Sunday - the 7th of January 2024 ..

Today we all went out for a simply lunch ..

Lunch - roast beef, roast potatoes, 4 vegetables, stuff and Yorkshire puddings.
Tea - fresh fruit salad, meringue

Chicken casserole in slow cooker, with dumplings, small roasties & broccoli.

Roasted turkey breast, roast potatoes and parsnips, Swede, sprouts and cauliflower.

Cottage pie.

Just finished roast vegetables , mushrooms , potatoes and beef in gravy ... and if i do say so myself, it was 😋 .

Back to the Madrid Capital mid morning today. And the twins, their husbands, the 3 grandchildren, The French Bull and the Dalmation shall be heading home on Wednesday morning.

Today we had gone for lunch out ..

Broccoli carrot corn chowder, bread/hummus, fruit salad. No pud, still 1 lb to lose.

Almette Pasta but couldnt get Almette so used a mixture of garlic and herb cream cheese and creme fraiche instead for the sauce. Added loads of extra chopped vegs as well

@FrenchGalinSpain - with respect, how does posting stock images of shops/restaurants/dishes answer the question of the thread title which is “What are you having for dinner ” ?

I've seen a picture of that on Amazon!

Well, we had a chicken and marmalade recipe out of the waitrose magazine. It was really nice but the 🥦 cooked with it wasn't,'t.

It was cauliflower and broccoli cheese, with jacket potatoes.

Reading this thread has just confirmed for me that I have no cooking skills whatsoever 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️…🙃

What was wrong with the broccoli, kitty?

Roast beef, roast and mashed potatoes, carrots, broccoli, peas, parsnips, green beans, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. Husband's cooking.

Turkey heated through with gravy, leftover from Sunday, new potatoes, sprouts, swede, cailiflower and kale.

Last night I made a quite mild prawn and sweet potato curry. We had it with naan bread (bought, just needed 3 minutes in the oven).

Tonight breaded fillets of sole, potatoes dauphinoise and peas.

Comfort food tonight - sausage and mash with ? (not sure yet).

I've just got a new Ninja and am trying out the various functions, today is my second attempt with "Steam/airfry". We're having chicken thighs with braised sliced onions and red pepper, served with soft corn tortillas and guacamole. I'm using chipotle chilli powder and cumin, with Mexican oregano in the steaming water. Sadly I've never managed to make a decent tortilla so these will be good bought ones made by Cool Chile.

It was was tenderstem - blanched then cooked in the oven in the same tray as the chicken. It was very chewy.

I will do the chicken again and cook the veg separately.

Tonight, fritatta with potatoes, onions, peppers and mushrooms
with some gruyere on top and grilled. With salad - despite the cold.

I'll remember that kitty. Tenderstem can be unpredictable.
