Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather
Never mind the rain
As long as we're together...Woops she goes again.

Welcome.

That should have read...^I'm not complaining...^ trigger-happy finger to blame.

That was some walk, oldgoat especially in hot sunshine. We have a haar drifting off the sea at the moment. There is a promise of sunshine a little later.
We haven't used the seafood cabin in Oban, oldgoat we usually go to The Kitchen Garden café for toasted sandwiches. However, since the really good fish and chip shop opened, we consider it to be the place to visit. The fish and chips are beautifully cooked and the interior is tranquil and well designed.
Good afternoon, Crafting and corner there appears to be a blip when trying to access certain forums. I thought that it might have been sorted by today. Apparently not. [confused.

Jane10 Sun 18-Jun-17 13:40:15

soop what is this phenomenon you talk of - 'left over chocolate cake'? It must be a new thing for I've never heard that was possible!

soop Sun 18-Jun-17 14:00:00

Charleyg Wherever it is that you've found almost unlimited patience, I would be glad if you'd share some with me. When our home was being constructed, some days there appeared to be next to no progress. I would harrumph but MacS would remain calm and remind me that, should we fall out with one builder, it would be curtains. The entire crew would pack up and walk away. MacS has taught me a lot.

Baggs May I peel a grape for you? Black, red or green? wink

callgirl Isn't is strange how certain thoughts come out of the blue at the oddest times? Not long ago, in the wee small hours, I awoke and remembered that we had overlooked our granddaughter's birthday. As it happened, she was on holiday. The card was posted late but she had it to return home to.
Big Jessie's is doing well. It started off in a very small way, but grew in popularity as more people took the ferry to Gigha.

oldgoat Your photo is lovely. Your garden? The wee café at Crinnan serves a wicked selection of cakes. It's situated beside the water. We'll def visit when next you're in Kintyre. You would enjoy the George in Inveraray. It's quaint and quirky.

Happy Sunday to you two too! grin

Gaga The reference to a "borrower" made me smile.

POGS Come in more often. I've missed you.

Charleyg enjoy lunch with your friend. She will benefit from your support.

PoshGran When at the new library group, do as Del boy would..."knock 'em bandy!"

MawB Shame to let the mini choc ices languish in the freezer.

TriciaF I hope you are healing well. The injury I did to my shin (about three months ago)took ages to knit. There is thick, purple scar tissue. The area of ground that I was clearing at the time of the tumble, is now jungle-like. I should have left well alone. hmm

soop Sun 18-Jun-17 14:02:35

Jane10 To be honest, we bought four slices. Two for yesterday and one each today. All gone. It's best out of sight!

Baggs Sun 18-Jun-17 14:36:43

Hope your leg is improving, tricia. I'm imagining a run away van wheel careering towards you and.... ❗️

Charleygirl Sun 18-Jun-17 15:01:10

soop my feelings are similar to the way that MacSporran's were re your builders. If I fall out with them it will cost me an awful lot more to find others. I am now at the stage where it is really money orientated (in my camp) and if I have to wait a couple more days, so be it. Also without knowing they are doing jobs for me that I cannot manage, there are no flies on this yin!

kittylester Sun 18-Jun-17 15:12:58

Good afternoon. Anyone fancy a gluten free chocolate eclair? Gluten free brown bread, ham and tomato mini quiche, courgette and tomato mini quiche or cheese scone? I went on a GF baking course yesterday and everything I made was edible!! The cupcake recipe wasn't as good as mine but otherwise it was a brilliant day!!

Sorry to hear about poorly dogs, people and kitchen floors and hope everyone is managing in the blooming heat. Ann you made me smile smile

I was glad to miss GN yesterday as I started the (lighthearted) thread that got everyone going. I want to thank baggs for her support particularly.

I think I might have mentioned rather too much that we are taking part in the village open gardens next weekend, not that DH we are panicing or anything. While I was feeding DS1's cat this morning, a lady appeared with her entry programme thinking it was this week. I think DH nearly died of shock! grin

We have also been having fun with the Idiot doing his brilliant impersonation of being a complete ar****le over the weekend. It culminated in his offering to let DD's partner adopt them and he would get out of their lives forever. If it was only that simple.angry Stressful round here at the moment! sad Following on from ann's comment about dogs and expartners, anyone got a dog guaranteed to vomit in the Idiot?!

soop Sun 18-Jun-17 15:49:09

Charleyg Well said. Keep cooel!

kitty You've been busy baking. It all sounds well worth the course.
As for the blithering ars* I'm sorry to hear that the stress continues. You deserve a break.

