Very happy news my lovely daughter in law and son are expecting their 2nd baby in September, so happy for them. This news has really cheered me up and given me something good to focus on.

Any other grans-to-be, new or old hands?

I think my family's complete now, ninnynanny but I'm delighted for you and your family. thanks

kittylester Fri 03-Feb-12 10:46:20

Congratulations ninnynanny thanks Isn't it great!

Grandchildren are coming thick and fast in our family. We have one nearly 5, one 3 and a quarter (very important!) one 8 months and one 2 weeks. So five years ago we had none now we have 4 plus, also acquired in the last 5 years, 4 step grandchildren - I think it's something in the water! grin

New baby in family due tomorrow. My sister's son and wife having baby number 2. She is trying to say nothing about it but after 2 sons and 3 grandsons, sister would love to see some pink around! Think it will be a long time before I have any more GCs as DS and girlfriend have a long way to go before fully qualified but hope to announce another in (?) 5/6 years maybe!!
Congratulations to ninny and anyone whose new GC is imminent!

Seven weeks and counting until our daughter's little girl is due!! Has been a long journey for them, but we are nearly there.

I remember posting the "secret" in Grandads Shed last summer! Seems so long ago now!

Congratulations to all the new grandparents to be... I think the days of new grandchildren are now over unless my unmarried son suddenly gets broody haha... I'm now counting down to when I'm told my first great-grand is on the way.. but then my daughters will be first in the queue for cuddles... I think I'll have to pull the old 'age before beauty' stroke... or sharpen my elbows...grin

Congratulations new Grandparents to be. My daughter is finished with having children-she is forty and has no partner, but I have great hopes of my son and his wife in the next few years!

nanachrissy Fri 03-Feb-12 12:25:55

I'm off to New Zealand next month to help out with the four grandchildren following the birth of the fifth. Of course, I'll get to cuddle him too. smile

Oh lots of lovely babies. A girl would be a treat em , fingers crossed, but little boys are adorable too aren't they.
(funny thread by the way on mumsnet newsletter about sons...)

Glad you are managing to get out there soon absent .

ninnynannywhat lovely news how lucky are you ? I live in hope that maybe my 2DSs may produce more (DS1 has DGD to previous partner) but they and their partners work such long hours and are all saving to get on property ladder I can't see it happening yet,I am so jealous even though we already have 7 in total I love a new baby in the family.

Divawithattitude Fri 03-Feb-12 21:50:57

Little Jack arrived 8 weeks early last sunday morning - he is doing well in special care and may be able to leave tomorrow. A bit of a surprise, we get to meet him tomorrow for the first time!

Carol Fri 03-Feb-12 21:58:50

Wow Diva that's fantastic news. Welcome Jack! He must be fit and strong to be able to come home so quickly. What a special day tomorrow is going to be. Will you let us know how he is, please? thanks

And congratulations to everyone else with new grandchildren and more due very soon. Such a special time thanks

Faye Fri 03-Feb-12 22:01:07

Congratulations ninny I missed all the excitement of a new baby. It's a special time! thanks

Congratulations Diva too on the arrival of Jack, how much did he weigh? I bet you can't wait to meet him. thanks

Divawithattitude Fri 03-Feb-12 22:03:46

He was the largest baby in special care at 5 pounds, he is not coming home tomorrow but coming out of special care. there is a chance that if it snows we won't be able to go !

Carol Fri 03-Feb-12 22:24:34

Oh, I hope you do get to see him - I waited about 8 weeks for cuddles with my twin granddaughters when they were in the SCBU. 5 pounds is a very good weight for 8 weeks early x

Annobel Fri 03-Feb-12 22:31:46

Lovely news, Diva. I hope for your sake that it doesn't snow. thanks

ninnynanny Sat 04-Feb-12 12:52:18
