Oh no. That happened to us when we were moving here Babs it's very frustrating isn't it because it only needs one and entire chain falls apart .

Our buyers buyer is in rented accommodation and as we've already bought our lodge, I joked with our buyers who are desperate to get in here that if anything goes wrong, it will be their fault . That was after I'd told them I'd changed my mind.

Just got back after another hectic day. Mr. S. kept bringing in boxes and all I could think was 'where is everything going to go' but all sorted so we will be moving in tomorrow.

There's a bottle of champagne in the wine cooler, all ready and waiting. Can't quite believe what we've managed to accomplish and that this time tomorrow we'll be in our new home .

We will be coming back to take the last bits to the dump and for my friend's brother's things to be collected for storage but tonight is our last night here.

Babs I am sorry your sale has fallen through . It happened to me twice first time day of exchange of contracts my buyer moved into rented accommodation and didn't tell her solicitor until 3 days later when she finally answered her phone. And the second time 4 days before exchange of contracts . She just changed her mind. Luckily on both occasions the sellers of my bungalow kept it for me as the daughter said her mom would want me to have it.

So instead of being here September 2018 I finally made it here August 2019. And love it here and will never move again . You will get another buyer . It's about time they made it so once the survey is done the exchange of contracts is done then if the buyer is happy with the outcome of the survey. And if they try to back out they have to pay all your solicitor , estate agent and any other fees you need paying .

I know when my best friend brought a home in France it all had to be done within 4 weeks from when their offer was accepted. But this was 20 years ago. But I don't expect it to have changed much.

@Whiff, is a set back, now the estate agents will put the property we wanted back on the market and proceed with more viewings.
It is what it is. And looking after my grandson today who went through so much at GOSH recently, he had major surgery on his skull to separate the plates and allow the brain to grow, has just made me get it all in perspective. He will need more surgery to remove springs put into his head to allow the plates to move into place, and then needs check ups until 8 years old, but his progress is good, he is just a bubbly chuckly 6 month old. Thank goodness. X

Oh dear Smiles re smelly retrieve of money bag!

Had a fantastic day yesterday, left home at 8.20am, not back till 9.30pm, we did 17,050 steps!

Unfortunately, saw a young women get her mobile snatched by bike rider. We did go to her, but nothing can be done, she just seemed to accept it and just said Lesson learned

Babs dearer me, your poor GS! good to hear he is doing well now.

Looking forward to hearing from Smiles and how their moving in day went.

Babs, how wonderful your little grandson is, been through so much at such a tender age and yet a happy little baby. Wish him a successful recovery but know it takes time.

Morning everyone.

I can't put into words how great it is to be here at last. I can hardly believe that we managed to empty the house in only two months, bearing in mind how big it is and how much we'd accumulated over 44 years of marriage .

We even managed to have a BBQ Thursday evening but that's as far as our celebrations went because I was in bed by 9.30 with a terrible headache and feeling quite unwell.

When we used to arrive at our villa in Florida because of jet lag, we would be fine and then all of a sudden feel as if we'd hit a brick wall, and that was how I felt Thursday evening. It's odd how sometimes a release of tension can make you feel ill .

How worrying for you all Babs, such major surgery at such a tender age. It's good to know that he's doing well bless him .

It was a relief to find the bag of money Yogin, I went into a blind panic and couldn't even remember seeing it that day. I was just glad I didn't have to dig too deep for too long into a smelly bag of rubbish.

It's absolutely the last move Allsorts and that's without the additional stress of having to wait for a completion date, and move out of one place and into another on the same day.

Worked out how to use the washing machine and microwave but struggling to select the program I want on the dishwasher, so twice have ended up with a ridiculously long one . The instruction manual is useless so we'll go online and see if we can get some clearer instructions.

Morning everyone and thank you all for your good wishes.

It's a beautiful morning here, not a cloud in the sky and there are already people out on the golf course.

Had a lovely meal at what will be our regular Italian last night and we bumped into two of our new neighbours who we've really hit it off with .

Looking forward to a walk around the site this afternoon with the dogs to get out bearings after we've been to a quaint church in the next village this morning.

Emotional morning. I went on the bus to town and went to the Salvation army church service. My mum was affiliated to the army when I was a child. She never fully joined because she wouldn't sign the pledge not to drink. She liked her nips of cherry brandy ,even telling a district nurse in her latter years that it was one of her 5 fruits a day !
The music of the brass band ,the singing and the genuine kindness of people had me in floods of tears by the end of the service.
The lady captain sat down at the end over a cup of tea we talked over all the stresses I am facing. Abuse from eldest daughter,younger daughter waiting for surgery to remove an ovarian teratoma and my deteriorating state of health. She was amazing and very kind.
I've never been too sure of my religious beliefs. My father was from a Jewish family who had renounced faith due to the racists in East London in the 1930s. As I said my mum was a salvationist who would help and feed anyone in need on our rough council estate. But today I felt spiritual and by the time I got home I felt calmer and aware of an acceptance that I cannot change everything.

My parents (non religious) always supported the Sally Army. My mum was a “child of the blitz” and lost her dad and home in one of the hits on that area.

The SA were the ones there to help, so they supported them, with donations, until they died.

I’ve carried on with that, although I follow no faith. Thry just seem like good people.🙂
