Even though anxiety is a terrible feeling we must remember that it cannot actually harm us and in many ways it is our bodies way of telling us to relax and calm down if possible.
Strange as it may sound, try and befriend the anxiety. It is our bodies way of telling us to heal.
Take care Annie and try not to worry.

Thank you Dawn, anxiety on waking is quite common, we relax body and mind through the night ,abrupt waking is I suppose a shock, not explained it very well

Annie, I know exactly how you feel on waking first thing in the morning. The minute you wake, the horrible feeling in your stomach, legs, arms and dry mouth is awful. Of course not to mention the thought of another day stretching ahead and how are you going to get through it. Despite people being kind with suggestions of how to ease the symptoms it’s not easy. You have to experience it every single day to understand how debilitating it can be.

I wouldn’t want anyone to think that we indulge ourselves in self pity. It is very difficult to articulate how awful the mornings can be.

Hello all. Annie morning are always the worst time for me..wake early, can’t go back to sleep, feel sick, head racing.
But I still lay there trying so hard to get up..

Annie sorry to hear that but another apartment will come along.

I finally have something positive to say even though it is not important. Just realised I have longer nails! Could be because I haven't done much to damage them but might be because I have been taking a supplement. Oh and another one, I don't wake with anxiety so I'm sad for those that do. Mine gradually creeps up on me during the day. I'll keep looking for more.

Another positive. I don't consider myself a lucky person at all but I just looked online for the best price for my moisturiser because my luxury is quite an expensive one. The last pot I bought was at the airport and in a different package to the usual one but I was assured that it replaced the previous one and was the same price. I have just discovered I was wrongly charged, it is £225! I don't think I am any more beautiful as a result! No, I won't be paying that much for the next one.

Hello Annie and everyone....back home now and my sense of humour has been restored, well for a while at least.

Rested, did self care, didn’t think about bad things that worry me.

Train home today, boiling, passengers standing for first 2 hours, air conditioning BROKEN and OFF!

So the tip knocked off my good mood by feeling I have been temporarily boiled alive for 3.7 hours. ?

Rather an eventful day and very embarrassing

Was waiting for my support visitor from MIND, have seen him for 7 weeks.

Chatted on message to younger granddaughter, went to put iPad on coffee table, couldn’t move. Spine , neck, rigid, legs jerking , supporter arrived .

Phoned the surgery, closed for training !

He phoned number given, many, many questions, I was now
desperate to go to loo. Couldn’t move.

He was told someone would call. TWO paramedics arrived !

Had every test you could think of, they lifted me into upright position, then a third paramedic arrived, asked
would you like an ECG? I said why ? He said we offer this , you can accept or decline.

They were lovely, here nearly two hours.

They left me a Copy of the notes they were sending to surgery . They said ‘Medically Lilian does seem to have any issues !

She need to be seen by a doctor , spine problems, possibly posture , has no family and no support package has to rely on MIND charity for some support. ‘

Then advised me to avoid much use of iPad an Laptop and aded to their notes to Doctor ‘ Lilian would benefit from a visit to physiotherapist ‘ .

Quite a day yes ? X

How kind, professional and good the MIND worker and paramedics were Annie and their comments about a support package needs maybe your MIND worker to ring social services and ask for support package assessment? With GP support.

When I get morning anxiety, I lie in bed listening to the radio on headphones and playing Scrabble until it lessens a bit. Then get up and get on with what I can.

?? for anyone on this thread with anxiety this morning...

Annie that sounds horrible but you got good support. Let's hope that the notes to the GP will get some help for you. Any better today?

stressful , I will book you for x ray and appointment with consultant the same day ?

He wants my femur x rayed as well as my knee.

Spend less time on iPad increase Ensure,correct my posture and walk as little as possible, not difficult for me is it ladies ?
Chap from MIND phoned, they will take me, stay with me and bring me home, and they have planned a scenic route so I don’t have to go near the bridge or see any part of town.

More than enough about me, how is everyone, hot at a guess, it’s not even raining in Mid Wales

Annie you think about every one else, time to think about you.
Sounds like they are really supportive where you are my GP would just tell me to get on with it regardless of how one feels..
that’s very good of MIND, do they always do think like that or is it because of your agoraphobia, they sound very considerate Annie.. good luck Annie. Xx

Annie overall that sounds like a good result. You are fortunate to have such wonderful support. I know it will be very hard for you to go out, no matter how much support you have, but I believe you can do it. Make sure we all know when you are going so we can think about you and those who have a faith can pray for you.

Annie sorry to read that you are dealing with further health problems on top of everything else.
I am pleased that support has been offered (fingers crossed) to enable you to receive the necessary X-rays etc.

Although I read but do not often post, I have found this thread very helpful with my own anxiety problems.
It helps to know how others manage and get through their days.

I had to visit my doctor the other day re some blood tests, he asked how I wanted to move forward.
At this point his question was nothing to do with my anxiety or stress. However I blurted out that I would like a referral for counseling.

I have an appointment with the 'Well Person' (right terminology?) clinic at the health centre.
Its not until end of july but I really hope that it will lead to help and some useful advice. ?

As yet I have not shared ths with my DH or Family.
I dont want them to worry or to question me.
I have said that the appointment is regarding the menopause.
Not an untruth as some of my problems may indeed stem from the dreaded menopause.
However my anxiety does preceed the menopause.

Received a phone call from x ray this morning, did I think
3.45 Tuesday or 12.15 Wednesday would be the less stressful and a wheelchair will be reserved for me at the entrance .

So I will not be seeing the Consultant the same day, suppose
the GP didn’t want a two week wait for results.

I would like to add the following for all

When the GP spoke of 20 miles to the hospital and an MRI
and I had a look of horror, he changed to the other choice I
spoke of.

Whilst he was working out dates I said, sorry the agoraphobia causes problems, I was not apologising for being an agoraphobic, he said ‘never apologise, an illness is
an illness , physical or mental

So remember this my friends x

Gosh Cherry & Annie such quick work from your GPs. I have been waiting for 6 months so far for an appointment for counselling and haven't heard a word!

Yes Nannie that’s what we are like where I live, we have to wait months then you are only allowed some many sessions.
