Winter time

“Well, it’s finally winter time 🧊
It’ll be freezing in the morning — my car will be doing its usual ice-cube impression!
But I’m actually quite enjoying it. I’ve done my Pilates today, had a nice meal, and now I’m home with my candles lit, the humidifier on with some lovely essential oils, and plenty of throws and cushions around.
I’ve got my pyjamas on already, so I’m just settling in and making the most of the cosy side of winter.”
What the best about winter ⛄️

After days of rain I went out for my usual walk today- bright blue sky and sunshine, I was well wrapped up. Fewer people around but most making comments about the weather- the local lake was so bright reflecting the winter sun; a very still heron had found a sunspot where he stood like a statue.
I called in one of the cafes on my way back for a bowl of carrot and parsnip soup, so thick and warming!
Of course people chatted to each other, all good humoured and relaxed.
I bought cake to take home as my sister came round for a warm cuppa and a slice of coffee and walnut cake in my cosy house.
What is not to like?

That is the best bit, I agree.

But I hate the long darkness. That above all.

But I love twinkly lights everywhere.

And despite all, I love the changing seasons. Winter is just about 4/5 weeks too long. Let's dump February.

Wintergreen is a plant.

Presumably with a strong fragrance. Does it grow in the UK?

I love Autumn, winter frosts, sunshine when cold, and snow when we get it. Everything to me looks much cleaner.
I love Christmas, especially my real tree, I am warm and cosy.

Yes it does. I’m pretty sure my sil (when he was) had one.

Another winter lover here.
All the seasons have their beauty but hot summers I hate.
I have SADs in reverse too Bukkie.

Cosy days of winter are my favourite. 🔥🧤🧣🍂🎄🕯️

Hi keepingquiet my birthday is in latish January so it's always had a treat in, you see, please don't dump me ☺️. That why I'd dump February.

My late brother too! He would have been 70 this year so we are having a modest meal together in his memory.
Also I am having a trip to London too- so yes, you can make January less dreary.

For me February was better because of the half-term holiday and also how short it was, but now I am not working it is less of an issue really.

I won't dump you now lol!
