My garden is on a steep slope which is difficult to stand upright on, even with spiked shoes. I have given up mowing and pay a local man to strim the grass once a fortnight. Since developing Rheumatoid Arthritis I find coming down the steps tricky, so use a hiking stick to help balance. At the moment I can still manage hedges and shrubs with the help of cordless trimmers, but would prefer to just concentrate on the patio pots which cover a larger area every year!

That looks so pretty - but a bit of a climbing challenge!

Some lovely gardens. I cannot post mine at moment as I’m away from home. I am the gardener and DH mows and cuts hedges. I hate leaving my garden in the summer months. I will post pics when I’m home

When I moved into my new home in 1995 it only had a Lime tree with a TPO on it. I planted every single plant myself. Also I sowed the lawn from seed with my Dad. Fast forward 31 years and I’ve been age proofing the garden over the past 5/6 years. New steps/ handrail/ removing many perennial Fuschias(thugs)vergrown conifers etc. etc. I’ve just taken away the lawn mentioned above as it was on a slope which I could no longer walk on- if I did I fell over! It’s now a lovely terraced area with two retaining walls with 6 tons of gravel. Very low maintenance now. Also I do have a gardener now for weeding the planted areas and cutting back shrubs etc.
