Can anyone recommend a good moisturiser for dry legs.

No matter which type of lotion or creams I use, my shin bones always look dry and flaky.

Does anyone else have this problem?

If so, what's the best thing to buy or use.
Nothing greasy that doesn't sink in.

I don't want to waste money on stuff that doesn't do the job.

All suggestions welcome.

I use an oil -baby oil is cheap so you can lash it on.

Boots do a super foot cream containg Urea....you can use it on the legs of course, just not on the face.

Its the Urea content that deeply moisturises. It sinks in fast and is definately not sticky.

Using a very rich emollient, such as epaderm may do the trick. It is very greasy but apply it overnight.. During the day just use a light moisturising lotion if necessary.

Aveeno cream.......best moisturiser I've ever had.

This cream is very good - my doctor recommended it to me for the same problem:

I don't know if you can buy it in the UK, but the above website seems to send to the UK. It's very cheap, no prescription.

Another vote for Aveeno -I use the body moisturiser with wheat germ in it - if you belong to Costco they do three big tubes for a few pounds - far cheaper than buying it in a chemist.

Body shops mango body butter ..it smells lovely and is very rich and moisturizing . I have terribly dry skin due to all my heart medications that I take and this helps it enormously

I find Aqueous Cream brilliant. Available in the Supermarket and very reasonably priced.

Another vote for Aveeno - I use it everywhere.

Just coconut oil (solid oil looks like lard in a jar ) cheap as chips about £2 smells lovely unless you hate coconut

Yes definitely Aveeno. Not the cheapest but is often 1/3 off in either Boots or Superdrug

harrigran Mon 26-Jun-17 16:56:21

Aveeno always. The best nongreasy moisturiser on the market.

Megram Mon 26-Jun-17 19:29:51

Bio oil is good and I have a friend who swears by Aveeno!

Jayh Mon 26-Jun-17 19:38:23

Whatever you use to moisturise, there's no point if you don't exfoliate first. A handful of salt or sand or a proper rough massage glove, brush or body scrub (avoid the ones that pollute the water, the 'rough' bits should be otganic). Also shaving takes off loose skin. Then rub dry with a not too soft towel.

I use anything with aloe vera in.There is a good one made by Banana Boat for after sun skin, it's green, gooey and smells wonderful!

I buy Averno when I see it on offer. I have the regular kind and also Aveeno with shea butter. They are both excellent moisturisers. I use it because it was recommended by the Dermatologist who looks after my grandson skin. They both have x linked ichthiosis which causes severe dryness and scaly flakiness.

I am another fan of Bio Oil. It's quite expensive but a little goes a long way' isn't sticky and doesn't leave residue.
