The one I had doesn't appear to be working. Can anyone suggest a virbrator that works and doesn't tire the hands? It would be for my own use as my husband hasn't been interested in sex for many years. I am 74.

The schools are off for the exam kids. Someone having a laugh.

kircubbin as I said yesterday, OP has posted before on day to day subjects over the last few years, not a new person

Is this like a massage chair, ie it helps with back problems?
confused

I don’t know why people are being so juvenile and rude. It’s a perfectly reasonable question if fingers and wrists are becoming arthritic. Something that can be held in the palm or rest lightly on the fingers and placed where you want it rather than gripped might be more comfortable.

Cosmo have published an article on vibrators for older women. It’s based on products available in the US but many of them, or something similar, can be brought in the UK.

Alternatively have chat with someone in Ann Summers.

Thank you Silverbrooks, for your sensible answer.

The only thing that puts me off getting a vibrator is if one of my children were going through my things after I'd died!

But if you're dead you wouldn't care!!

I know some older people still have sexual needs - but this thread has made me feel slightly sick 🤢

No-one has explained how they are different once you get over 70.

Allira after my husband died we did have a vibrator. But I threw it away as I didn't want my children finding it .

This is a true story but hopefully will make someone smile .. My brother was helping a friend using his van to move his mom to a new home . As they where driving along a buzzing noise was heard from a holdall. So they stopped, the son opened the bag to find several sex toys . He turned the vibrator off. And my brother noticed it said dishwasher safe.

Once they got the mom settled into her new home . She offered them tea and cake my brother said no thank . The son had a cup of tea as he took a mouth of tea my brother said dishwasher safe. He's friend choked while I brother laughed his head off.

This happened 10 years ago and is true.

Didn’t realise you can buy them with UsB charge port - brilliant idea as batteries run out quickly.

Retired65, have you never watched Grace and Frankie? Anyone who has watched this wonderful series will know the link I am getting at.....it is hilarious.

I think I read this on a similar thread here, some time ago. An electric toothbrush can be used as a vibrator. Not the bristles side, I hasten to add. Thus no worries when you die

Janiepops Thu 08-May-25 16:35:29

Can’t make my mind up if this is a wind up, but, in case it’s not, here is the solution to the problem of it being found after you die!
Wrap said equipment in an old carrier bag, or old sanitary pad packet, and keep it in your waste paper bin, so when your room is being cleared, they will just empty the bin, no one goes through rubbish!
I’ve shown my husband so he’s aware!
If you don’t have a rubbish bin in your room, create one, just fill with non perishables, empty toothpaste tubes, empty make up jars etc on the top, your little treasure at the bottom, a perfect decoy!! 😂😵‍💫

Why do people mind if their children know that they are sexual beings? - they would not be here if they weren't......

Whitewavemark2 Thu 08-May-25 18:55:53

Bit rude

I agree. This thread has descended into something similar to those awful TV adverts about deodorant etc. Surely there are some things that just aren’t up for discussion.

Jaxjacky Thu 08-May-25 21:36:52

There have been threads on all sorts of bodily functions on GN, why not this one?

Retired65 think this is a windup but will still reply if you want to masterbate you don't need a vibrator. You have things called hands. Very flexible no batteries needed . Plus the part to give yourself a climax is not in your vagina.

Sorry, but you're just showing your ignorance here. Lots of them have clitoral stimulators. Lots of women aren't able to masturbate to a climax, at any age.
OP - why do you think you may need a different type to your previous model? One of my modest claims to fame is that I product tested vibrators for Good Housekeeping magazine!

Madmeg Thu 08-May-25 22:39:50

I'm very pleased that most posters don't see the need for a vibrator in their lives but some of us aren't so lucky. I'm one of them so am watching this thread with personal interest.
