BlueSky hope the blood test result is good.
Chrissey hope you get your mammogram soon and discover all is well.
Joce so pleased about the budgie, pets are important.
Thanks for all the good wishes, cavity is fine but I still have the infection which means my throat and neck are very sore. DH is liquidising food for me as swallowing is difficult. I know it will get better but it is rather getting me down. Hoping I will be able to take friend for a medical appointment on Thursday but DH will do it if I don't feel up to it.
Feeling very emotional as DS took 6 year old shopping yesterday and he got upset because Daddy wouldn't buy him things he wanted. DS couldn't see why he wanted them but when he calmed down it was Christmas presents for us! He is such a thoughtful boy and has always looked after and shared with others. Just wish I could go and give him a big hug. I really do have a wonderful family so should stop whinging.
Morning everyone,
Joce Sl glad that your little friend is doing better. DH is feeling a lot better thank you. Yes you’re right, the waiting is the hardest part.
Morning Annie We’re going for a walk later. Hope you have a good day.
Thank you Nonnie. Hoping to hear about the mammogram today. I’m on edge waiting to find out when it will be.
I’m sorry you’re still in pain and not able to swallow very well. I hope that you’re soon feeling a lot better. Your grandson sounds like a very thoughtful little boy, bless him.
Hope everyone else is ok.
Have a good day everyone x
Morning all x Lovely sunny day so yes usual walk around the park, not a big park but adequate, love watching the children playing and dogs running around! Autumn colours at their best.
Nonnie thanks DH’s blood test is only a routine because he’s on medication but it’s good to have a bit of a check up. The (large) nurse remarked that he could do with losing a few pounds, suggesting the usual, cutting back on ‘fattening’ food and walking which we already do! My grandsons were just like yours, so thoughtful and caring and still are.
Chrissy I’m waiting for an abdominal ultrasound on Friday, don’t mind that as it’s an easy test, but won’t be able to have breakfast or even my coffee. I’m not sure I can manage that! Hope you’ll hear about yours soon.
Annie hope you are OK.
Have a good day all x

Had short walk this morning Annie, rain rain and more rain hear again..
upset today like a lot more I’m sure, we have gone into high category hear, this horrible virus is certainly starting to get to me now...
feeling really sorry for me today.. I know I shouldn’t things could be worse. Sorry for the rant..
how’s everyone else coping with things.
Have a good day all
Enjoy your walk Chrissy x
BlueSky my brother went on one of my favourite walks yesterday, along the tow path of the canal, he video parts of it
for me, I so want to do that walk again, did I really go on a
seven mile stroll !
The ultrasound will be ok , your tummy problems will be sorted and all will be well x
Joyce it isn’t raining in Mid Wales , wow, . The virus is getting to millions my love, it’s the norm now x
Hello all.
Hi Annie - hope you are having a good day. In answer to your question This morning we did a little shopping and went to pick up an order from M and S ( some Spider-Man p j ,s for GGS Xmas) . It has made such a difference to us here to have this new store out of town. Then we had a walk in the rain this afternoon. I thought how uncomfortable it must be to be a sheep in the rain with those heavy wet coats but they looked happy enough. What a nice brother you have - such a thoughtful thing to do. I believe you will go out again and enjoy your lovely countryside when things get better,
Chrissy - glad your DH is feeling better. You sound a bit more positive about your worries I know how hard it is to put them out of your head. Try and do some nice things and pass your time enjoyably over the next couple of weeks.
Nonnie glad your cavity is healing up and soon you,ll be back to normal. Mushy food after dental treatment is horrid isn,t it- always happens after implants but at least you lose a bit of weight! What a dear little boy your GS is to be so thoughtful.
Won,t it be wonderful when we can hug everyone again.
Hope you had a good walk Bluesky.
Joce yes the virus is wearing us all out I think . Early this morning we had a BT man come to put in anew hub. I can,t tell you how nervous I felt while he was here- a stranger in my house was horrible - poor man. I was trembling so much inside with that awful sinking feeling too. Took awhile to feel better but then went out and it’s been a nice day after all. I guess it’s because he was in my safe place. I hope you have managed to have a nice day too.
