Whiff I seriously need a piece of your cheesecake after so many stodgy cakes and choccies a nice light cheesecake sounds so lovely and it looks gorgeous 😃
Babs it's anything but light or diet friendly. All full fat 🤣
I’d still love it. Made a tiramisu for NY, not that we are doing anything. I hate NY. Glad Yogi is making the most of it just hoping fireworks round here aren’t cancelled due to bad weather but weather looks ok right now.
We will have a nice take out followed by tiramisu and then to bed before midnight.
It isn’t Xmas that hits us hard but NY, so many people lost to us over the years.
Hope everyone else enjoys it though 👍
As we're going to a NYE party tonight, we took all the decs down today and I must say as much as I love them, it's good to get back to normal.
I hope you all enjoy this evening, whatever you're doing and 'A Happy New Year' to you all.
It's been another great year on this thread with so much support, care and understanding so thank you all and let's look forward to more of the same in 2025 xx
Happy new year everyone health and happiness to you all. And may you achieve everything you want in 2025
Smiles hope you and Mr S had a wonderful time at the news years eve party full of laughter, singing and dancing .
Have a lovely 6 hours with my friends food was a hit and glad to say they took the leftovers home no naughty food in my home so back to my normal eating routine. And hopefully a lighter me by the time I go away in May.
Life getting back to normal next week sit fit Monday , blood test on the 10th ,craft group starts on the 15th. The podiatrist coming Friday morning. Looking forward to seeing Ruby Colley on the 3rd February at the music room and if my hi fidelity ear plugs work to cut down extra noise so I can hear the music without setting my startle off . Then going to see full orchestra at the Royal Phil later in the year.
Thanks to the rain only one lot of fireworks went off at 5.30 . One of my friends closed my curtains until I could move . First time they had seen my reaction but I always feel at ease in their company.
Tree and decorations come down today so everything will be back to normal. And need to change my ring tone on my door bell as it's set to a Christmas tune.
Babs my husband favourite desert was tiramisu at our favourite Italian restaurant. They had beautiful white table clothes. My son decided to have it one time and for some odd reason he blew on it chocolate powder almost over this beautiful white table cloth. But the owners didn't say a think . Still remember the look of surprise on his face when he did it my husband was in stitches but my daughter gave him a look of disgust and remember saying why the hell did you do that . Still remember his reply he thought it was hot 🤦he knew it had come out the chiller cabinet. At least I can remember happier times when we where a family of 4 .
Hopefully old and new friends find there way here and get the help and support they need . 💐🥂
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Happy New Year.everyone. My long post disappeared when I pressed preview. Exhausted as the gales here threw our recycling bins down the road several times.
Lets hope we all have a good year and the trolls keep away and get help.
Morning everyone and a very 'Happy New Year' to you all
.
We had a great time thanks Whiff and were exhausted when we got in at 1.00 am with all the dancing, singing and fun. Can't remember the last time we had such a great start to a new year, certainly not since we were estranged.
That is so annoying isn't Allsorts and usually happens when the post was a long one. The weather here wasn't nearly as bad as the forecast thank goodness. I hope the contents of your recycle bins didn't spill out all over the place.
Happy hopeful New Year everyone.
We’ve had storms here overnight, dramatic wind screaming through gaps in the double glazing.
Whiff has all your lovely cheesecake gone? It looks gorgeous.
Heard and saw the fireworks last night, glad they didn’t call it off Yogi, friends invited us but we didn’t fancy braving the weather, hope you had a good time.
V string winds overnight. But hopefully will die down today.
Glad you had a great time at your NYE party Smiles, hope you both misbehaved 😉
I have had posts disappear Allsorts and can never be bothered to repost it all, annoying.
Sparkly I think we could all do with a piece of Whiffs cheesecake 😋
Here’s to a year when we all make the most of each and every day, even if we just prefer to sit and relax, whatever floats our boat, here’s to plenty of it 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️
Allsorts hope you didn't hurt yourself chasing after your bin. Posts of mine are always disappearing or my finger hits post before I am ready and nonsense appears 🤦.
Smiles glad you and Mr S had such a great time last night . Reinforced you made the right decision to move there .
SparklyGrandma my friends took the left over cheesecake which was over half of it and 2 portions of lasagne had the last bit for my dinner . I have no naughty treats left thank goodness. Back to my normal eating routine. Lost the art of doing pretty but still do tasty .
Babs hope you get to move early this year . Hell hope I remember correctly and your house is on the market. 🤷. I am looking forward to doing more things this year and experiencing new things. Got to make the most of it before my body stops me . But won't give in without a fight🤣.
