You look like the cat that got the cream, Chewbacca.

Chewbacca Wed 05-Jan-22 23:34:25

Kind of you to notice SueD but I'm more than a one trick pony. wink

SueDonim Thu 06-Jan-22 00:07:40

I can’t stay away from this thread, Chewbacca. I feel like a dog with a bone. ?

Namsnanny Thu 06-Jan-22 00:21:28

Thats because you have a memory like an elephant for idioms SueDonim grin

Chewbacca Thu 06-Jan-22 00:30:18

Ooooh Namsnanny that'll put the cat amongst the pigeons!

Namsnanny Thu 06-Jan-22 00:57:07

Now hold your horses Chewbacca!

No elephants here, I just keep on until I get my own way ???

Actually, we're both stubborn!
It took years to get him to put the toilet seat down.

lemongrove Thu 06-Jan-22 14:25:37

It took me years to get DH trained to not put the toilet lid down.....especially during the night when rushing in there in the half dark.?
Elephants come in 50 shades of grey and pack their own trunks.

And are often called Nellie.

I had 3 cats in one room earlier - that doesn't happen often in this house.

NfkDumpling Thu 06-Jan-22 15:00:07

Are they elephant's eggs by the coffee table Kitty?

JaneJudge Thu 06-Jan-22 15:00:19

earlier a young man bent over to pick up their phone off my drive and their whole bottom came out of their trousers

kittylester Thu 06-Jan-22 15:35:20

Yep,*nfk*, but there isn't an elephant to sit on them. Anyone got a spare elephant in their room?

Calistemon Thu 06-Jan-22 15:37:09

I have some elephants in the attic.
They may have been breeding up there.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 06-Jan-22 15:38:18

Watch your ceilings Calistemon and check your insurance!

Calistemon Thu 06-Jan-22 15:51:00

???????

That must be what the creaking is, coming from the attic at night

VioletSky Thu 06-Jan-22 15:59:42

Are you the OP whose husband has been sitting on all the money?

Do you mean that he has finally addressed the issue with you?

How did that go?

AreWeThereYet Thu 06-Jan-22 16:14:20

kittylester A kind thought but I'm not sure I want a brass and wood kiwi either ?

Hetty58 That's something I have thought of a number of times! I did originally think it would probably get broken by accident at some stage, but we don't seem to break things. But it's moving ever closer to the door - maybe one day when we're going far from home I'll take it with me and drop it into a charity shop. I would hate to give to a charity shop, and my friend buy it to replace the one I broke ?

I do love elephants though.

Madgran77 Thu 06-Jan-22 16:17:51

Chewbacca

I'm glad I haven't got an elephant in the room. That damned cat makes a big enough mess.....

*I have been giggling about this ever since I read it Chewbacca. Did me the world of good! smile

crazyH Thu 06-Jan-22 16:33:48

Elephant in my room ..

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 06-Jan-22 16:48:36

I have a hippo (china) in the downstairs loo. No elephant though.

Judy54 Thu 06-Jan-22 16:48:52

Lots of other things in my room but never elephants. Would not have room for one they do take up a lot of space and would probably eat me out of house and home too! However would make an exception for your lovely elephant crazyH

Gajahgran Thu 06-Jan-22 17:53:19

What a beautiful elephant crazyH. Here are 2 of my elephants.

She won't reply so rather than leave you hanging VS:

Yes. (But she owns the house.)

Possibly, or judging by the post if to be believed, she forced it.

She's still live, don't know about him.
