Izabella. I've just seen your post. Poor you. Just awful. The arm was bad enough, but breaking teeth too. So sorry. How did you fall off the bike? Realise you may not feel like replying. Do hope you recover from the shock soon ?

Lona Sun 05-Feb-17 19:26:46

ann that gorgeous little pooch will cheer you up and give cuddles ☺
Izabella That sounds horrendous, you will need lots of TLC flowers
Glad you're feeling better NandG, don't go rushing about smile
I've been to watch the Bolshoi ballet live from Moscow,at the cinema this afternoon. It was Swan Lake, the most amazing performance, loved it.

Greyduster Sun 05-Feb-17 20:24:23

Izabella I'm so sorry to hear about your accident - I hope you find side respite from the discomfort. A similar thing happened to DD's retired neighbour and she was out of action for some time. I shall be thinking of you.

N&G glad to hear you have your 'germans' on the run! Buttercream is on a back burner until next week, when I will be exploring all the options and will give you a sitrep! ?

We had a nice dinner with the family during which GS regaled us with all that he had learned about ancient Egyptian embalming techniques ([hmm!] Apple sauce anyone?). Then we had a jolly game of cards.

MawBroon Sun 05-Feb-17 20:44:05

I am so sorry to hear about your accident Izabella and send you very very gentle -{hugs} mwah, mwah.
I hope you can be looked after and waited on until things start to feel better. Have you ever taken Arnica for bruising? It might help. flowers

annsixty Sun 05-Feb-17 21:26:56

Izabella what a horrid thing to happen. All good wishes for your speedy recovery although I suspect it will be some time. I hope your teeth were saved.
I hope I haven't given the impression that the puppy will be mine!! My D lives 300 miles away and although she will bring it when she visits we won't see it more than a few times a year I am sad to say?.

Charleygirl Sun 05-Feb-17 21:45:32

Nana&Grampy I think you know that I am first in the queue as Sam's dog sitter. He will love all the extra attention and cuddles that he will get from me. Glad to hear that you are feeling better and the "germans" have left, never to return.

Jud I do hope that you do not come downstairs to discover a great mess to clear up again tomorrow, with luck the nappy will work.

Izabella I do hope that you can sleep tonight and that the pain from your teeth as well as your arm has settled down. The shock must have been horrendous. Please look after yourself flowers

callgirl1 Sun 05-Feb-17 22:41:33

Izabella, I`m so sorry, I`ve just read back and found your post, somehow I missed it earlier. I do hope you`re feeling better and have plenty of help at hand, and that your teeth aren`t as badly damaged as it sounds.

Charleygirl Mon 06-Feb-17 11:04:05

Very cold and frosty here today but at least the sun is shining. Tara spent the day lounging in bed yesterday and is now out and about.

Not a lot done, I had an early GP appointment and then the highlight of my day was filling my car with petrol. It appears to run on fresh air because I have not filled it up since before Christmas.

I do hope that Georgie is still bright eyed and not in too much pain. Sam and Grace and any other animal looking for cuddles is welcome here. My blood pressure may lower if I am stroking a dog for ages.

Look after yourselves in this cold weather- snow is forecast for later this week, are we not the lucky ones!

NanaandGrampy Mon 06-Feb-17 11:11:56

argh ...wrote a post then closed it down before sending !!!!!

Morning all !!

Blood test and breakfast all done , and car washed ( not by me !!) I'm feeling much better now the 'germans' have been routed !

Izabella I do hope you're not feeling too bad this morning , reading back over your post you certainly came a cropper !!

Jud how was this morning with Georgie? Any better?

That's a shame ann as I said maybe your DH would benefit from having a few doggy cuddles? Is he an animal lover or a tolerator? Grampy has through the years, tolerated a lot of our pets including a chinchilla that could poo like machine gun fire , a cockatiel that was vicious to everyone but him and several giant breed dogs. But Sam wormed his way into his heart and now it is obvious to whom Sam belongs and its not me !!

Crafting for me today, I have just framed a cut for Jackson and Coopers room so have added a picture here x

soop Mon 06-Feb-17 13:13:46

Good afternoon to you lovely lot...we had a pretty sunrise this morning and two surprise visitors who scaled the fence between us and the woodland. Photos to follow.

