Hi All. Anniebach that’s really bad about the physiotherapist. Can you ring to see what’s happening? Not sure anyone is really coping well. The fact that we can’t go out or meet anyone is so hard and really can’t imagine how it is for you Annie. Do you have a mobile phone to keep close so if you did fall you could call 999?
My husband had his second Covid jab yesterday so he was one of the lucky ones but he was very ill in the summer so assume that’s why he got his first. The rest of us just wait!

Hello Jane , I too doubt anyone is coping well.

I have telephoned the physiotherapy dept, answer machine which is odd there is a full time receptionist there, they are not making any appointments, leave telephone number if one
needs advice by telephone.

I have a pendant to press if I fall, unfortunately I don’t have
anyone they can ring to come to me, no family and neighbours are older than me.

If I had to press they will ring the police who will come , they
will then ring for ambulance if needed. But things have change so much because of the virus, police are on the mountain roads checking traffic and the poor paramedics plus their ambulances are miles away trying to get very ill people into hospitals in other counties .

Like so many I am finding this lockdown more difficult than
last year, haven’t seen anyone since my mini tornado was here
end of September, the pain is the problem.

I am ok , I do cross stitching, read poetry, do crosswords and
killer sudoku and listen to music.

How are you ? It is great your husband has had two jabs , yes
we have to wait,

Jan - You are right I don’t think anyone is coping so well this time. Every week that passes is another week that you feel robbed of and the weather has been awful too. You must feel relieved that your husband has had both his jabs now. Hope you get yours soon too.
Annie- How are you today? Hope the sun is shining on you today. It’s very sunny here today but freezing cold. Had a nice walk but not a snowdrop in sight!! Lots of Daffs coming through now though.
Is it possible your GP could help you contact the physio? It really is important for you to get your knee stabilised especially as you don’t really have anyone to help you if you fall. I really do feel for you. I am full of admiration for the way you keep busy too. Do you have any favourite TV programmes you watch? I don’t know what we,d do without it.

Scardycat. Think the weathers not helping. Last time it was spring and so warm and 1000 deaths 2 days running is very scary.
Annie - I’m ok but think it will all start to get to me soon!

Scaredycat true it is more difficult this time, well it is for me, I was ok during the lockdown last Spring, 17 weeks didn’t
see anyone and as for bed linen ! ! ! !

I have a pile of cross stitching I am working on, and watch tv
programmes on BritBox, enjoying the old tv programmes like
Call The Midwife, Morse etc.

You have seen daffs, I am thrilled if mine come for 1st March.

Annie DH is doing much better. Still hurts when he stands up but he is much more mobile. Thanks for asking.
Why oh why do you keep getting let down by these healthcare people.
Did you leave a message on the physio phone line. They should respond.
I don’t know how you cope Annie I really don’t. You carry on despite everything. I’m glad you are still doing your cross stitch but I hope for the time you can get out and meet with people again.
I find this lockdown is a little odd. Certainly the vaccinations are closer which is more positive than last time but on the other hand the virus seems to be more virulent.
We can but hope they get to grips with this vaccination program and hope things improve.
I usually spot the first of the daffodils when they come up as there are thousands that come by the riverside but I haven’t been for a walk since DH fell down the stairs. I can’t go out and leave him as I’m frightened he might fall again.
Hope all the BDG are getting on ok. Spring is coming. The flowers will too. We must all stick together and hold on

Joyce I have the telephone number of the physiotherapy dept, I have left a message on their answer phone, yes I am in
much pain and this isn’t helped by the muscle wastage .
Keep looking for snowdrops , think how something which looks so delicate is so strong x

No idea why I keep being let down, it just happens. In fairness to the physiotherapy dept, I don’t know what they are trying to cope with.

Annie- sorry if I misled you but I didn,t see Daffodil flowers only lots of them growing really quickly and hope they,ll be out soon. It made me feel hopeful for the Spring.
Today is Tesco delivery day- seems like it’s about 3 times a week! I got more relaxed for a while when unpacking but now I,m afraid the anxiety is back so I,ve been cleaning it again. ?

Morning all x Nothing to report here, same old same old and my problem is really DH, I think this lockdown is affecting his mental health. I’m afraid I’m not very sympathetic as I mostly do what I usually do in lockdown or not. Scaredy same here just when I was starting to relax a little about deliveries etc we are back into it. Yes you are right my delivery day comes round so fast, same as bin day!

