Doodle I hope you managed to sleep ok and the dizziness and headache didnt return. Dizziness can make you feel sick too. Is your DH ok today too? I think he has an assessment coming up soon, unless Ive made a mistake.
Scaredycat Oh Im so very sorry about the AF. I feel angry for you, its so not fair. I wish it would leave you be. You're bound to miss such a caring and understanding GP. It really makes a difference when a GP can know us and our problems. This can only happen if we can keep same one. Glad u managed a little walk. I must go to neach soon. I like it best when tide is out though there is a path along top of sand dunes. Hope AF leaves you be tonight.

HVDY Oh no! Not what you expected at all. You've so much to give as a carer and this doesn't sound right at all. Heating must have been a nightmare when you're working. I hope it wont be like that next time - - it takes the biscuit! What a disappointment.

Not done a lot or go to the meeting!

What a day. Ben on phone all afternoon trying to sort out holiday insurance for DH and his meds from the pharmacy. Then I lost my precious dressmaking scissors. Spent ages searching for them. Been through the rubbish bins looked everywhere. Found them eventually in a box of material scraps 😡. My fault but at least I’ve got them now.
Sweetpeasue yes better today thank you. I’ve had problems with the crystals before but yesterday made me feel quite nauseous. Hope you’ve had a better day too.
Ellie Anne your DD is between a rock and a hard place really. Trying not to let others down but stressing herself in the process. So unfair. Hope the workload gets better soon.

I’m so sorry about the AF. You sound a bit like my DH. Coping with all that’s thrown at you for a while then feeling down sometimes when it all gets too much. You are certainly not moaning. It must be hard to put up with AF so much. Hope it settles and gives you some relief soon.
Is your cruise from the UK? We did plan a walk today as it did look nice and sunny but I spent all afternoon on the phone so didn’t get to go in the end.

Wyllow are you near any rolling landscapes in Yorkshire. Must be a nice place to live.

but as a child holidays were Filey, and north to Brunswick Bay and Staithes and the North Yorks Moors. My sis lives in Devon but the south is Unknown Territory.

I'm hoping "the man" doesn't want me to go again. I think an hour or so every day would be better for him but I wouldn't do that. I can't see how he'd find enough things for me to do for the 2 days we agreed upon.

It sounds as if he is socially funded HVDY and can choose how to spend his care but is very bad at doing it.

I'd be tempted to cut my losses, HVDY because there are some lovely people out there who would really really appreciate and need you not treat you like an on call cleaner. I'm sure he has people difficulties but you have a lot on your plate too.

Yesterday's taking it easier did help as I enjoyed my gym session more and thank goodness Sky engineer arrived right at the beginning of the wait just now.

And in walks this cheerful young women, busy climbing up ladders for the sky dish and cheerfully, "don't worry love I'll sort it all out for you". (I so feel a bit more at ease with a woman tradesperson and think its lovely to see more around). Now can still get afternoon rest when it's done.

Wyllow Thanks, I'll ring him over the weekend and say I won't go again. He had a stroke (he hasn't recovered anywhere near as well as I have) 4 years ago, said he's never had anyone helping him until now . I wonder if he has but that they've got fed-up with him. I'm glad you've got your Sky dish sorted out (I've never seen or known of a woman doing that job, but good for her).

Willow I don’t share much but she puts my mood down to depression and would have me on medication. Having tried that I know it’s not the answer. It’s different for her she has been under psychiatric care for many years and will never be able to live with out medication u less there is a miracle cure. I don’t mention her dad. She knows things are not good but it’s not fair to talk about it. My boys are the same. They just ignore it. I might go home tomorrow if she is busy but if she’s around I will stay.
Hvdy i don’t think I would feel comfortable working for that man. It all seems a bit odd.

SweetPeaSue-I too love the beach when the tide is out especially walking barefoot in the watery sand. To live near a beach would be wonderful.

Doodle- I always dread the holiday insurance challenge. We have an annual policy but think next time it might be cheaper if we do it per holiday . Yes our holiday is from UK- no flying hooray!!!

HVDY- I think we are all thinking the same about “your Man” . You need someone who you are comfortable with and doesn’t mess you about. You,re probably right about other helpers too. Best not to go back but disappointing for you I,m sure. Hopefully the next person will be someone you can get on with and who appreciates your help . 🤞
EllieAnne- I,m sure your DD appreciates your being there even though sh doesn’t really show it. So difficult for you- my heart goes out to you.

Wyllow no insurance yet we are waiting to hear from the broker. Hope we get it as we are looking forward to holiday but not counting our chickens.
I believe we will go to the assessment centre again after DH has had his final test. He’s still waiting for the physio they promised weeks ago. Funny enough I had a woman delivery driver with my Waitrose order. I told her it’s the first time I’d seen a woman delivering groceries. Well done you SKy person for getting the job done.

Hard when people are forced to work beyond normal levels. It’s happened to my son before too.

Ellie Anne you DD obviously is aware of the situation with your DH. I imagine that this contributes considerably to your feeling low. Medication can’t fix a marital problem I wouldn’t think. Hope you get to spend some relaxing time with your DD.

Yes the insurance is a big problem now with all DHs conditions. Bit worried they might refuse us. We only ever unsure per holiday but that’s still a worry.
I’ve just read about your sister. I’m so sorry. Has this all come on suddenly? Of course I will pray for her and hope she is being well taken care of.
Sweetpeasue Annie how have you been today?

