Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.

Make yourselves comfortable. I shall pop in later with a few treats.

You are being VERY patient and restrained then N&G.
Poor man though, my father had disc problems for years and the only person who could fix him was an osteopath in Edinburgh called Cameron (no, not Dr!!)
We would get the train to Edinburgh, with Dad standing (he could stand and walk, albeit painfully) but sitting was out.
We would get the bus to the Meadows where this man had his rooms near Jawbone Walk if any Scots remember that. After the dead was done and the manipulation over, Dad would come out he would be skipping like a Spring lamb and all was well - until the next time but perhaps not for years.
Wishing him good luck.

Deed not dead!!!

Greyduster Wed 19-Apr-17 09:45:20

The problem with things like that is it's like having a ticking time bomb inside you for years after; you never know when it's going to go off, and the silliest things can trigger it. When I had my slipped disc, the hospital made me a sort of plastic jacket that they actually moulded to my body - like a solid corset that strapped on. It was very weird but the only way I could move around and it saved me from being totally immobile initially. I, too, had a good osteopath. I hope your SiL is back in his feet soon, N&G.

Another photo!

What a lovely little puppy wot but so tiny. I'd be terrified of standing on him! Remember shuffling round not lifting my feet off the floor when Oscar was that small because he was always getting under our feet. How is Sophie? Hope she's not still feeling under the weather?

Greyduster Wed 19-Apr-17 11:05:30

Oh here we go again! I WANT ONE!!!! He's a sweetie! wot I too was wondering how Sophie is? Comfortable I hope.

wot Wed 19-Apr-17 11:33:45

Sophie seems comfortable, if a bit subdude (can't spell it). If I had my way I would get the vet to come and see her here. The vet nurse only said that they needed to take the investigation further, meaning an ultrasound. I figured that then the next step would be an operation on her tummy which would be painful. Partner and his daughter are still in denial, saying that Sophie is just overweight. Ive even bought steps so that she get into my car.

anno Blame the chocolate! What a fulsome weekend. Lovely to have family gather on special occasions. Next month we have granddaughter's wedding to celebrate. In the autumn we have our big family get together in Rutland.

Galen One of my all time favourites...Les Mis.

granniequeenie No need to apologise to us lot. Your post was bursting with kindness. That's what counts.

oldgoat Hang on to those toys. There will come a time when they will be appreciated anew.

NanaandGrampy Best not voice an opinion concerning your son-in-law's back. He's suffering right now. I hope that Grampy obeys does as you suggest. He needs plenty of rest and tlc wink

soop Wed 19-Apr-17 13:28:22

wot Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Puppy dog envy in spades. grin

MawB Jawbone Walk...I like it. Most appropriate.

I had the leg dressing changed this morning. The surgery is in Muasdale. We drove by the location where number rested her late husband's ashes. Unlike Sunday, the sun was shining and the scene was very peaceful.

soop Wed 19-Apr-17 13:29:11

wot Gentle strokes for Sophie. sunshine

annsixty Wed 19-Apr-17 13:44:54

Another very long post lost?
In essence I have been to visit a friend in her new retirement apartment.
It is so tiny, she has had all new furniture and it is like dolls house furniture.
Her 2 sons put a bit of pressure on her and from putting her beautiful bungalow on the market she was in the new place in just over a month. Her very wealthy son bought the new place and she will repay him when she gets completion next week.
I just know that it wouldn't suit me yet if ever.
I feel very unsettled for myself and for her.

This is a picture of it and some information.
I can remember being very impressed as a child.
Anyone else (Edinburgers or Weejins?) ) remember it?

MawBroon Wed 19-Apr-17 13:54:32

Wrong picture!!

Ann , I know how you feel . We are building with my DD and her OH , on the first plans I had a tiny sitting room and the smallest kitchen ever , blanched , bit my tongue , SIL looked at me and said s... that wouldn't do , where is your mum going to bake that nice bread !! The house is started , and is now a decent size but I am still not sure if my furniture will fit . I dread moving OH in , he keeps wanting to go home and he is at home !! what will it be like in new surroundings ? But I need to move , I can't manage the stairs any more , takes me forever to get down in the am

aggie Wed 19-Apr-17 14:37:01

Maw isn't that a whales jawbone ?

MawBroon Wed 19-Apr-17 14:42:31

aggie Wed 19-Apr-17 14:45:43

callgirl1 Wed 19-Apr-17 17:34:00

I had a letter last week from the DWP, saying they were going to ring me on April 19th. They called this morning, she asked loads of questions, I was ready to scream by the time she`d finished. One question was about my marital status, I said widowed, she asked if I had a partner I said no, the next question was, is my partner in a care home? I told her I`d already said I didn`t have a partner. Another question was did I pay rent on my house or a mortgage, I said I owned it outright, so she then asked me how much my mortgage payments were! Grrrrr!!!!
It was nice to see the smiling face of the Tesco delivery man after all that.
Soop, if I were a patient at Muasdale surgery, I think I`d go willingly to the doctor`s.

Muasdale surgery, right facing the sea.

And this is the sort of day we hoped for on Sunday that`s our caravan.

callgirl1 Wed 19-Apr-17 17:36:44

Nearly forgot, I want that puppy, he`s adorable!

MawBroon Wed 19-Apr-17 17:45:25

Looks as if I am not going to be posting from Wormwood Scrubs or Holloway after all.
Someone on another thread was accusing me of "criminal cyberstalking " - how very dare they? Fortunately that has (at last) been deleted.
Not my week is it?

callgirl1 Wed 19-Apr-17 17:52:54

MawB, some folk have really got the wrong idea about you!

Greyduster Wed 19-Apr-17 17:58:00

I want to know why all those cows are waiting for a train. Hope it's not what I think it is!!

I am in the doghouse. We had a lovely day with GS today, but he wasn't in a mood for going out earlier so just before he went home I suggested we have half an hour down at the park playing football. In my usual misplaced enthusiasm I tackled him and we both ended up on the floor. He was fine, but I couldn't get up (partly because I was laughing so hard!). When we got back, DH gave me a stern lecture about doing daft things at my age. 'You could have broken something blah blah...... '. Of course, he's absolutely right. More importantly I could have hurt the boy.

Ann they are close to finishing some retirement apartments near to us and we went to have a look at the show house. I agree with you, they wouldn't be for me either. I know we will have to downsize one day, but I would need more space than that, even if I were on my own. They were positively claustrophobic.

Jalima1108 Wed 19-Apr-17 17:58:18

You're OK MB, Holloway is shut for business!

callgirl did you ask her if she'd ever considered having her ears syringed?

soop Wed 19-Apr-17 18:00:47

I'm logging off for today. Thank you for your company. smile moon
