I did Dry January a few years ago as a charity fundraiser and what I actually did was eat LOADS. This time I am doing for health reasons and have joined Slimming World as well - anyone joining me here for DJ?

I don't drink but I'll have to pull the reins in on smoking as to my mind there's no need nor point in either. Too much lung cancer through smoking and breast cancer with alcohol.

BigBertha1 I'm doing Dry January too. I do enjoy a drink but don't do so excessively. I've done it in the past successfully and I know it's been beneficial for me - so yes let's support each other all we can ?

I usually do DJ and there is a useful Dry January app you can get which tracks how many calories and £££s you’ve saved. I’m doing it by default this year as I’ve managed to stay dry since last October which is pretty much a first as I certainly used to enjoy a glass or two with a meal or just relaxing. I have lost weight though, now trying to put some back on which isn’t as easy as it sounds.

It's the last day and nearly there. I definitely won't be having an alcohol today and have kept to the SW plan. 12 lbs lost.

Well done Bertha on the weight loss - 12lbs really makes a difference doesn't it.

I've had a dryish January and will continue with that as part of my 'wellness' regime smile

Just looked at this and all I got from it was that blue sky let a checkout assistant change her habits. Made me realise that perhaps I am not as silly as I thought when do similar. Do not drink much nor have ever and try to follow my own priorities as each other week seems to have an avalanche of charitable prompts,