Izabella My word, you must have come an awful cropper to have done so much damage to yourself. I'm so sorry. It's good news that you've been attended to and "patched-up" but it sounds like you may be uncomfortable (to say the least) for some time to come. A gentle (hug) and flowers

Jud This is certainly a mega stressful time for Georgie AND you. Georgie is a member of the family. You love her. She needs you. Although us lot can only offer virtual support, it is from the heart. sunshine

Good to have back, Nana

granniequeenie That's humans for you...wink

Mildred Where did you visit in Kintyre?

soop Mon 06-Feb-17 13:24:31

Lona I wish that I could have accompanied you to the cinema. Many years ago, a friend and I attended a live performance of Swan Lake in a theatre in Plymouth. Glorious!

Greyduster I like your sense of humour. grin

Charleyg Chilly hereabouts. There was a deep pink sky this morning. hmm I've a feeling that the weather is about to take a turn for the worse. We've had a decent enough winter thus far. We shall see.

NanaandGrampy The framed cut for Jackson and Cooper's room, is very special. I love it.

soop Mon 06-Feb-17 13:26:19

Sunrise and early morning visitors.

grannyqueenie Mon 06-Feb-17 13:57:17

Beautiful skies, soop and amazing to have those visitors too.
I wish my car would run on fresh air, Charleygirl, do you have a special kind of engine?grin
That's a lovely present you've made nana, there are some very talented folk around but sadly I'm not one of them sad
Sorry the new puppy is not going to be so close at hand Ann but it does sound very exciting for your family, granddogs are very special and much less work than having your own!
Wondering how you're feeling today Izabella, hope you're managing to get about etc. When I broke a bone in my hand last year a friend lent me a plastic sleeve thingy to put over the plaster. It meant I could have a shower and wash my hair, it really was a life saver.
I'm enjoying a quiet couple of days before more family visitors later in the week, sometimes it feels a bit like I'm running a B and B!
But tonight we're off to the opera, La Boheme, part of our Christmas present one of our daughters, so a real treat.

Greyduster Mon 06-Feb-17 14:06:13

Thank you soop - a sense of humour is all that separates me from insanity in this house sometimes. I love your photographs.

Izabella I have been out since early doors but have been wondering how you are today, and hoping you are coping with your injuries. My very best to you. It cannot be easy.

We usually have a school run today but DD has taken a day's holiday as she is full of cold and nothing is pressing at work, so she is picking GS up. So, I am loafing at the moment (don't tell anybody!!). Another cup of coffee, I think!

soop Mon 06-Feb-17 14:36:33

granniequeenie MacSporran wishes to tag along with you this evening. La Boheme is a great favourite of his. I'm sure that you will enjoy every moment of your treat.

Greyduster I shall join you. A delicious mug of coffee and a virtual, buttery, Scottish shortbread...or, if no-one's looking, two each.

soop Mon 06-Feb-17 14:43:57

This morning's pink sky looked ominous. The wind is becoming wilder by the minute. A fishing boat is being tossed around. Makes me feel sick to see it. Rory asked to sit on the doormat. Before I had time to lodge the door open with a heavy pair of boots, he ran passed me at a rate of knots. That's back indoors...not out. MacS said (in his special voice) gooooooood boy! I'd hate you to catch cold. hmm wink

kittylester Mon 06-Feb-17 16:08:23

Ok, you lot, could you all please stop posting when you know I'm not going to be able to catch up!! There is tons to read.

Glad Georgie is home jud and I hope the morning mess abates soon. I bet you and Georgie are glad to have her/be at home.

Much talk, and lovely photos, of dogs. Over our married life, DH and I have had 8 dogs and I really miss the 'presence' of a dog but, we decided that we didn't want the tie of another one (and I quite like my garden nowadays!) so we just have the cat who is not as friendly as I'd like. We are, therefore on the lookout for a kitten (hopefully female wink). We are lucky that our next door neighbour is happy to pop in twice a day and feed Kiwi for us.

Izabella what a catalogue of woe. I do hope you are not in too much pain by now and are being well looked after.