Doodle I,m fine thanks the A fib has been behaving itself lately? just still feel scared a lot but so are lots of people I,m sure . Enjoy your caravan break.
Have a good evening everyonexx
Evening everyone,
BlueSky Hope you enjoyed your walk. Hope your ultrasound is fairly early in the morning so you don’t have to wait too long for your coffee.
Joce Glad you managed to get out for your walk despite the rain. I’m sure everyone understands your thoughts about the virus. It doesn’t help not knowing when we might be over the worst.
Thanks Annie the weather was nice when we went for our walk. That’s lovely that your brother filmed his walk so that you could see what it looked like. I hope you will be able to get out soon.
Scaredycat Walking in the rain is lovely if you’re dressed for it. I’m pleased to hear that the A fib is ok at the moment.
I’m a bit upset because I still don’t know if I’m having the mammogram on Thursday. I phoned the hospital this afternoon to be told that the radiographer had contacted my GP surgery today but they didn’t know why. They promised to ask her to phone me. Later I phoned the surgery to check and they said that nobody had phoned about me. I have no idea what’s going on.
Sleep well everyone x
Scaredycat you are doing so well , a walk, shopping, and having the BT chap in your safe place, you deserve a ? x
Chrissy how stressful the messing around with your mammogram appointment, hope it’s sorted tomorrow x
Doodle thinking of you with love x
Hello all. Been without wi fi till tonight, very intermittent here. Not been the best of holidays so far. We arrived yesterday afternoon in torrential rain. By 6pm DH was complaining of feeling unwell he began shaking violently and lapsed into unconsciousness quite quickly. Ambulance arrived very quickly by when DH was talking a little. They said he had a raging fever and needed to go to hospital. To cut a long story short he has sepsis and possible mild chest infection. He was put onto intravenous antibiotics and given oxygen to help with the breathing. They got his temperature down and I am very pleased to say he’s back in the caravan with me tonight. He has a weeks worth of antibiotics to take which will hopefully get rid of any remaining infection. It hasn’t been quite the relaxing holiday we anticipated.
Going to bed shortly as neither of us slept much last night.
chrissy hope your DH is feeling better and your mammogram goes ahead.
scaredycat glad the A fib is behaving,
nonnie at last the tooth is out. Hope it’s not too painful.
joce, bluesky lavender hope you are all ok.
Annie those cross stitch ideas from your DGDs are lovely. Nice of your brother to video a walk for you so you can watch it over and over.
Take care all and sleep well.
Anniebach don't know if you were aware of the "Dog House" group, a few of us who had been suspended for breaking the rules, but while we were unable to post, we were all thinking of you and sending every good wish.
Yes we had a pleasant walk thanks, Annie your brother’s walk sounds lovely, 7 miles wow! DH getting rather restless now, he’s the one who misses travelling the most. My ultrasound won’t be till 11.30am, just think no coffee and toast, how on earth am I going to manage?? Unless I get up at 5.30 for breakfast!
Chrissy how annoying when they mess you about, never mind it’ll soon be over.
Good night all, sleep well x
Doodle just read your post! Thank goodness your DH is back from hospital, can’t believe how things can develop so quickly! Try and get some rest x
Doodle how worrying and upsetting, thank God you husband made a good recovery, you were on your own in a caravan, for you ???? x
Phoenix I didn’t know you had been suspended, but you ?
we have been on this forum for several years , in honesty I
cannot understand why, a wooden spoon in your midst ?
Thank you for your kind words
Annie x
Annie hope you enjoy your walk along the canal...x
Doodle how upsetting for you both glad your DH is back with you.. hope you both rest well tonight...
Bluesky hope your scan goes well.
Chrissy hope your mammogram goes ahead on Thursday for you..
Bluesky my DH is the one that misses travelling the most...
Scaredycat my granddaughter loves SpiderMan, my son managed to get her the girl version on Spider-Man she is so pleased with it ?
