Hello All! ? ?
I’ve tried to be more grammatically correct with the title this time.

Do you enjoy musical theatre?
??
Which is your favourite?

I love Jesus Christ Superstar; Cabaret; Oliver!; Sweeney Todd; Oklahoma
I could go on and on…

henetha Tue 24-May-22 12:05:28

Not when it's too hot. Low twenties is nice for me. When it starts heading up towards the thirties I detest it. And I've had 3 skin cancers, so I'm careful.

Does the weather forecast ever annoy you? Sun was forecast so I stripped the bed, added lots of towels and things for a hot wash. Was just hanging it all out when there was a huge thundery shower. Shall I leave it out or not?

biglouis Tue 24-May-22 13:32:06

I rarely pay any attention to the weather forecast unless I want to use the garden for a photo shoot.

Does it really annoy you when you have a tradesperson scheduled and they dont turn up?

I find it very stressful expecting anyone and cant settle to do anything complicated. Im always worried that Ill miss them if I have the TV or music on. So its a completely wasted day when they dont show up. Especially when they come up with some bullsh*t excuse that they knocked and there was no one home. I have cctv so I know when they lie.

hollysteers Tue 24-May-22 22:46:51

Yes, extremely annoying and frustrating.

What do you have low tolerance for (conceited and know all people)

biglouis Wed 25-May-22 00:08:31

Whinging neighbours! I have one that I simply dont open the door to.

Have you ever been to a music festival - the kind where you stay over?

I never have. Im not the camping type and the idea of trekking through the mud and queueing for the portaloo never did appeal to me even as a young woman.

FannyCornforth Wed 25-May-22 08:16:20

Yes, I went to Glastonbury three times in the early 90’s with my best mate.
Absolutely amazing and bonkers experience. Loved it. Brilliant fun.
I can’t imagine going now - it would be my worst nightmare!
I’ve been to Reading too, nowhere near as good.

Today is the day I talk to my therapist.
Have you ever had talking therapy or counselling?

henetha Wed 25-May-22 09:52:27

Yes, for depression. And CBT for panic attacks.

Do you wear socks with sandals in the summer? If not, how do you deal with blisters?

AGAA4 Wed 25-May-22 10:06:56

No I never wear socks with sandals. I use a solid gel that I rub on to parts that may be chafed by the sandal. It works.

Do you like to go out for afternoon tea?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 25-May-22 11:14:53

From time to time - you can't bear afternoon tea. It's a wonderful treat.

Do you ever go out for a full English breakfast?

Mollygo Wed 25-May-22 11:37:07

No, but I’ll eat it if it’s part of a hotel deal. I’d go out for poached eggs on smashed avocado on sourdough toast though.

Have you heard if a delivery firm called Green Fulfilment? They’re evidently going to deliver something I haven’t ordered today.

DanniRae Wed 25-May-22 13:57:32

Beware Mollygo this could be a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mollygo Wed 25-May-22 17:43:09

DanniRae

Beware Mollygo this could be a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the warning. I didn’t click on the link just in case.
The strangest thing is that what arrived at 2pm is something I had ordered from Sportstech, which was due to arrive on the 7th of June.

hollysteers Thu 26-May-22 10:34:00

No, haven’t heard of them.

Have you fitted carpets or wooden floors in your house?

henetha Thu 26-May-22 10:36:30

Fitted carpets everywhere. Can't stand wooden floors, - noisy, slippery things.

Do you have lots of house plants? Which are your favourite?

SachaMac Thu 26-May-22 12:24:43

I have quite a few houseplants again now, My current favourite is a cheese plant which seems to be thriving. We had one when we first got married in the 70’s and it reminds me of that.

Do you buy yourself fresh flowers on a regular basis? I do, I love to have a nice vase of flowers on my table.

nanna8 Thu 26-May-22 13:53:22

I pick them from the garden when possible but I sometimes buy them as well

Have you got a greenhouse?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 26-May-22 14:45:28

Not now, the garden is very small and while I like gardening I'm not that much of an enthusiast. There was one in our last garden which had been home-made by the previous owners who used up the old windows when they had double glazing installed. Quite charming but a little ramshackle and in time it had to be knocked down before it fell down. A shame, really because it was unique.

Has anyone else 'inherited' something home-made from a previous owner?

AGAA4 Thu 26-May-22 15:35:57

The cottage I used to live in had a conservatory added but it was home made. We had it redone professionally as I was worried the perspex roof would fall in.

Do you avoid going out when it's raining if you don't have to?

hollysteers Thu 26-May-22 18:44:49

I don’t mind the rain at all and especially love the sound of falling rain when I’m cosy inside. I had a caravan and falling rain on the roof was a particular pleasure.

Do you readily own up to your age?

henetha Thu 26-May-22 22:22:10

Yes, it's a strange thing that emerges when we get old, I find.
I'm proud to make it known I am 84, - heaven knows why!
And now I find myself cheerfully saying "And I'll soon be 85". Perhaps we are just pleased to have lived this long. smile.

Do you still buy clothes, and things, from catalogues?

biglouis Thu 26-May-22 23:19:54

No - its a long time since I bought clothes. I make things last. I got my last shoes from Amazon and my last clothes (kaftans) from the USA.

Are you satisfied with the measures announced today to alleviate the fuel price crisis?

I will benefit from the pensioner and disability grants but I think they are a bit of a sticking plaster solution. They need to cut VAT on fuel, green levies and the standing charge.

MrsKen33 Fri 27-May-22 06:18:57

I doubt we will get anything. We have electricity but no gas. We heat our house with oil. Also we never ever qualify for any benefits because we have savings. But for the moment we are fine. I hope those that need it get it as promised.

If you could spend one day with someone no longer with you, who would that be?

DanniRae Fri 27-May-22 09:26:48

My dear old mum (sorry dad sad) I would choose her as I have never felt as loved as she made me feel. I know Mr R and my kids love me but she always made me feel special. Oh dear just thinking about her is making me feel emotional. But I do realise how fortunate I am to have had such a loving, special mum.
Same question again, please

Mollygo Fri 27-May-22 09:33:07

I find it difficult to choose between mum and dad. Dad believed in me, and my ambitions, right from when I was young, but Mum still makes me feel special.

Which parent were you closer to and why?

henetha Fri 27-May-22 09:37:03

My ex husband I think. Although we were divorced we remained good friends until he died. I miss him.

Are you planning anything for half term, and the jubilee weekend?

henetha Fri 27-May-22 09:37:59

Crossed post. smile
