I’m a pear !

I have returned to my own healthy eating plan as I need to lose a stone. I am pear shaped with a small bust, reasonable waist and overlarge hips.

On reading the ever sensible Dr Scurr in the DM this morning I discovered a healthy waist size is 31 ins for women and 37 ins for men. I rather smugly measured myself expecting a pat on the back only to find I am 5 ins over the recommended size ?

Onward and upward or preferably downward.

Well done Shirley and Billy from me too!
I am a bit happier today after my Sunday morning weigh-in as I lost 1.4lbs. I am somewhat confused though as during this past week I have gone slightly astray at times and my heart hasn't been in it to be honest. hmm
I am now 180.2lbs so again nearing the elusive weight that starts 17...lbs hmm Hopefully the 17 start will appear next Sunday and stay rather than disappear again as it has in the past (she says hopefully)!
There doesn't seem to be any news of Panache so prayers for her will continue, and good luck to all of us this coming week in whatever direction we wish to go!

We do miss Panache and hope for good news soon. ??

Thanks guys...so far so good...i find weekends are the worst for food and drink intake but i have behaved lol...

Shirleyw I try to be good all week but I now call Sunday (which is my weigh in day) sin-day!
When I am 'on track' (I am a bit off the rails at the moment as you will have seen by my posts) I find that I can be stronger willed during the week knowing that I can have some treats on Sunday. I have chocolate or a dessert etc. on Sunday but then have all the week ahead to be good before my next weigh in.
Being 'good' can be very boring and soul destroying if we get disappointing results which makes it easy to give up but personally I find sin-days help!
It may not be for everyone though - I appreciate that smile Good luck!

Weigh in day and I've lost another 1lb. Weight Watchers keep upping my fit points target because at this time of the year (weather permitting) I do at least four hours gardening every day.

I may have to re-set the target when winter arrives but at the moment it means I can't put any weight back on so long as I stick to the daily food points allowance which I find quite generous.

I just love Weight Watchers online. grin

Keep going everyone.

Onwards and downwards.

After seeing the can you lose weight over 65 thread (No, I can’t), I’ve just been reading a few pages of this thread to stop me nibbling this evening. I’ve spent the day helping prepare DS’s garden for a new lawn so I have high hopes after all those burnt calories.

(I hope Panache recovers enough to get back home soon)

NanKate Tue 11-Sept-18 10:27:51

Nfk clearly your hungry time is the evening could you be a bit stricter in the day so enabling yourself extra food in the evening?

If I start to want food after 6.30pm I either have a coffee and one low cal biscuit, or I chop up an apple or satsuma and eat it bit by bit.

We are all different and our hunger patterns are too, but as long as we keep encouraging each other with a bit of luck we should go down more than up.

Came on here after reading the posts on the Can you lose weight over 65 thread. I know you can 'cos I did it at 69/70 but put it all back. Hoping all the advice and support on here will motivate me to get back on track. Can I lose the first stone by Christmas? Here's hoping.

Billybob4491 Tue 11-Sept-18 17:35:59

Go for it Ellie you have proved you can do it, good luck.

NfkDumpling Tue 11-Sept-18 17:48:09

I fear any time I relax with nothing to do is my hungry time Nan! So I never just sit or sit and watch tv. Usually I knit, do puzzles, dabble in water colours or read a book if I’m sitting down at any time. Anything to keep my brain busy!

I have discovered sugar free mint humbugs from a company called Gourmet sourced through a Wyevale Garden Centre. They are yummie Nfk perhaps worth a try.

News of our friend Panache. She is in hospital on strong medication with Mr P at her side. She is very poorly. Let us send her virtual healing/hugs. Miss your support Panache on this thread.

NfkDumpling Tue 11-Sept-18 21:02:30

I shall look for those humbugs Nan. I love peppermint.

Sending positive vibes and gentle (((hugs))) to Panache and Mr P too.

Fennel Tue 11-Sept-18 21:56:38

And me - hoping for better news soon, Panache.

fourormore Wed 12-Sept-18 14:54:20

Prayers will continue for Panache and also Mr P as it is a hard time for him too. Bless her she has been trying so hard to put on weight and life is so unfair. flowersflowersflowers

Right fed up as I got weighed yesterday and stayed the same, I'm on SW so I probably eaten too many free foods, I only been having a few Syns , I don't even have half of 15 syncs most days....think I will cut out the basic carb potato .

All my best to Panache

Billybob4491 Thu 13-Sept-18 07:00:08

Shirley, think I am in the same situation as yourself. Weigh in tomorrow SW week 5, I follow the eating plan religiously, have few syns, but for all my efforts the scales are stubbornly stuck on the same weight! Have increased my exercise as well. See what tomorrow brings.

Have a look at this, folks. It might cheer you up.

Shirleyw Thu 13-Sept-18 21:01:52

Looking forward to the 'whoosh' Merlot lol.

Good luck with the weighin tomorrow BillyBob.....

NfkDumpling Fri 14-Sept-18 07:09:22

With the extra excercise this week (lawn construction), I’d lost a couple of pounds, but Wednesday evening we were just too tired and bought fish and chips. In my case scampi and we shared a child’s portion of chips. Three pounds on overnight. After all my walking and salads yesterday I’m hoping for the “Whoosh” when I weigh in this morning!

NanKate Fri 14-Sept-18 07:56:17

Fingers crossed for you Nfk

fourormore Sun 16-Sept-18 16:19:40

Not a good week as lots of times when somewhat naughty food was more available and tempting than 'sensible' food! Resistance is futile at times like that hmm
Having said that I only put on 0.2 of a pound which basically is a hiccup hopefully. This coming week looks only slightly better but fingers crossed that the 'whoosh' will happen soon!
Good luck everyone as we start another week and continuing best wishes to Panache and Mr P flowers

NfkDumpling Sun 16-Sept-18 16:42:56

Still waiting for the ‘Whoosh’! I have lost a pound of what I put on stuffing scampi and chips. Lots of gardening again today. Moving plants around and digging. I think all the fat must be turning into heavy muscle!

merlotgran Sun 16-Sept-18 17:57:10

I thinks that's what's been happening to me, Nfk. It's a busy time of year in the garden and I know it must be doing me good because I can feel tummy muscles tightening and the tops of my legs are looking slimmer.

The only whooshing I seem to be doing though is at 4am. hmm

NfkDumpling Sun 16-Sept-18 18:50:52

grin

merlotgran Mon 17-Sept-18 09:54:21

I got on the scales this morning expecting to be disappointed because I've indulged a bit over the weekend but I must have had a mini-whoosh because I've lost 2lbs since Friday!

It must be the gardening wot dunnit.

That's a total of 1st. 8oz in just under five months. Slow but sure.

Stick at it, folks. Onwards an downwards. grin
