I should have known better it seems
Than to think I could follow my dreams
Life played a part so did fate
What comes next I await,
Hopefully better than some of life's schemes.

A limerick is a poetic form comprised of one stanza with five lines and a rhyme scheme of AABBA that usually is humorous.
The first two lines rhyme, the third and fourth rhyme and the last rhymes with the first.
