Greyduster Your husband's remark made me hoot. MacSporran has a gorgeous beard but very little hair on top. When young, he had luxuriant curls. He did say at one time, that he wished he could transplant the beard to where he would so love to have hair. It's never going to happen.

Swanny and Bella I took the photo of snowdrops just this morning. At the time, the sun hadn't put in an appearance.

Our granddaughter, (the one who is to marry her delightful Dutchman this year), is having an introductory day with the Samaritans. She is a very caring young lady. In her late teens, she worked in a dementia clinic. After uni', she was employed by the Care Quality Commission. She is now working in a different branch of the same organisation.

I'm with greyduster, doggie envy is alive and well here. They are just so gorgeous, particularly like the Cavachon ann, I hadn't come across those before, very appealing. Smiffy is equally gorgeous, I'm going green as I write this. We have had two dogs in the past, still miss both but common sense prevailed. No one to mind a dog when we are away and we do have long days out, one day though. Hoping Georgie is settling at home, she's had a tough time.

We've some huge trees a short distance from our garden. Hearing magpies shouting we looked up to see a cat steadfastly climbing and climbing and climbing. The magpies swooped and shouted, he swayed about up there for a bit and then descended safely, phew. Just in case, does anyone know if the Fire Service still rescue cats from trees? Never seen a cat in those trees before. But you never know.

It would be beneath Tara's dignity to climb a tree although at the age of 12-13 she could do it. She could outrun Hussein Bolt any day.

We've been lining the cat's chalet with offcuts of carpet that has been removed from the bedroom. Rory sat beside MacS throughout the project. Rory remained po-faced. I offered to help - got onto my knees and did a bit of useful faffing, only to find that I couldn't get up again. MacS came to the rescue.

Snowdrops are beautiful, I think the squirrels dig my snowdrops up, I have spent most of the day in the garden, everything is budding, felt like a spring day. You live in a beautiful part of the country Soop been up to Kintyre a couple of times when we were younger.

He's not my dog Greyduster, I found his picture online but I now have dog envy too, I want one just like that, he looks so sweet and cuddly.
However, I must remember to be practical.

It is not practical for us to have a dog - repeat.

We have about 10 snowdrops out in the garden. They never seem to have increased in number in the 25 years they have been there.

It's gravity - the reason that male heads become bald but their beards grow thicker.

soop isn't it lovely to see snowdrops? Those in your photo are amazing! Ours are doing well this year too. If I had a moment to spare I would send a photo of mine. They have cheered me up today as I looked at them through the window, shining in the sun.

Ann a little cavachon is such a cute little dog. It should cheer you up although pups are quite a handful at first.

Talking about handful, Georgie has been bombing about today on her 2 front legs with her ball but gets exhausted very easily and is resting on her new 'vet bed'. I bought this as she can get off and on it easily. Last night she was quiet and seems to sleep but I won't describe the scene awaiting me this morning. The incontinence became a reality and I spend most of the morning on hands and knees cleaning up. She was like a little snail, constantly dribbling despite my efforts, obviously not that successful, at expressing her bladder. And boy did she stink! I did wash her behind a few times but it didn't do much good. Eventually, I had to put a nappy on for the sanity of all ?

We did our first physio session. Again, I'm sure it wasn't as effective as she was getting in the hospital but at least it is something towards her rehabilitation. That was another hour gone! It felt like the time I brought my first babies (2 of them!) home. A bit bewildered, out of control and exhausted. Still, I think it will be a few days of trial and error to see what works and then hopefully things will get easier. At least we have her back again. It might have been so different.

Right arm currently in plaster after a rather spectacular and unplanned dismount from the mountain bike yesterday. 5 hours in A/E and the clinical decisions unit. So several smashed teeth, fractures to hand and facial lacerations. Just back from emergency dental work. Not often you get a dentist out on a Sunday. So I shan't be bringing cakes this week.

Jud I was pleased to hear that Georgie did not keep you awake with her howling. A nappy seems to be the best method as she cannot tell you when she wants to "go". My heart goes out to the poor little mite because she will hate being in that state having been a clean little girl before her accident.

Izabella what a horrible accident! You must be feeling very sore and shocked. Sleep is definitely a good idea, at least to deal with the shock. I'm sure you will be out of action for a while so take it gently and allow yourself to heal!

Cornergran that's just like me, we had dogs when we had the children all at home and so enjoyed it. The family were sure we would get another when we retired and moved away from the city but like you it just wouldn't easily fit with the life we now have. I'm so glad 3 of the children now have dogs as I get my pet therapy at their expense and sometimes get to dogsit too! One daughter has handsome cats, they don't visit but I enjoy seeing them when we go there.
Sounds like Georgie is going to be a full time job, Jud, hopefully you'll get into a routine that makes it all a bit easier to manage. The home with a new baby analogy sounds very apt!
Well best get back to putting the house back in order, the visiting dog didn't make much mess but his humans seemed to!
