Hello! ?

By my reckoning, this thread will see us through until we are near to C********!

SachaMac’s question was ‘if you could travel back to any time or place for one day, where / when would it be’?

I’m still mulling it over…

henetha Sun 28-Aug-22 09:57:37

No, but I quite like the idea. Perhaps I should think about having a tv in the bedroom and go to bed earlier in the winter to save fuel.

Are you off to church today? Do Sundays feel different for you? Or is it just another day?

Mollygo Sun 28-Aug-22 09:59:19

Yes, I like garden centres. I often see plants I’d like for my pots -and there’s usually a lovely café there too.

No I don’t watch TV in bed because we don’t have one in the bedroom, but I often watch the news on my iPad in bed-much the same thing I suppose.

Do you ever buy cards and forget to post them?

Mollygo Sun 28-Aug-22 10:01:01

Sorry henetha I missed yours and we don’t always go to Church, but Sundays are always more relaxed.

Same as my last question.

biglouis Sun 28-Aug-22 13:23:26

The short answer is no because I never send cards - cant walk to a postbox!

Do you ever look everywhere for some piddling thing you need and then find it days later when you no longer need it?

AGAA4 Sun 28-Aug-22 13:52:27

Yes. More and more these days. I used to be much more organised than now.

Do you like visiting cathedrals like York Minster?

ginny Sun 28-Aug-22 14:44:08

I enjoy seeing all sorts of very old buildings. In my opinion , mostare far more beautiful compared with many modern day structures ,

At the age of 68 I have finally realised that it is ok for me just to take time for myself without feeling guilty.
Do you ever take to do just what you want ?

SachaMac Sun 28-Aug-22 15:33:08

Yes I do now, although I admit its taken me a while to stop feeling guilty, I think it’s important to occasionally switch off from everything and everybody & just do what you want.

Do you ever take your dog on holiday or even to stay in a dog friendly hotel. I have a few times and each time he behaved impeccably.

Mollygo Sun 28-Aug-22 16:36:43

I never have so far-only st stay with friends, but it’s reassuring to hear someone who has tried it successfully.
Without giving too much information-which is the best part of the country you have tried with your dog?

MrsKen33 Sun 28-Aug-22 19:20:27

We don’t have a dog and would keep well away from anything, pub, restaurant, hotel that said it was dog friendly. Sorry. But that’s my opinion.
Anyone agree with me?

Mollygo Sun 28-Aug-22 19:33:40

Funnily enough, re pubs and restaurants I’d be on your side MrsKen33 and so far I haven’t tried an hotel, but I might consider that.

Same question again-for MrsKen33’s benefit.

biglouis Sun 28-Aug-22 21:40:13

Yes I would not want someones "friendly" dog jumping on me! If I wanted a dog I would get one.

Do you ever use a real camera nowadays or just use the one in your phone for convenience?

I run a business for which I need high quality photos and I find that the ones in phones do not have sufficient facilities for what I want. I prefer the old fashioned camera.

hollysteers Mon 29-Aug-22 01:47:36

I just use the camera on my phone, enough for my purposes.
The quality is good.

If you could replace one body part of yours, which would it be?
.

FannyCornforth Mon 29-Aug-22 05:35:01

Not a lot of love for dogs on the thread! ?
Molly Whitby is very dog friendly, as are many places in Northumberland.
My favourite place is Alnmouth, and it’s really dog friendly.
Around where I live, the Derbyshire Peaks, is good too.

AGA I adore York Minster. It’s definitely my favourite building.
I lived in York for two years, and it was a dream come true.

Holly you ask brilliant questions!
I would have said hip, but obviously that has already been replaced.
I would really love extremely thick hair; lots and lots of it.
I’d really, really like more energy too - I’m not sure which body part that relates to.

What did you and your family tend to do on Bank Holidays?
(Is it me, or are they not really such ‘a thing’ these days?)

AGAA4 Mon 29-Aug-22 09:04:29

We used to take the children to the beach but stuck in traffic jams each way was no fun for any of us so we built a sandpit in the garden with a large paddling pool and they were much happier.

What can you see from your window? I can see lots of trees.

MrsKen33 Mon 29-Aug-22 10:16:27

Front garden. Pond with water lilies, a large tulip tree and DH cutting the lawn.

I have just spent two hours blanching runner beans. I am determined not to waste anything this winter.
What are your waste not plans.?

biglouis Mon 29-Aug-22 12:16:34

Use over ripe and left over fruit to make smoothies.
Leave plate scrapings on patio for birds
Use water from dishes to water house plants

Do you make plans for bank holidays or just lie in?

I was up at 7.30 to do a product photo shoot. Now Im going to relax over lunch and watch the latest episode of "House of Dragons" (prequal to game of thrones).

SachaMac Mon 29-Aug-22 20:09:07

Ive been out to a family party to celebrate my GD’s birthday, I tend to not to go too far on Bank Holidays, a trip to the local garden centre maybe then just pottering around. It’s feet up now in front of the TV, it seems to have gone dark early here tonight.

Do you sort out your wardrobe when the seasons change, packing summer clothes away etc or do you just leave things hanging there for a while.

hollysteers Mon 29-Aug-22 20:11:18

I have a ‘summer’ wardrobe in the spare room, but with our climate, there’s a lot of overlap.

Are you a punctual person?

HowVeryDareYou Tue 30-Aug-22 08:13:21

I'm always punctual. I cannot bear to be late for anything, and I'm usually 10 minutes early for things.

What's your worst habit?

MrsKen33 Tue 30-Aug-22 09:00:29

Since a child I have always twirled buttons on clothing until they come off. My mother bought me zip up cardigans for a while. I still do it though, but not quite so much. Never admitted to that before.
Are you a patient person.?

henetha Tue 30-Aug-22 10:11:26

Yes, fairly patient these days I think. I didn't used to be though.

If you were rich enough to buy a house with land around it, what animals would you keep in the fields? Mine would be donkeys and alpacas, and maybe a few sheep or goats.

Mollygo Tue 30-Aug-22 12:08:43

Alpacas definitely, goats probably -I like them and I’d never be tempted to eat them. I’d like to keep chickens.

Do you ever think about what time it is in other countries? Do you know it’s 01:08 in Kiritimati?

AGAA4 Tue 30-Aug-22 12:15:08

Only if family or friends are abroad especially if they are a long way away like Africa.

Do you ever see shapes in clouds?

ginny Tue 30-Aug-22 13:26:00

Oh yes. It’s also a game I play with the Grandchildren.

I’ve just made a batch of pastry to freeze ready for pies etc.
What was the last thing you made to put in the freezer ?

Mollygo Tue 30-Aug-22 13:31:23

Soup. Celery, mushroom, parsnip, and leek and potato all neatly stacked. I knew those boxes from our occasional take away were worth keeping!
