Here is a lion’s mane. And edible too🙂

Quite a bit is still hanging in there, even in the Welsh mountains. I don’t think I’ve ever had dahlias and wallflowers out at the same time before though!

shock what on earth is that Whitewavemark2 ?
It looks as if you have tipped leftover spaghetti into a pot.grin

My Ceanothus is reblooming

grannyqueenie Sun 30-Oct-22 14:16:25

Thanks prentice that’s saved me asking! A few bits of colour left despite or perhaps because of monsoon type rain and warm days! Including this succulent which seems to have resurrected itself!

Nell8 Sun 30-Oct-22 14:27:34

I've just noticed my winter jasmine in full bloom.

Nell8 Sun 30-Oct-22 14:30:11

Oops. My first attempt at sending a picture didn't work.

Nell8 Sun 30-Oct-22 14:44:10

A hardy fuchsia. Sorry, I'm learning how to post pics and fumbling around a bit ..

Nell8 Sun 30-Oct-22 14:47:13

Three more. Think I'm getting the hang of this so I'll stop while I'm ahead!

It’s really amazing, considering we’re on the verge of November. Sun shining and we’re out in the gardens appreciating summer blooms.
Unfortunately, this could be likely to global warming.

I’ve got cosmos and chrysanthemum flowering together! My nerines are doing well and my cotoneaster tree looks wonderful. I just wish my ‘lawn’ was more grass than weeds.

Woke up this morning to a new solitary cistus bloom on an otherwise empty plant. Amazing!

Aldom Mon 31-Oct-22 10:40:33

Summer flowering fuchsia, clematis, and '. My love' Rose.

Aldom Mon 31-Oct-22 10:44:41

A few more.

Fleurpepper Mon 31-Oct-22 10:52:48

Yes, my primroses are flowering again too! Crazy. Been cutting down most of the perenials, apart from sedum, and some spiked veronicas I cut earlier and are about to flower again. I picked a wild strawberry yesterday, and a few raspberries. Some of the canes are full of flowers, will they have time to fruit?

Since we’ve had rain, the geraniums in a small walled bed have gone mad, growing strongly when our geraniums in general have been rubbish this year. They were so sparse that DH put some chilli plants in the bed as well. Even though I don’t like chilli I’m tempted to put some in next year just because of the beautiful colour they provide. The fuchsias need sorting out when they eventually flower, they started to pop up in August!

We are supposed to have lots of rain tonight and tomorrow, so I took a few snaps earlier on.
Before the weather blows the leaves off.

We have a new delphinium! We also have the first (tatty) primula and the first few blooms of the clematis armandii (sp?) is scenting the garden.

Namsnanny Tue 01-Nov-22 13:01:56

I didn't know Clematis Armandii produced flowers this time of year!
The scent is heavenly isnt it NotSpaghetti?

Must try to find a new space!

Well done with posting your lovely photos Nell8

Aldom and others with primroses. Is this very unusual? I must admit to not having seen primroses or primulas in flower this time of year before.

NotSpaghetti Tue 01-Nov-22 13:13:32

No, Namsnanny, not usually this time of year. If I had to guess I'd say early but still usually late January or early February here.

Also the primula! What is it thinking??

Waterloosunset Tue 01-Nov-22 13:33:12

From my daughter’s garden …. I think it’s called Black Eyed Susan. She bought two smallish plants in July and they have kept blooming!

Aldom Tue 01-Nov-22 13:43:26

I'm in the south of England and yes, I usually have one or two primulas at this time of the year.
Waterloosunset I like the Blackeyed Susan in your daughter's garden. I used to have it in my Shropshire garden. I think i might have to find a space for one next year.

Some beautiful photos here. I am wondering how long it will be before I can plant my spring bulbs. They are usually in by now but it isn't really cold enough yet. All my plants are in containers.

Greyduster Tue 01-Nov-22 15:32:56

Up here in South Yorkshire my garden is gradually shutting down. Dahlias are hanging on, salvia Hot Lips, penstemons and some fuschia, and I cut the last red rose to put in a bud vase next to DH’s photo. One thing that is still doing well is the front rockery where heucheras are still flowering, along with campanula, rockery geraniums, and winter heathers just coming into their own.

Greyduster Tue 01-Nov-22 15:33:19

Love all your photos!