Hope everyone has a peaceful night sleep ?
Hi all x
Going to computer shop this morning, meeting a friend for a coffee in the book shop, this afternoon taking Lottie and Rosie for a walk through the Groves .
I wish
BlueSky yes, lots of medics are overweight but comment on ours. I recently looked at my records for the date of my last blood test and saw that someone had recorded my 'ideal weight' as 7st 12lbs. The lower end of my normal BMI is 7st 5lb so I thank that would be going a bit far.
Good luck with the ultrasound but even more luck with going without the coffee
Rant away Joce we are in the high category too but are going even further in the belief that we need to all do our best or more will be ill and the economy will suffer more in the long term. I know not everyone agrees but it is our opinion. There are days when, no matter how positive we try to be, it all gets on top of us.
Scardycat you are not living up to your name! You are thinking positively about Christmas which is more than I can do. Will be able to give things to fairly local family but not any of the others so can't think about shopping for them.
Chrissey sad to say that doesn't surprise me. I think when we actually get treatment it is pretty good but the admin is atrocious, suggest you keep up the pressure.
Oh Doodle what a horrible thing to happen! Good thing you called an ambulance as sepsis can be dreadful if not caught quickly. I'm sure you will be keeping a close eye on him now.
Phoenix I didn't know about that group, mind is boggling about what you got up to to get suspended. Were you a very bad girl?
Annie you can do it in your head and dream that one day you actually will. Any news on the neighbour?
I've been out for my first walk in a week! It is a lovely day and the trees are beautiful. I'm applying for a permit to walk in the local sailing club for somewhere different to go and give me a purpose. Still got the infection but it is improving and I'm doing a few things today so must be a bit better. Still thankful for my blessings in between whinging about not being able to get on with my life.
Good morning everyone
Hope you are ok Annie xx
Just read about your husband Doodle I am so sorry to hear what happened, glad he is back with you - how very worrying.
Hope you are feeling better Nonnie and your pain after your extraction is lessening.
Bluesky hope the ultrasound is over and done with quickly.
Sorry to hear your appointment is being messed up ChrissyR, it just gets all too much doesn't it, I do wonder if half the people who are doing these things have a clue tbh.
Scardeycat we are in troubling times, and I know what you mean about having someone in the house - I hate it at the best of times, never mind at present. Take care.
Joyce I'm glad your little chap is feeling better and I know how things are making us all feel fed up. It feels as though it will never end.
The sun is trying to get through here, but I doubt it will be for long, black clouds are trundling along as they have been for days. I have more sorting out to do which I may or may not do.
Take care everyone, stay safe and love to all xx
Morning all x
Annie I do wish what you put would/will become reality, such uncertainty again but what can we do?
Yes Nonnie I’m really going to miss that
early morning coffee, obviously I’m addicted to the stuff, I don’t think I can function without it, I’m considering getting up really early to be able to have a cup, toast can always wait!
As I said elsewhere I didn’t know anything about the Dog House, people must know by messaging one another?
Just received my online shopping, rinsed most stuff in hot water, not sure whether it’s a waste of time, put away and that’s enough work for a day!
Have a pleasant day x

Hello all
Annie dream away it’s the best we can do for now, I bet it’s the best coffee you have ever had.. x
Nonnie we have rain again hear, I love all the beautiful colours autumn.. yes I grumble but really have thankfully for every day I’m blessed with..
Lavender it does feel like it will never end.. the thing that I can’t deal with is not seeing my kids, I am so fed up with crying my heart feels so heavy.. sorry..
Bluesky I still wash all my shopping just feel I need to do it still
Hope you all have a beautiful happy day.
Keep smiling and plodding..
Afternoon everyone
Thank you Annie Coffee in a book shop sounds amazing, right up my street. Sorry I’ve just seen the I wish, not sure if you meant the whole thing wasn’t happening or just the part about taking the dogs for a walk flowers
Doodle I’m so sorry to hear about your DH, that must have been very scary for you both. I hope he’s feeling well soon.