TriciaF Sun 18-Jun-17 16:12:29

Thanks for the sympathy - it's good to have somewhere to have a moan. I daren't tell the family because they live far away would panic " Mother what on earth were you doing? You must be going doolally!"
Baggs by run-in I meant more of a battle. I was taking the wheel for repair, tried to lift it out of the back of the van, but I didn't realise how heavy it was. It fell and bounced and hit my shin. I should have waited for the worker to do it, she was there, and has the knack. She told me off.

soop Sun 18-Jun-17 16:18:44

TriciaF I winced when I read about the wheel bouncing before hitting your shin. Now that it's well bandaged, avoid knocking the shin at all costs.

POGS Sun 18-Jun-17 16:22:35

soop

Thank you smile

TriciaF Sun 18-Jun-17 16:29:58

soop sometimes I think we should wear shinpads.

Lona Sun 18-Jun-17 16:31:17

kitty You have my sympathy, it never ends does it? hmm

soop Sun 18-Jun-17 16:33:35

I shall log off until tomorrow. Best wishes to all of you who are experiencing problems. I'm hoping that several poorly pets are recovering. Rory is in bottom gear. He has barely twitched a whisker all day through. Nothing to do with the heat wave. It has avoided us. Our time will come, eventually.

smile moon

soop Sun 18-Jun-17 16:34:47

TriciaF grin

annodomini Sun 18-Jun-17 17:03:17

I suddenly thought of the neglected sun lounger in my shed so dragged it out onto the patio. It suffered from the flood we had just a year ago this weekend, and there was dried mud in some of the folds. I hosed it down and when it dried, took the hand-held part of the vacuum and got most of the mud dust off. Now I hope I will have a decent summer to enjoy my rejuvenated lounger. Incidentally, my sister bought it for me in Lidl, many years ago. Good bargain.

Charleygirl Sun 18-Jun-17 17:10:45

TriciaFIt is something that one can do without thought- I keep thinking that I am still 29 so of course nothing like that would or could not defeat me either. You will have to keep an eye on it. Did you break the skin, will you have a nasty bruise or both?

The weather here is 31C it is really too much for me.

kittylester Sun 18-Jun-17 17:11:07

No, Lona, you think it has and then something else rears it's ugly head. The Idiot has a very ugly head! grin

Are you still having problems?

TriciaF Sun 18-Jun-17 18:08:42

Yes I broke the skin, it's very fragile. And more bruising, but that's partly because I bruise easily, taking aspirin to thin the blood.
Luckily I was able to get to the Dr. within half an hour, so the skin repair should work .
Charleygirl grin yes I don't want to admit there are some things I can't do now.

Nelliemoser Sun 18-Jun-17 18:53:39

It is far too hot. 32C outside in Cheshire. I feel like driving just to get the benefit of the aircon.

25C indoors with a slight breeze blowing into the hall where the thermomter is. I expect it's hotter in the other rooms.
All west facing curtains now closed against the sun.

Tizliz Sun 18-Jun-17 19:30:59

baggs I think your post about jud got lost in too many posts. Do say Hi from me and I am sure everyone else here

Crafting Sun 18-Jun-17 21:42:59

Thank goodness for soop and the kitchen. I say no more (other than give me cake and a huge vat of wine please.

cornergran Sun 18-Jun-17 23:01:38

Both are here crafting, along with a hug if you need it. I have been out and about today - a mere 27 degrees and a sea breeze so comfortable - so no idea why you need it. It matters not, if you do it is here. Take care. Goodnight all, this enjoying yourself lark is tiring [ smile]. Wishing everyone a peaceful night.

oldgoat Mon 19-Jun-17 06:04:23

kitty I think you are very brave opening your garden to the public. It must be such a lot of work making sure that everything is perfect on the day. Hope the weather will be good for you. I love visiting Open Gardens in local villages. It's amazing what beautiful plots there are tucked away behind little cottages - and I am very nosy, too.
