easter Sunday?? But I'm still pot-bellied shock

I hope you are feeling ok Tegan. It's been a long cold winter, and I think we all need some sun for our health and well being.

I didn't get weighed last Thursday as my tummy was still playing up (bread). I've been trying SW recipes like quiche with no pastry etc. It's OK, just like a frittata really.

The good thing is I can suddenly feel a tiny bit thinner. My jeans and even a coat are looser on the bottom. Fingers crossed I get to first stone off this weigh day.

Cold bug has gone but the S.O. bought in a M&S lasagne followed by chocolate pudding today; hope to have a healthier day tomorrow......

Tegan2: Sounds delicious! Can't wait for Easter Day and my wine and chocolate!

It's been 61 days since I started and have stuck at the same weight for weeks - initially lost 8lbs but nothing else. I am very careful and don't eat between 6pm and 12 midday next day. The meals I eat are not excessive, having been a yo yo dieter all my life I know what to eat when dieting but now I am often hungry but keep going with the eating plan. How can I lose the last 3-4 lbs ?

Haven’t been there on for a while, but want to congratulate all those who’ve succeeded and commiserate with those who haven’t.

I’ve got to where I want to be (BMI 24.9) so thanks for the support and ideas. I won’t be starting an April thread but that’s always something others can do.

I’ll still pop into GN now and again.

Here’s wishing you all a very Happy Easter ? ? ?

It's difficult cutting back when the whole family are here; I'll get back on track next week when I go home....

Grandmama Mon 02-Apr-18 18:39:23

Started properly on 11 March. By yesterday, Sunday 1 April, I had lost 6 1/2 lbs and 6 1/2 inches over bust, ribs, waist, hips and thighs. But one lb heavier this morning, Monday, thanks to 2 pieces of my birthday cake (very rich) and chocolate and a glass of bubbly. After this week I think I'll do the 5:2 diet rather than deprive myself all the time as I have been doing and feeling hungry. Quite pleased with myself but didn't shift my final 2 lbs. Still pot bellied!

PS: BMI 21.5, right in the middle of healthy weight.

Not getting any exercise and the family are cooking large meals each night. The S.O is getting a M&S curry for everyone tomorrow and we're eating out on Wednesday. If I eat the same as everyone else my weight goes through the roof. Need to get back home and start again....