Doodle- she has had a bad cold /virus since before Christmas with a terrible cough- not Covid .Because of all the problems with her children she has done far too much and also Christmas stuff etc. she is so selfless that I think she overdid it so she got more and more poorly and deteriorated this week culminating in ambulance and admission to hospital. I am so worried about her because of her condition. Thank you for your kindness. Sleep well

EllieAnne I know that medication isn't the solution for everyone. Personally, I'd rather be on happy pills for the rest of my life than ever feel like I once did. I hope you're able to stay with your daughter over the weekend. I think you're right about the man.

Doodle I happened to see "Rip-off Britain" (Angela Rippon, Gloria Hunniford and another lady), and they were talking about insurance policies for cruises! Be careful, they said some policies don't cover the whole cost if the cruise is cancelled, and some charge a large fee if the customer cancels.

The more I think about the man, the more puzzled I become. We got on great, talked a lot, but then he's messing me about - so I'll tell him to look for someone else. I don't need his £10 an hour, it was to give me a bit of a purpose/routine/wanting to help someone.

Doodle I understand concern about waiting for results of scan. It's awful to wait for scans but the whole process of getting results through can take a while too.At the scan appt
radiographers can often give you an idea of when results will be through but can still be vague. I know you'll chase things up as you're used to these medical appt for DH. Hope you can get there ok next week. I did have walk along beach😊. I had a good 'back to normal' day.
HVDY I'm glad you're not going back to that man's house again. You always go the extra mile for people and it wasnt right you having to do so much cleaning and not enough caring, which is what you are skilled and trained to do. One of sisters is self-employed cleaner and she says it's really exhausting to work in over-heated houses. Hope your son is ok and his eczema is no worse poor lad.
Wyllow I woke in early hrs and mind was racing through everything, it wouldnt stop. Shame we all haven't an on/off switch. I couldnt face another legal enquiry and I was geeling ok, tide was out so walked along beach. Often, even walking, my thoughts wont stop completely. Think I was born to overthink and analyse which doesnt help my situation. DH often has different arty/craft things so I engaged brain in picking up v flat pebble stones to make pictures. (different shapes for eyes, bodies, limbs) I quite enjoyed it and it stopped racing mind. Hope youve been ok today with bowel and thoughts.
EllieAnne You yourself live in such a beautiful country. I hope things are ok at your DDs. Not sure how long you're stopping. Im sure she means well encouraging antidepressants but only you will know if it's for you right now.

SweetpeaSue Thanks. Son's eczema has settle down a lot - his GF has got a dog and 2 indoor cats (my cats were always allowed out so didn't bother him, growing up) and she had the heating on all day. He's just gone with DH to pick up a van, in order to collect some furniture and a lot of boxes of household stuff from GF's parents.

It's a grey, wet morning here. My aqua aerobics friend is in Lanzarote and put some photos on Facebook of the nice time she's having . Hope everyone manages to have a decent day x

Scaredycat I do hope your dear sister is one the mend. She seems to have had a lot to cope with recently. Hope she is getting the best possible care.
HVDY we usually cruise with Saga who only charge £75 per cruise. However, DH has so many different diagnoses now I wonder if they will continue to accept us.
I am sorry that your attempt to help others has been abused a bit by the man who doesn’t seem to know what he wants. Hope something more suitable comes your way soon.
Hope your sons collection from GFs house doesn’t cause him any more upset. Glad his skin is settling. Must be so upsetting for him.
We got given a bottle of bubbly for Christmas and had it tonight. I feel a trifle woozy. Pleasant but very sleepy.
I think coffee and chocolate is in order now.
Sweetpeasue DH and I aren’t particularly concerned about the scan. He has so many medical conditions we have always worked on the basis that it’s better to know than to hide your head in the sand. Hopefully it won’t be anything bad but we shall see. DH’s life has been saved so many times by tests that have shown something might be a problem. We are grateful that he has always been taken care of. I know that this is not the case with you or others.
Oh yes, I too would love an on/off switch. Like you I overthink everything and ruminate in it all the time. My friend does something similar to your DH making pictures out of stones. Unfortunately, we don’t live near a beach so can’t steal any.

Doodle I completetly agree that its better to get things sorted as nearly always things can be dealt with and often we worry unnecessarily. Ive always appreciated the mainly good medical care Ive had. DH enjoys many 'arty' hobbies, painting, carving, though if I was asked to draw a cat it would have 2 circles and triangle for ears and a few whiskers!
I'm starting to drastically ration coffee and chocolate in order to help bladder pain. 😭 Enjoy 😂
HVDY My son had those allergy tests and found he was allergic to cats and horses. He was never going to be given a pony! Hope your son has managed to collect his things without bother.

Been a strange time. yesterday later on had letter from solicitor that my divorce has gone through. I stayed up till 2pm probably not wanting the night, extra meds to sleep: No more once then.
Since then I have gone into a kind of muffled exhaustion not able to think much or feel much and so tired can just about physically get bit of food and hot water bottles and not energy to get dressed. Brief hellos by WhatsApp with DiL this morning let 'enough" and things feel rather distant.

Things will change..things never stay still... just dont know how..instead of whatiffereies its "duh" with anxiety but not understanding, but music has been helping..

DH and Son2 collected the furniture, large pictures and lots of boxes, took them all to a storage unit. He bought a lot of stuff here, too, including more clothes (2 more suitcases full), shoes, boxed of "stuff". His skin is less angry but still problematic. Son1 came round too, and all 3 of them went to the pub down the road for a pint (all 3 were driving so only had one each). Son2 is meeting his GF on Monday evening, for a chat about what arrangement they can make - he wants to be involved with the pregnancy, etc. DH and Son2 have both gone to bed early, as they were knackered after all the lifting today. Hope all on BD has a peaceful night x
