Welcome lilydily9 hope you enjoy the forum. That’s awful, your grandson passing away at such a young age, so sorry to hear that.

Welcome moggie ( do you love cats?) ?

moggie Fri 02-Aug-19 11:53:18

I prefer dogs lemongrove smile I couldn’t think of a name when I joined & this was a nick name my sisters called me when I was a teenager. We did have family cat for years & she was lovely smile

Thank you for your kind words lemongrove. Yes, I'm really looking forward to reading more on the forum.

welcome both lilydily9 and moggie.
That's terribly sad Lilydily. I hope you find some comfort on here.

Welcome lilydily9 so sad to hear of your loss - we’re all besotted with our grandchildren aren’t we?

And welcome moggie - I’m more of a cat person although I do like dogs and often dog sit for friends when they go away.

Hello everybody,
I joined a couple of months ago but haven't really been able to get very involved so far. I have a poorly mum (89) in Scotland and I live 6 hours drive away, so haven't had much time lately.
Yesterday I did post something on the Health thread, asking for some advice about LS. If there's a better thread to use please say.
This seems like a really helpful friendly group and hopefully I'll be able to join in more from now on.

Hi, I joined Gransnet this morning, finding it purely by chance! I've seen many forums referring to Mumsnet but think this site may be a little more age appropriate. Looking forward to getting to know the site.

Hello everyone
I’ve just joined after a few weeks of looking on from the sidelines.
I’ve realised Mumsnet is no longer for me and I think I will feel more at home here.
Recently turned 60, empty nester, no grandchildren as yet, partner and I both recently retired and still adjusting to life “under each other’s feet”!
Native of South Yorkshire, resident just over the border in West Yorkshire for over 20 years, starting to think about downsizing.
Looking forward to joining in discussions as I’ve already seen plenty of threads to interest me.
Thanks for having me and look forward to joining in some chats!

Charleygirl5 Wed 14-Aug-19 07:54:34

Welcome Kingfishers- enjoy- there is a lot to interest most people including lots of help if necessary.

Jacks1 Wed 14-Aug-19 12:20:09

Jacks1 Wed 14-Aug-19 12:22:48

Hi there, recently turned 60 too. I'm new to this forum as well so I hope I get alot of pleasure from the chats. Happy downsizing.

Charleygirl5 Wed 14-Aug-19 14:07:10

Welcome Jacks. I found it took a while to find my way around but hopefully you will like what you see.
