We shall be having lunch at approx 2pm.
We were at Church this morning, and as I wasn't sure when we would be home, I cooked the turkey breast yesterday evening. So will have it cold, with lots of freshly cooked veg, and gravy, lovely.
I forgot to put the christmas pudding in the slow cooker, so we shall have trifle.
DH is ' resting his eyes' at the moment. He hasn't been really well for over a week now, and didn't sleep well last night.
Enjoy your meals everybody, Bon apetit!

It'll be my first Christmas dinner in three years.

We are still cooking! All our plans went out the window because my poor little dog, Charlie, is quite ill. We should have travelled to Bristol but he is in hospital having had surgery, poor little guy. We might be eating about 4.30pm.

Our "Christmas" dinner will be in about 15 minutes. When I got up this morning DH had prepared potatoes cauliflower and sprouts so that was the veggies decided on. He was supposed to get beef and gammon out of the freezer on Monday but decided to buy steak instead. What steak it is I don't know. The word isnt in any of our PT dictionaries or any translators on Google. So I am treating it as frying steak and will flash fry it in a few minutes. The other large slice will be made into a casserole tomorrow.

Christmas Eve is the big day here, so our Christmas dinner was at 7.30 pm yesterday.

Today will be much more casual.

Our dinner started around 1:30 today. This was one of the dinners for people who would otherwise be alone, and this particular one caters for 500 guests. I went directly from morning church.

We ate at about 2.30/3. By this point, darling grandson was past being hungry and chucked his veg around, wingeing until he got a yorkshire pudding. THEN he was happy.

We sat down at 2 and finished at 4:30. A lovely long, slow lunch. And, wonder of wonders, I didn't forget anything. Not the PiBs, or the brandy butter. A lovely relaxed meal. And DDs tomorrow ??

We ate our vegetarian roast about 1.30 in a motorhome parked on a clifftop overlooking beautiful Torbay in bright sunshine.
It was glorious.