Happy to get back to my old routine as I find my life works better that way. Take care all . 💞
Happy New Year to one and all! May it be healthy and happy!
This is the year that I will be happy with myself. It takes time to get here.
Allsorts
This is the year that I will be happy with myself. It takes time to get here.
Yes to that Allsorts. 👍❤️🌺
Morning all
Going to slowly start taking deco down today and tomorrow, will have to wait till w/e to take down outside lights as need my son's long arms and legs
. Still have presents under the tree; my sister & b.i.l & my friend who was unwell and couldn't come round when planned to.
Have my class tonight, then Tesco on way home, so back to normal. Although GD's sleeping over Sun-Mon, if my 1-2-1 doesn't want to start back, I'll just have my evening class to do, which will fit better as DD not picking them up till late afternoon. If I have 1-2-1 I need to start putting class and physcially going through at around 3.30 & leave by 5pm, so difficult to do with GDs here.
Looks a bit better today out there, I was almost swepped off my feet yesterday, when walking Joey in the park, not sorry to get back home in one piece!
We had a lovely NYE. Panto was fun, fireworks after were good, take-away eatten with some glasses of Prosecco; lovely. DD&GDs left by 10pm, so cleared up and off to bed by 10.30.
Woken at midnight by fireworks, over the road's were brilliant!
Watched the London fireworks at lunch time the next day, that I had recorded. I have been up on The Thames to watch, we took a bottle of champagne and snacks, it was great! Didn't have to pay then, as you do now. Another time, watched from Greenwich, the millennium, so that was great fun too.
So glad you enjoyed the panto and fireworks Yogi. You are a brave soul to take Joey out in that awful weather we hunkered down with leftover choccies and rubbish on the telly. Enjoyed it though. 😋
We are back to normal as well. Trees gone, decs gone, family gone, and are not one bit sad, are enjoying the calm. We had melodramatics over Xmas about who scoffed the last of my double choc fudge cake and ginger lemon cake. Was like Gavin and Stacey. Turns out my DH had given it to the old boy next door who was alone over Xmas. So that nipped it in the bud. The poor dears could only console themselves with a huge sherry trifle or Eton mess.
We all laughed about it later, another silly Xmas memory.
Sounds like you are also glad to get back to normal Whiff.
So here’s to getting back to it.
Take care all 🌺🙏🏾
Yoga and Babs,,your lives are full of family and busy over the Christmas period,m as mine used to be. I have the one day with mine as the grandchildren have grown up. find the long break difficult so glad when things back to normal and am busy.
This year I didn't cry over my daughter, that seems another life now but I watched an awful lot of tv and read a lot of books. Just watched the last Vera though and cried at that. She fund look very ok'd to be playing tge kart but ice really enjoyed term all, a lot of joy in the beautiful scenery up there.
Like you Allsorts I didn't shed a tear this Christmas, I just focused on the lovely people around me, yes at times it was difficult, but its now passed.
Some of Veras last filming was in my area and I went and watched it in action, fascinating how they work .
Babs & Birdie* me too re not shedding a tear. I still put a little handmade felt Xmas tree on our tree, made by my estD, it turned the other way once I'd placed it on, so I left it like that, thought it fitting
Talking of trees, guess what I bought yesterday... an artificial Xmas tree for next year! It will be a first as I've always preferred real. It's 6ft 5inch Alpine luxury tree and was £42 off the original price. Well, I thought if I don't like it I can always go and buy a real one. But I'm hoping it will look nice in the corner, will take up less space ad of course no mess.
Took all my deco down yesterday, got in a big tangel with the tree lights, 5 sets!. I'm always careful not to tangel them up and store them in separate bags, but they just seemed to fall of the tree this year, instead of stopping them, I let them go, never do that again
Blooming cold this morning, but very sunny
, so off for a walk with Joey, back to clean & tidy.
Have a nice day everyone xx
Sorry Allsorts you too in above post xxx
I echo what you said Allsorts -
‘This year I didn't cry over my daughter, that seems another life now’
I did shed a tear but that was my fault, from now on am not going to mark birthdays or Xmas for my EAC and GCs. It is another life I am remembering not the life we live now.
Full speed ahead this year with our move which is not happening but we need to get more proactive. Am not imagining this year will be easier, one SiL loses his job in March and they are the parents with a little boy still awaiting surgery to remove springs from his skull. And the daughter who miscarried is determined to try again but she has a history of miscarriage so will be an anxious year for them.
But that’s life and there will good stuff going on as well, am in fact just looking forward to more long walks as the weather improves.
Spring is my favourite time of year.
First daffs should come up in Feb.
Have a good day all 🙏🏾❤️❤️
