I wish I was bored with eating!
Bit of a change from the days when I was a size 10 max and found almost any normal-sized plate of food too much. Just had a very small appetite - alas no longer….

Does anyone else get bored with eating or is it just me??
I cooked dinner tonight, normally my favourite, and just picked at it and ended up throwing it away.
This isn’t a new thing.
I find food boring and is just something I have to do.

Seriously, Mel, if you are bored with eating, why don't you just not eat until hunger makes you interested in it again. 🤷🏻♀️
As my mum would have said: this sounds like a problem of affluence and abundance.
I wish I could stop eating. Need to start my diet after Easter and all these chocolate eggs are gone.
I’m never bored with eating, though I don’t really enjoy cooking these days. I only cook as much as we want. Some days we want less than others, and I cater accordingly. Perhaps you’re just not preparing really tasty food?
The danger I see with those posting that they just do not fancy food, is that, if eating the way they describe, they are not eating a healthy well balanced diet - and that is going to feed into their disinclination to eat because they will start to feel the effects of beinf malnourished (not under nourished, although that could be a problem).
There is something to be said for planning meals a week at a time, that way you do not need to think about food before you prepare it. meal plans do not need to be stuck to rigidly. But they cut out the 'what do I fancy eating, Nothing much'. It is 'what is for lunch today? Chcken casserole. Right I will get out the chcken pieces assemble it and put it in the oven.
I agree MOnica - there are many days when I would be happy with a cheese a sandwich but the plan says something else and I have already done the shopping for it so whatever is on the plan is what arrives on the table - and I usually enjoy it.
I did get bored with eating a while ago but have been following Michael Moseley's intermittent fasting of late. I therefore don't eat until lunchtime each day, by which time I am certainly ready to enjoy a light meal.
If I lived by myself I would have a main meal at lunch time and a light supper, but our routine has always been to have a main meal in the evening. It is earlier now though, so all finished by 7 at the latest.
When I had the husband, he would always want meat and two veg for every meal, he didn’t enjoy fish. Now I am alone, I am making up for lost time and usually eat fish and a salad for most meals, don’t think I’ll ever get bored of fish! (Plus it’s quick to pan fry, so uses less energy to cook!)
I still enjoy eating and cooking but I do find my sense of taste is not so good so I use more herbs and spices to liven things up a bit. However, I'm not sure how much I'd cook if I was on my own atm I cook everything from scratch but on the rare occasions OH isn't here for a meal I'll have crackers, cheese and fruit with a glass of wine followed by some dark chocolate as I never feel it's worth cooking for one.
Exactly Monica. I find any bread, apart from the sour dough that I buy at a mouth-watering cost from an artisan bakers, just chews to a horrible sticky paste that I cannot swallow. The baker does not have a slicing machine but I find it keeps very well. I freeze half and treat each slice as a treat! When I have none left I eat oatcakes instead.
I eat less and less and have little appetite for meat. After cooking dinners for 60 plus years I have not an ounce of enthusiasm for cooking. When my sons an DiL are here they cook with me and it is bearable but OH will not try to learn. Today I will be out until dinner time and he will produce a meal, a bought ready meal and a jacket potato. Better than nothing I suppose!
Food has never interested me. As a child i wouldnt eat much but did enjoy fruit and still do. There are so many things i dislike dairy foodstuff especially. Im not interested in cooking and I would be happy with salads with a few boiled potatoes. I dont do puddings but fresh fruit salad ticks my desire. I do enjoy cake though.
Thankyou Monica we do have an artisan baker,but even that is difficult to digest,I havent eaten bread for around 25 years.
I now live alone and get no food waste as I only buy what I need,and want,easy to prepare but healthy as I follow slimming world way of eating,this seems to suit me as it also keeps me at a steady weight.
Plenty of fruit and veg,some easily cooked and prepared lean protein, eggs,but being human I do fall off the wagon,its a way of life not a prison sentence,as I do become jaded and bored with that at times.
I really would love to have a live in chef to shop cook clean and prep,but would probably tire of that too, fickle I 🤔 think🤣
I bought an artisan sour dough loaf and still got my symptoms and it cost a fortune for one crust. It was delicious though.
I do get bored with eating the same sort of dishes hence I batch cook a great deal - having two slow cookers and a pressure cooker is an advantage too.
Often sit browsing through recipe books for things to make with the regular staples - stewing steak, chicken thighs etc. When I see something we know we would like I cook it.
I love cheese, and I love tomatoes, and I'm also partial to bread and crisps.
So..... no guessing what I usually settle for.
is it boredom, getting fed up with the prospect of preparing yet another meal or is it lack of appetite? My late Mother, who always cooked, loved her food etc., developed a distinct lack of appetite, just picked at food she would have previously liked. Turned out to be B12 deficiency which was resolved by 3 monthly injections.
I can't be bothered cooking to be honest, but work around it by making evening meals which don't need lots of prep. Thanks to my airfryer, I cook roasted veg, salmon, and then microwave some rice for example. Whole meal easy, and nutritious and delicious. I also think we need to get away from the tradition of meat and two veg/only a meal eaten with a knife and fork is a 'proper' meal. I have been known to have crispbreads, cheese, salad, and grapes for my main meal, and there is nothing missing from that. I always have a pot of home made soup on the hob or in the fridge at this time of year, and a bowl of that is often enough, lots of veg and lentils and again, not missing out by not sitting down with a knife and fork.
MissA I love cherry tomates and gherkins eat them like sweets,I also would live on cheese and anything cheesy...within reason of course,I would love a nice cheese and piccalilli sandwich,spread with thick butter,a sharing size bag of crisps,mayonnaise on the side and cherry tomatoes.

I love to cook, love to prepare interesting foods, know what I need to survive well and strong (nutrition). I'm never interested in eating other than what is necessary for health - boring. Small appetite I suppose, however we don't waste food, someone will always come round and forage in our kitchen. 
I do agree that home made bread is best, I make all our breads, cheap as chips. Lots of uses for bread in all meals, desserts and snacks.

Mel1967 I’m exactly the same. I never feel hungry and don’t enjoy eating. It’s got worse since Covid changed my taste buds. I have a wardrobe full of size 14’s that are way too big now!!
