Isn't it endearing when grandchildren get words mixed up or mispronounce things? Our granddaughter (8, the other day) is bright, funny, clever, etc., but can't say "Chimpanzee". She calls it Chinzambee grin. We laughed (even though it was her birthday) but she didn't seem to mind.

My son at around 2yo couldn't say "biscuits" , so decided they were "boddits". We still ask if anyone would like a boddit.

When my son, age 4, came home from his first day at school, I asked if he had made any friends, yes he said, what was his name I said, after a pause "it was a bit like rabbit and sprout!", we worked it out, Robert!

DD came up with 'raditaters' when we needed to put the heating on. 'Heliclockters' frequently flew over our house.

DS became a dab hand at unskinning (peeling) the carrots.

GS's favourite mid-morning snack is a glass of milk with a piece of 'fat jack' (flapjack).

All these are in use in the family and we are looking d=forward to adding to our personal dictionaries!

"1/2 a pound of what would you like", when my brother did not know what to call scales, the actions of tipping sideways from side to side went with it.

My grandsons have all seemed to be remarkably articulate but one of my daughter's stumbling blocks was hospital which she always pronounced hostible. 47 years later we still call it the hostible.

The worst I can think of was my DD shopping with DGC on her 34th birthday. In a crowded supermarket the 2 yr old child was saying Mummy is dirty hoar, Mummy is dirty hoar over and over lolol

My grandson calls chicken fillet strips, "Wobbly Chicken," and chocolate fingers, "Chocolate Sausages."
My grandaughter calls fabric, "faggots" and prawns, "Porns."
They are so cute.

My very much younger sister made us all laugh when she insisted that she put on her bedclo at bedtime. We said a nightie was bedclothes, but for her one item was only a ‘clo’.

Aminals, I'm Danny to one of them still, ellingfant, wilf not wolf, plus we always make sure one of them has a full set of cutlery if we go out having had him boom across the restaurant "I need a f***". We did point out he didn't need it, what he was trying to say was 'Please may I have a ... " Hmmm...

Two of our families favourites from throughout the years.

Grandson (now 27 !) complication instead of constipation, he informed his mum he wad a bit complicated.....

Eldest daughter ( now ?? ) when she was very much younger and we were running for a bus, she said quite loudly " oh we've pissed the bus" as it disappeared into the distance !

It's surprising how we still use the constipation one, when we are suffering !!
