SweetpeaSue Oh, what a day you and your husband had. You were right all along about the SS - it does often pay to Google things. You must be so annoyed about the vascular doctor for dismissing that. I'm glad you've been listened to and that the diagnosis has been made. I hope your husband won't be waiting long for the CT scan. If your husband ever gets really very bad, take him to A&E. Hopefully, it won't come to that. Make him rest, though. You've fought so long and hard for him.

Wyllow3 Glad you made it up with your DocSis. You have come a long way since your illness began, and you're doing so well now. Your neighbour sounds like a very nice person.
ScaredyCat I don't like horseradish (or any other sauce, really). How have you been all day?

Doodle Glad you had a good lunch with some friends. What did you have?

Full-on day with LG. Went to a large farm park (used to go with big GDs), so we/she fed sheep, goats and calves, and ducks, and saw horses, wallabies, pigs, armadillos and meerkats. She played in the sandpit, the playground, indoor play areas, and we all walked miles - she didn't have a rest until we were. on the way home. Lovely but tiring day x

I should have rested today but couldnt, becuase of taking the letter to Ex's flats tomorrow morning.
But I didnt do fretting stuff - I've been dyeing some clothes, ironing some new acquisitions from charity shops to make them bigger round the tum, did a bit of watering, etc.

HVDY I hear what you say and its exactly my feelings also. Thankyou and I certainly won't rule out A&E . My DH is extremely breathless now. So much more deterioration.

Got some through the funeral . I can’t cry anyway. Haven’t for years. But I can’t stop thinking about her.
Dh didn’t ask how it went. He probably forgot it was today and didn’t know her anyway.
Hence the whisky.

EllieAnne If your husband didn't know your friend and he's still at your daughter's, it's probably no wonder he forgot. Did you tell him you'd been to the funeral? My husband would have forgotten something like that, but I would have mentioned it.

Son1 texted last night, and GD1 sent me photos of their holiday . Another day with LG, but probably 9 until about 4. The parents are going for a spa day and afternoon tea at a posh hotel. It's going to be even hotter, so a day at home, with the paddling pool and trampoline. Hope ALL BDers manage to have a decent day x

He came home on Sunday. I’d done a lot of baking and it was sitting in the kitchen so I left at 8.30 with all the tubs to go and make sandwiches. I was dressed smartly which isn’t my usual so if he’d forgotten you would think that might jog his memory.
Anyway it doesn’t matter. People have much bigger problems.

HVDY Hope your day with Littlegirl goes well. A paddling pool is ideal for that age and to keep her cool. Hope you're OK too and your hip is OK now. Sorry I can't remember if that's better now.
EllieAnne Your problems are as valid as anyone else's and you've lost a lovely friend who you could share with as well as help. It must be devastating for you. Please keep coming in - we all care about you.

Tray bakes rocky road and mars bar crispies.
I ve not been walking much lately, feel a bit washed out.
But I have to go into town this morning to pick up a prescription so will have a walk along the seafront.

Nadateturbe- at least you got to see your lovely mountains and then home to where you feel safe and comfortable. You tried and that’s the important bit.
I do have a cold pack - I could do with it on my head at the moment as it’s so warm!!
SweetPeaSue- That journey was a Kerfuffle- well done though for such a valiant ,loving effort to make sure your DH was at last being listened to. I think that a drink was very much in order after such a stressful day.
Good advice from Doodle and HVDY - yes don’t hesitate if you think he needs A & E. Just don’t forget to look after yourself too- it will do you good to speak with the psychologist on Friday.
HVDY- you certainly fill LGs days with so much fun- she will have so many lovely memories of her childhood.
I think a paddling pool today is just the job. How is Jaffa on the heat ? My DD 2 cats are poleaxed by the heat and they come from Qatar!!

This morning I had some really devastating news my friend of over 30 years has been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus. It has knocked me for 6 - she is a lovely person and I love her dearly. But we must stay strong for her - she is the one fighting the battle .

Love to all - not mentioned , absent friends and anyone in need of friendship.

EllieAnne Your husband seems to be indifferent about what you're doing and where you're going, which must be upsetting for you. My husband doesn't talk much at all (and could happily go all day without speaking if I didn't keep talking but he's always been the same). Has he always been like that? The traybake cakes sound delicious. I hope you've enjoyed a walk and got a bit of sea air. What's the weather like?

SweetpeaSue My hip is ok, thanks. It took a long time for the labral tear to heal, but it's no bother now (at the moment, anyway).

Wyllow3 Hope things went ok this morning, and that you didn't encounter any problems.

ScaredyCat We've got a huge (about 10ft rectangular) umbrella on the patio, so that it's shaded, but Jaffa likes to sit under the brick-built BBQ or under the trampoline (on the grass). I used to wipe my other cats with a damp flannel when it was hot weather. What awful news your friend has had - will she have an operation/chemotherapy? The poor woman. You're a strong lady, and she'll need that kind of support.

Took LG to a nice park. It was overcast and we had a short shower. Pub lunch, which she enjoyed very much, then she fell asleep in the car home - so we haven't got the paddling pool out. It's hot now. She's been asleep for about 30 minutes now. Back later x

It’s nice today. Not as hot as down south but better than usual. I did go to the beach but legs don’t want to walk much at the moment.
Yes he’s always been quiet except when he used to drink a lot. It was always me who kept the conversation going but I got so little back that I stopped trying.

EllieAnne It must be great to be close to a beach. I bet there were a lot of holidaymakers there. My husband is similar - if I didn't have the cat and Little Girl to talk to (although neither can talk back). I'd go and. When it's just the 2 of us (like now), he plays Solitaire on the computer, I watch tv. He looks at Facebook a lot, too. He's a lovely bloke and has looked after me so much over the years, but he's not much company.

Oh * Scaredycat* I'm so sorry about your friend. You've had to watch your other friend and her DH with Dementia and now this one. You must be very sad indeed. It's a sad fact as we get older we will lose loved ones but we hope it will be kindly. Take care of yourself.
HVDY You've had another full day with Littlegirl. She must have needed that sleep. I smiled at Jaffa settling under the trampoline to stay cool as that's what Fluffball does at my son and DILs house.

EllieAnne I'm sorry that you feel so alone in your home. There's a comfortable , companiable quiet and there's an awkward, lonely quiet.
It must have been nice at the beach but sometimes just being out is better than staying in. Glad you've got some better weather there at last.
Wyllow I hope you're OK and things went as well as they could this morning. It will be natural for there to be a bit of fallout just by being there and knowing you have attempted communication.

EllieAnne Nice photo there and looks so very quiet. No I've not had trouble with GN. Though I must have touched something on screen by mistake so I now get a huge GN symbol on the screen for about 4 seconds before I can scroll it.
HVDY Oh I don't envy those temps at all . It reached 25 here today. Very hot weather doesn't suit us at all . Have Fluffball tomorrow. Weds and Fridays now as DILs mum attending relaxation group sessions at hospice for 10 weeks .
Fluffball is good for DHs blood pressure.
Hope DILs mum feels better for being with others there.