BlueSky Your DH sounds like me, I’m getting agitated about no travel. My DH isn’t particularly bothered and isn’t letting the virus get to him at all. I think that getting up at 5.30 on Friday is a must
Joce Thank you for your kind words.
Nonnie Glad you had a nice walk. I hope you get a permit to walk in the sailing club. Good news that the infection seems to be on it’s way out.
lavenderzen Hope you manage to do a bit of sorting out.
I phoned the hospital again and they said that my referral had been rejected. They said that they only do mammograms for women with symptoms. I couldn’t believe it, I told them that I’d phoned for info before asking my GP for a referral making it quite clear that it was a 3 yearly routine mammogram and they told me how much it would cost. I’m very disappointed. I phoned the NHS screening service and they’ve had a cancellation for tomorrow so I booked it. The problem is that I could be waiting 3 weeks for the results which is going to be so hard for me.
Hope everyone has a good afternoon x
Chrissy 3 weeks is a long wait but would it not cause you more stress if that appointment hadn’t been available?
It is a routine check up, you have no symptoms, so many are
having appointments cancelled
Thank you all for your good wishes. DH is feeling much better thanks.
chrissy I think with annie’s agoraphobia the whole thing is just a wish or a dream. It would be so lovely if you could do such things annie. I hope for the day when you can get out of your door and go out on Fred.
Chrissy really sorry about your let down with the mammogram. I know how you hate waiting for those results. The best thing now is to have your NHS appointment and then grit your teeth. I expect it is useless of me to say don’t worry but I’m sure you have nothing to worry about. I tend to think these days that even if the worst happens there are so many options for treatment. So many things that can be done, you stand a good chance of survival anyway. Take care.
Joce it is a depressing period in our lives for sure. I know you are missing your children and grandchildren but hopefully you will all be safe and in the fullness of time this will pass. Could you try making something for them or thinking of things you could make with them when this virus is over.
Bluesky the Doghouse group were 4 long term GN who were suspended from GN for a week or two because for some reason GN thought they had been bullying or rude to another poster. Whilst I am totally opposed to bullying in any form, I find it very hard to believe the Doghouse group (Knowing them for many years) would resort to that. They are not nasty people in fact MawB is one of the kindest people I have met on GN. She got suspended on the day she had written a heart rending post about the death of her first child. I think the powers that be in GN have dealt unjustly with those suspended and I am among many who thought it totally unfair.
I’m still washing my shopping too. It’s such a time wasting occupation but I still do it.
Nonnie glad you are feeling better and getting out walking.
Annie thank you for the flowers. Hope you are ok in your part of Wales and your MT can still visit.
Lavender hope you and your family are ok.
scaredycat and lucyanne hope you are both doing well.
Take care all x
A belated good afternoon to all.
Doodle - oh how sorry I was to hear what happened to your DH. You must have been so worried. Good news he is back in the caravan with you. Glad he received what must have been very good care. Hope you both manage to sleep ok and enjoy your stay as best you can.
Blue Sky - my DH too is missing our travels very much . I do too but right now can,t imagine ever going again.
Annie - I wishI could make that day come true for you- I hope one day it willxx
Nonnie - the pj ,s were for my GGS who lives very close so we will be able to give him and his sister their presents. But this will be my first Xmas when it’s just us on The Day as we would well exceed the rules. It must have been so good to be out walking again especially as your weather was good.glad the infection is getting better.
Lavender - hope the sun shines on you but black clouds do seem the order of the day at the moment. Only do your sorting if you feel like it -if not chill out and do something nice.
Bluesky - you really must love your coffee!! I still clean my shopping too and every week I say to myself “that,s the last time “ and then do it again the next week.
Chrissy- glad you got an appointment. Then try and forget it especially as you have no symptoms. Easier said than done I know.
My son is on holiday by the sea this week and he has sent me a little video of his youngest dog sitting on the waters edge and singing a little doggy song. It is so sweet and made me feel happy.
Take care everyone and hope you all enjoy your evening. Xx
