Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather
Never mind the rain
As long as we're together...Woops she goes again.

Welcome.

The fairy Eildon hills are prominent in your photo, Mawbroon. Do you get your poetic genes from Thomas the Rhymer?

Jalima1108 Thu 15-Jun-17 10:50:18

They would be OK if I wore 6" stilettos Elegran!

Elegran Thu 15-Jun-17 10:54:03

Maybe that is it - I should start wearing stilletos. Stand by for a post on injuries recived from falling off them.

cornergran Thu 15-Jun-17 10:54:51

So sorry you are sad mawb, be good to yourself today.

Greyduster Thu 15-Jun-17 10:57:38

Well, I said I'd broken the rules and if GN HQ find that unacceptable then they are free to say "on yer bike". If I have offended *Soop" it goes without saying that I am chastened beyond measure.

MawBroon Thu 15-Jun-17 11:05:54

I wish elegran!
You know it's Borders Book Festival starting today? Easier to get into than the Edinburgh one in August and the loveliest of settings in Melrose.

Bellanonna Thu 15-Jun-17 11:15:33

Come on GD you are allowed to have some off days. You always make interesting and down to earth posts. Don't read the political posts and just ignore your husband. That's what I do?
Keep posting.

Jalima1108 Thu 15-Jun-17 11:20:00

I have to go and sew

Any offers - in exchange for cupcake or wine?

NanaandGrampy Thu 15-Jun-17 11:23:32

stirring the pot as usual Rigby ? ...you don't need to remind us of anything ... Unless you have read every thread back to the beginning of time in the kitchen you're ill equipped to throw stones methinks !

NanaandGrampy Thu 15-Jun-17 11:25:45

You're under the same sky as your beloved Borders Maw just send your thoughts winging. Hope you have some wonderful memories to sustain you on a sad day x

NanaandGrampy Thu 15-Jun-17 11:27:34

Grey - soop will be the first to tell you there's nothing to forgive. That's why this is such a good place to rant or offload.

I wonder if we might consider a husband swap for a few days --- smile

Tizliz Thu 15-Jun-17 11:34:10

Sometimes I feel like repeating my mother - there are 7 of us and life could get a bit heated. "If you don't play nicely, I will bang your heads together".

There is no need to be nasty to someone just because you disagree with them - that is not ponted at anyone in particular, just a general comment .

OH and I put the world to rights over breakfast and that is enough politics for me today.

MawBroon Thu 15-Jun-17 11:38:00

That is a lovely thought "under the same sky" N&G, one I will remember smile

NanaandGrampy Thu 15-Jun-17 11:46:14

for you Maw xx

Elegran Thu 15-Jun-17 11:58:45

I see from Age Uk that today is World Elder Abuse Day. So it is open season on grannies today - best to stay in the kitchen.

PoshGran Thu 15-Jun-17 12:48:29

Greetings Kitcheners, just returned from a session with my "specials" at the library (multi-sensory story-telling); lovely and humbling to be with such kids, where eye movement & the flicker of a smile is such a positive result (as is interacting with the poppet who engages everything with her bare feet first!) Awww!!

Elegran Elder Abuse Day - open season on grannies eh? As you say, stick in the Kitchen (although we can still "hear the neighbours" at times it seems.)
Looking at it from another perspective (& sorry, my warped sense of humour is twitching) - I love literalisms. I once lost a boyfriend because I mischievously (sp?) went up to a car which had the word Press on the windscreen & pressed it, & said that whatever it was supposed to do didn't work. Boyfriend, stony-faced, "that's stupid". I thought it was funny - he was a trainee journalist !! Ho hum.
Example --This door is alarmed (I'm not too happy about it either)
Example --(Mentioned elsewhere on GN - will credit later) Please carry dogs on escalators (Where do I get one, what will happen if I don't?) ....etc
Any others around... (or is it just me, again?)
grin

Loved those Poshgran

MawBroon Thu 15-Jun-17 13:20:35

Whispers <have the klingons on the starboard now been repelled?>

kittylester Thu 15-Jun-17 13:21:14

Any elders that feel like being abused could just venture on to the politics threads. grin

Sorry you are sad GD but we love you on here! And you Maw but i suspect neither of you need reminding of that.

To cheer you up:

I have had Persie this morning and took her to Sainsbury's with me. They also have a new kitten - a Persian - which obviously requires a special diet.

Me: Could you get some cat food please, Persie. Which food does your new kitten eat?
Persie: She eats mouses and cheese.
Me: Oh, where do you get the mouses from? (I know I should say mice but what the hell!)
Persie: Mummy buys them from the mouse shop then I spread them with cheese and cook it all till it's nice and crispy! grin

kittylester Thu 15-Jun-17 13:23:27

Dam you Maw, I shall be singing that blessed song all day now! grin

I've been wondering whether we should have a strategy for invaders in the kitchen. Maybe total non acknowledgement is the answer.

Elegran Thu 15-Jun-17 13:28:58

Poshgran I've seen the reply to "This door is alarmed" as "Alarmed? It's bl***y petrified - people keep coming up and hammering it!"

Jalima1108 Thu 15-Jun-17 13:30:25

Just having a laugh at the thought of Persie cooking mouses with cheese

although it has put me off having cheese for lunch grin

MawBroon Thu 15-Jun-17 13:45:49

gringringrin kittylester
