We live in a lovely second floor flat overlooking the sea, beautiful views, but no outdoor space, not even a balcony. I am very envious of all the talk of gardens and flowers. I could go for a walk but not the same as just stepping outside into one's own garden.
I've spoken to OH about maybe moving but we live very near the station and he travels to London most days and has another 4 years to go before he retires. Oh well have to make the most of my DD's gardens when I visit.
So nice to see the sun and looks like it may last all week, is this our summer !!!

annsixty Mon 22-May-17 18:06:43

Oldgoat looks a very young goat to me.
I hope you have a lovely holiday, I miss my caravan.

Galen Mon 22-May-17 18:09:24

She's a kid!

callgirl1 Mon 22-May-17 18:13:12

Great photos Soop. Looking at Oldgoat`s cake, I`ve obviously missed a lot by never visiting Glenbarr tearooms, we didn`t get cake at the Abbey! I hope the rain didn`t last for too long. I forgot about Wi-Fi non existence at Muasdale, it used to be only in rthe vicinity of the main house and reception, but now the place has changed hands it might not be available at all. I hope your weather improves, we`re on our 2nd warm, sunny day in a row.

callgirl1 Mon 22-May-17 18:14:25

Love your wit Galen!

soop Mon 22-May-17 18:14:29

Very droll, Galen grin

Full of coffee and walnut cake. MacSporran full of chocolate cake. Soup and toast for tonight's meal.

I shall pop in again after the care home visit. Love to you all. smile moon

Good evening all sounds and looks like the birthday celebrations and your cakes were a great success MarBroon is that you looking on with pride in the background? Your photos look wonderful grannyqueenie where are you( I know I should know but the kitchen gets so busy I often miss somthing) Scotland I believe. I'm glad you've found somone to accompany you Galen I've had many a day like your Saturday Nelliemoser upwards and onwards. Hope this week is better. It's my last night grandson/dog/housesitting. I have been feeling a wee bit nostalgic because the boys are getting too old to want to just sit with me(11& almost 16) I've hardly seen them really. I took them out tonight and without prompting they both said they wished their parents were away for longer so I could stay with them. It's made me realise that they do still love their Nanna. So it's home for me tommorow. I'm a bit apprehensive while I'm here I can pretend that all is well with my other DiL. I best go and clean the house before they arrive. I don't there to be a thread about inconsiderate MiL on mumsnet!

MawBroon Mon 22-May-17 19:44:28

Hunkering down as somebody has been extremely aggressive, foul mouthed, rude and has given me a total stillaliveand kicking.
Not in the right frame of mind to laugh it off so best sit on my hands in case the urge to flounce (or creep away) becomes too strong sad

Elegran Mon 22-May-17 19:52:12

Never mind, Maw Play the firemen calendar video again and forget agressive posts. I shall post the link here for others in the kitchen.

Greyduster Mon 22-May-17 20:08:00

Elegran!!! ?? Phew! I need a bit of a hosing down now!

PoshGran Mon 22-May-17 20:19:28

I feel sorry for those young firemen, do you think we ought to kidnap them buy them braces, T-shirts and smaller bigger towels? hmm

morethan2 Mon 22-May-17 20:25:05

This is to cheer you up MawBroon it'll be the last I or the kitchen see of her for some time.

Nannylovesshopping Mon 22-May-17 20:53:44

Oh maw don't let that old bag wind you up, she only posts on here when she's nothing else to do, don't let her s... hit your fangrin

I see I have missed another move while I've been away. The new kitchen surpasses all expectations! I was visiting good friends (and dog) in North Yorkshire. They very kindly took me the the Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park at Grewelthorpe. I'd never heard about this amazing place before. It's a magnificent spread of rhododendrons and azaleas of all colours and sizes, covering 30 acres. In damp spots there are spectacular displays of gorgeous primulas. And it wouldn't live up to its name without the heavenly blue meconopsis - Himalayan poppy. We were lucky enough to visit at the very best time of year for rhododendrons and I am left wondering how I could possibly fit several more into my small garden. Incidentally, if you want to see a superb display of rhododendrons and azaleas, you can also visit the National Trust property, Hare Hill, near Macclesfield. This week it will be at its best.

No wifi so quick pop in morethan I'm in North Wales, overlooking the Maddwach Estuary, it's good for the soul. Here's the view from today's walk. Glad you've got company for your cruise Galen Sorry you're feeling battered maw we're never all going to agree but rudeness is never justified in my book.

Crafting Mon 22-May-17 21:43:23

maw cupcake and wine for you. If you are still sitting on your hands I can cut the cake up for you and put a straw in the wine. We like you maw', don't let the saakie ones get to you smile

morethan2 Mon 22-May-17 21:52:32

Looks fabulous grannyqueenie I have been to north Wales but not that area. I'll put it on my bucket list.

wot Mon 22-May-17 22:19:25

wot Mon 22-May-17 22:20:22

And the firemen calender......cor!!!!!! My ex fireman never looked that good!

callgirl1 Tue 23-May-17 01:14:21

Ignore her MawB, she`s not worth getting upset over.

kittylester Tue 23-May-17 07:24:15

(((hugs))) Maw. I have to confess that I worry about your attacker. I never see a post from her that is anything other than aggressively contrary. sad

I'm so sad about the events in Manchester.

annsixty Tue 23-May-17 07:36:09

I am going to visit Ruby this afternoon. I am expecting more than usual security at Piccadilly station and at the MRI . So sad for the parents appealing for news of their children and hoping they have just not had the means to get in touch. However ....sad

NanaandGrampy Tue 23-May-17 08:35:56

Hello all.

Its hard to offer my usual good morning , when for many families it is not.

I've had a little catch up but it just seems so wrong to chat about cake and such in the light of this mornings events in Manchester. Am I being a bit if a twit?

Man's inhumanity to man seems to know no bounds. My sister and her family spent the weekend in Manchester at the football and enjoying the city- all I can think of is thank god they're not concert goers.

I'm sorry someone was horrible to you Maw - there are a few posters who I only ever see when they have something mean or spiteful to say .

ann safe journey today x

cornergran Tue 23-May-17 08:43:35

ann please give ruby my best wishes, hoping there is progress for her soon.

I also am so sad about the events in Manchester. Terrifying for all, leaving much sadness behind.

Hope this morning feels better mawb, GN holds some unpleasant surprises sometimes. Rise above it if you can.

Beautiful image, gq, food for the soul.

Take care everyone.
