New grandchild in 2013?

I know there are a few of us in happy anticipation of a new grandchild this year. My daughter's baby is due in February and she's chosen NOT to know the gender; although names for either have been chosen and I do like them both very much. I am very excited at the prospect of being present at the birth, as I was with daughter's first baby - and happily my lovely son in law is glad to share the experience.
Who else is an expectant gran/grandfather?

My second grandchild is due in July, maybe at the same time as royal baby!? I do wish I could live nearer to my daughter & be more of use to them. They live in the Lake district & we live in Leek, Staffs. At least the in laws are nearby & also Aunts & Uncle that are very willing to help. I love my grandaughter Lola, to bits & it is always sad when we leave them but it seems worse when they go home after a visit to us. Very empty & quiet. I solve that by tidying up everywhere as it is a tip with toys & bits of baby food but I don't mind! grin

I know how you feel, yorke. My family are in Berks and Oxon and I'm in Cheshire. I always feel down for a while after I leave them or vice versa. When they go home, no matter how I try to clear up all the Lego, I still find little bits hiding under furniture long after they've left - and I haven't been playing with it...honest. grin

Grannylin - no news yet?

And another one for us - due at the end of September!! smile

DD2 has polycystic ovaries and was about to go back to the GP to start treatment, thought she'd do a test as she hadn't had a period for 7 weeks (not unusual) and discovered that she is pregnant - which is why we know so early.

Just heard from daughter that a last minute change of baby's name may be imminent. Son is most dischuffed - having never discussed babies names with his sister she is now considering the exact same names for a boy that son and his wife have chosen. (Although the need for said names is somewhere in the distant future.)
With all the names available what are the chances of that I wonder?

whenim64 Fri 25-Jan-13 13:22:18

That happened with my daughter. She was fixed on her favourite names, then a close friend pinched one for her baby at the last minute. We were all very happy with the names she settled on, though, and so was she.
