Good Housekeeping/Bad Housekeeping!

I don't mind ironing it's putting it all away I hate . I do iron my bed linen if I was rich I would have clean ironed bed linen every night .

I don't even mind my bed being a bit fusty.
Well, I'm not keen, but I'm plagued by an unwillingness to wrestle with quilt covers.

Puzzler61 when my ex-son-in-law was doing his pilot officer training in the RAF they had room inspection to the nth degree. (The point being to instil an attention to detail).
If he was coming home for the weekend he'd make his bed on the Friday, iron the sheets on the bed, then sleep on the floor that night so the bed was undisturbed and he could get away sooner on the Saturday morning.

I like ironing and find it relaxing and therapeutic, especially with radio 4 or an audio book.

So much doom and gloom, social distancing keeping us away from friends then house work is the last thing on my mind. If warm enough I shall sit in my garden with tea/coffee and or even a glass of wine, my kindle for company, and listen to the chirping of fledgling blackbirds in a nearby hedge. Bliss.

I iron everything except underwear and towels. Just saying! I find it soothing

I iron pillowcases if I’m ironing other things.

I'm another non ironer! There really is no point. I can remember spending hours on a Sunday night ironing school shirts for the kids and work shirts for DH. Think I've done my fair share!

Yep! Me too! I don't actually enjoy ironing, I just feel guilty if I don't do it! I don't bake either - but I have a good excuse for this - both hubby and I are diabetic!

In common with another poster, I clean bathrooms (we have one plus an en-suite) and kitchens, and pull off dandelion heads in the gardens (front, side and back). Not doing much else at present, but we are "shielding" - so no one gets to see! Unless they are in the field behind us, when I'm in the back garden!

I like ironing now. Didn’t when I was a young Mum. But not so much now. No work or school shirts.
I only iron DH’s hankies and his boxer shorts !!!! plus top clothes like t shirts etc. Never bed linen unless we have visitors.
My ironing basket gets emptied between washes.
I used to know someone who ironed her children’s socks. They had a crease down the front,

My mother used to iron everything, even bra straps and towels. The house was immaculate- it was more of a show home. This was in the days when she worked full time with one day off a month.

When I first got married and she visited the first thing she did was clean the place and I had cleaned it specially because I knew my parents were visiting. Now she would wonder how she had brought up such a slovenly daughter.

I cleaned for my dad very many years ago. Used to iron just the top half of sheets on bed. Don’t think he noticed. ?

I really don't understand the ironing hatred. It's warm and dry and you get to see a nice end result. Besides, I think if I wear smooth clothes it will detract from my creased face.
However, cleaning the windows can wait forever as far as I'm concerned.

DH irons all his own clothes + all rectangular items - bed clothes, tea towels etc. I do iron most of my clothes but on a "as and when" basis. When we've been on holiday, cropped white trousers and sleeveless tops, can lurk at the bottom of the ironing basket until needed for next holiday. Which in our present situation will be sometime next year- maybe.

When I used to iron, I always had things like linen trousers at the bottom of the basket for months and months.

Now I just don't wear linen trousers anymore.
