Cordless Vacuum

Just to say that we have had a Henry for over 30 years (it was still made in metal in those days) but after various repairs and replacement parts, it finally had to go. By then I was finding it rather heavy to lug up and down stairs, so I decided to buy a G-Tech instead. It has been a real boon, light, efficient and particularly good on our large ground floor area, where I can just sail along unburdened by wires tangling behind me! Not good on stairs, but we have a bargain basement small hoover for these, used mainly by DH for cleaning the car. It's a positive pleasure to clean the house now - well, almost!

I've got a Henry because of the attachments - particularly the nozzle - and the fact it does the groundfloor in one go without having to keep unplugging it and an Oreck for a quick flick round; but it doesn't have attachments although it has a good 'suck'. I've thought about getting a cordless lightweight vac so it's good to hear recommendations.

Yes I have one and swear by it. I can no longer cope with the weight of ordinary vacuums (long boring story). I think of it as a powerful carpet sweeper, although it happily does the wooden floors as well. Once in a while I get OH to go around the skirting boards with ordinary hoover but to be quite honest because I can whip around with the GTECH every day the level of dust and pet hairs is very low.
I will say it took me a couple of weeks to get used to the feel of it...its so lightweight you somehow do not trust it at first but I am more than happy with it.

I thought about it but thought it might be difficult to get it into corners. I do have a Gtech cordless floor sweeper which is perfect for hard floors and good enough for day to day maintenance of carpets. I bought a Dyson cordless vacuum which is as much as my small house needs.

Has anyone tried the Gtech AirRam Cordless Vacuum Cleaner that has been advertised on tv?