Tesco deliveries ? never thought I would be thankful for bottles of meal replacements, no fresh food to worry about.

I do leave all deliveries for 4 days and then wash them, decided not to add to my anxiety and stress , even wash the bottles which have been stored for several weeks .

No contact from physiotherapist !

Bluesky It must be hard with your DH. If it is mental health it can be very tiring.

scaredycat I never stopped cleaning my shopping. I don’t like doing it and whether it helps or not I don’t know but I will carry on for a while.
Bluesky do you and DH go out for walks. Might do you both good to go out together and look for snowdrops ?
Does your DH have any hobbies he’s interested in?
I wish you could have proper food Annie. I don’t imagine those liquid replacement meals are very interesting food wise.

Doodle I don’t allow myself to think of proper food, I couldn’t stand long enough to put meat in the oven, couldn’t
prepare veg , I could sit down to do that but can’t hold a knife
so I am thankful for the meal replacements x

Yes I can understand that Annie. I just wish you could have something more nourishing. I also wish you didn’t have to wash all those bottles.
How is your MT getting on, is she fully recovered now?

My mini tornado is in the middle of exams, I have to persuade
her not to come here to help me, she needs to study, rest and
go for walks . Yes she fully recovered, well I hope she has,she told me she was. I haven’t seen her since end of September, miss her so much x

How is everyone coping today , how are you coping with the
lockdown ?

Good afternoon everybody in BDG.
Bluesky- sorry your to hear lockdown is getting to your husband. I know how he feels as we are both people who love to get out and about and see friends and family often. Does he enjoy a daily walk - it really is important to get out in the air and nature.
Annie- do hope the physio is able to see you next week. Good to hear your MT is fully recovered and able to resume her studies etc. She must miss you very much too.
This Lockdown is proving much harder than last time. The weather has been awful and not seeing family is heartbreaking again. However today the sun is shining and the sky is lovely and blue so we could walk round the lanes again. No snowdrops yet !!!Then had a Face time with one of my Grandaughters and Great Grandson which was lovely.
She is working with Covid patients and it’s becoming very challenging to say the least. So I think we have to take pleasure in the little things at the moment and take one day at a time.
I hope you are all enjoying something today and wish you all a good evening and peaceful sleepxx

Annie, your DGD is lucky to have a grandma that thinks of her needs first. I hope your MT does well in her exams. She is a lovely caring young lady who deserves to do well. Hope there is news from the physio soon.
Scaredycat a good daily walk is important. We are missing our routine. I agree, the last lockdown was easier because the weather was better.

Scaredycat I so hope the physiotherapist will be available to
speak to on Monday , the pain is really bad now . Keep going
for walks please, I think I am paying a heavy price for being
agoraphobic.

Doodle I am lucky to have my mini tornado, truly blessed,
when I think back to the worries we had when she was a toddler, my darling daughter even wanted her to have home
schooling.

I am at work tommorow, but I feel very very tired, just want to sleep, no other symptoms.
I have not been out for the last 3 days which is unheard if for me. I think I need to go out every day, for a walk.
My ex husband did his family tree, and mine, and I found out in my 30's I was adopted. I was upset for a while, but boy did it answer alot of things that did not make sense. I do not feel hurt or upset by it now. How long have you been doing it Annie
Joce I agree with you that it is boring, it's also a feeling I cant quite describe.
Some people have truly shown there good side during lock down, and others have really surprised me and shown true nasty colours.
This thread in my opinion is the nicest on Gransnet, people are supportive and genuinely interested in each other. I can say I have been thankful for it.
I hope everyone is having a good day. I am trying to keep awake and keep occupied.

Joyce do keep going for walks. I so remember a psychiatrist
telling me a year after the death of my husband, ‘ eat well,
and walk as much as you can, this was 1977 !

I have done family trees for over 18 years, done several for
other families too, I learned so much about my ancestors and things such as ‘the poor law’, and workhouses.

Annie I hope you get through to the physio on Monday. Sorry your pain is so bad. If you can’t get her, try the doctor again. They should be helping you.
I think your MT is a very special young lady, who obviously thinks the world of you. ?

Depression makes me tired. If I feel low, all I want to do is sleep. Are you still worried about work?