Ann, nice to see you in the kitchen - I hope you are ok. flowers

Glad you are feeling better N&G and I love the picture.

Anyway, I've got people to phone. My sister in law has gone into non-communication mode again and my lovely cleaner is really stressed about something very minor and I promised to check how she is.

Take care everyone and please don't post too much until I can get back.

Charleygirl Mon 06-Feb-17 16:15:47

soop how did Rory ever cope on his own as a feral cat for so long without MacSporran being 2" behind him looking after the little soul.

grannyqueenie I am amazed that my car is not filled up often because nowadays I only do short journeys which on the whole eats up petrol but not with this car which I hate.

soop Mon 06-Feb-17 17:57:19

kitty You must be joking. I haven't truly caught up for some long time. Talk about busy. However, it's lovely to have such pleasant company. Aren't we lucky smile

Charleyg Since he returned from the vet, Rory has been very vocal. He yells for attention. He stands as close to his cupboard as he can. He waits for no man. MacSporran has taken to asking Rory...which of your favourite foods would you like? The two of them then have a ritual...MacS picks up a pouch and shows it to Rory. This goes on for a few minutes. All pouches contain different flavoured cat meals. All very posh. MacS thinks that he knows which variety Rory has chosen. Don't ask. All very worrisome. wink

Time for me to log off. I shall be with you late tomorrow morning. Poorly people and pets...I wish you a comfortable evening.

smile moon

Tizliz Mon 06-Feb-17 17:59:13

izabella hope you have kept your sense of humour today? I know from experience that the bruises keep on coming out - my unplanned dismount was from a horse which decided a couple of kicks would also be a good idea!

Tizliz Mon 06-Feb-17 18:00:34

soop of course Rory can tell which flavour he prefers. One of my dogs will turn down treats until he gets the one he wants.

cornergran Mon 06-Feb-17 18:57:57

I've also been wondering about you, Izabella, that was quite some fall, hope there has been a lot of tlc available. Pleased you are better n&g, loved the cut for the boys bedroom, we tried something similar when our two were young, sadly its presence didn't put an end to their personal war zone. grin.

soop I laughed at your description of the food ritual with Rory, minor in the way of foibles. smile. Seriously envious of your car's fuel consumption Charley, since September our car has needed filling up every two weeks, a bit of an 'ouchey' as our granddaughter says about anything painful, whether to person or pocket.

Hoping Georgie is getting more bladder control, jud, had to clear up after a visiting dog yesterday, must say it reminded me of one of the reasons we decided not to have a dog at the moment.

Mr C is out at a meeting this evening so I have the luxury of the place, and the computer, to myself. Had to go back to the dentist today, recalled so he could make some changes as prompted by the dental laboratory, bravery has returned as I managed without an injection. I think he was impressed after my jelly like appearance the week before. Still fretting about the car bump yesterday, I know, daft as a brush but its who I am. I got to thinking today how little consideration I would have given to it while I was working. Partly from a financial viewpoint but I think primarily because I have too much thinking time, I concluded I need to keep myself better occupied. All thoughts welcome.

Galen Mon 06-Feb-17 19:07:34

My car only gets filled about twice a year! This could possibly be due to the fact that my annual mileage is less than 1000miles. It's about 6 years old and has barely reached 7000

Galen Mon 06-Feb-17 19:09:22

( I know that doesn't add up, but I'm driving less and less as the years go on.
I originally used to do over 20000 miles a year

Mildred Tue 07-Feb-17 08:42:37

Izabella sorry to hear about your accident. I broke my wrist playing football with my GS in August. I just referee now.
Soup we were up there after our children were no longer interested in holidaying with us. We travelled up ro Glasgow then up to Greenock (Dad was stationed there in the war) over to Dunoon (loved it in the 60s) the using CalMac went to Bute, Kintyre we went to Tarbert and down to Campbell town. We used to do a lot of walking in those days. Weather glorious. People lovely. Stayed in b&bs or pubs. I love the West Coast, Gairloch Inverewe and the East Coast is glorious too driving along the coast in Caithness magnificent. Come day go day kind of holidays.
