Have a positive and a negative!

Chap from council called yesterday, explained what was to be done to front of my bungalow - new front path and levelling
area across front of bungalow so I can use Fred and put a garden bench and hand rails will be fitted. Work starting today.

They haven’t turned up, hey ho.

annie I got so excited at the beginning of your post .....until it got to the point where they didn’t turn up. ?
I do hope they come soon and do all that work. It would make such a difference to you. Fingers crossed they come soon.

Still feeling low, but taking my 'extra' calmers to keep my head above water.

I've not spoken to my GP, they can't really help, I'm under the mental health team and my meds are prescribed by them. I do have a CPN, and the team contact me by email every fortnight, Monday I was contacted, and did say that I was feeling very low, but I didn't receive any response (that's the NHS mental health services for you)!

Today, has been quite a busy day. Roxy (our dog), had a pedicure at our local pet shop, and we went straight after to walk across the marshes. We had a lovely walk, and she had an even lovelier swim in the lake. Back home for lunch and the usual jobs that we all do.

I have a couple of hours every afternoon for me so I made my daughter's last but one birthday gift, a mat for her sewing machine; she recently started sewing for the first time since school.

So not a bad day, I just need to try to shake off the low mood.

daftbag sorry you haven’t had a response from the MHT. I understand that they will need to sort out your meds rather than the GP. If you don’t mind me asking, how long have you been on your current meds and have they been working so far? Why don’t you try emailing the team back again. When my son was trying to get in touch with the MHT and got no response he found the case worker had gone off sick and no one had picked up the messages,
Glad you made some use of the afternoon and did something nice. Keeping occupied is a good way to go.

Daftbag I read your advice to a poster re mental health
problems. I am relieved to learn you have support but sorry
your CPN has been slow in contacting you. Possibly they have
so many clients now, I do know Mental Health Charities are
in much demand because the virus etc is causing much anxiety and phobias.

Doodle the path was booked for replacing in March, my hope now is they will start work here Monday. I will be able
to sit out the front on nice days and hopefully get to know
people who live in the Cul de Sac .

digger and 3 men . Digger so big I asked them if they had come to dig up the path or knock the bungalow down .

Hello Doodle they will finish Monday, I have had such a
surprise, I have a patio at the front of my bungalow, no way
did I expect that. I thought of room for a garden bench but if
I wanted I could have garden table and chairs and flower pots .

The men were lovely, I said I was not expecting so much, they
said ‘you deserve it’, in the office we saw your many ! requests
for a new path and space for a garden seat, it was decided you
needed more.

The only bungalow out of 18 to have a patio at the front , it will

After the surprise of the patio at front on bungalow I am now
unsure, facing the agoraphobia again !

It’s just change annie. I find that (particularly since lockdown) that I am used to the same routine day in day out. When anything happens as a change to that (like the plumber coming) I can feel the tension rising. You don’t have to go out annie but at least having the patio and hopefully a seat, will mean you can if you want to. Even if it takes weeks for you to take one foot outside the door, the opportunity will be there. Keep safe.

lockdown, he said ‘ it’s like permission to stay indoors’, I can
understand this. X

Morning annie. Sun shining here but we had torrential rain yesterday. I did a bit more cross stitch but had to find a small table lamp to help me see as it was so dark . I can do a fair bit by touch but if I get distracted and have to count the stitches I need a magnifying glass and a strong light.
