any recommendations for dishwasher tablets please. I have always used Aldi but they do not seem as good as they one were.

finish. I never like the aldi ones.

I usually use Finish, however I saw a report that said Lidl and Asda's were just as good.

We use Finish and are very pleased with the results.

Fairy Platinum plus for me. Buy big packs when they are on offer

FlexibleFriend Tue 22-Jun-21 19:48:01

Fairy platinum I also buy the big packs when on offer for half price.

Finish Quantum Ultimate give me much superior results. I stock up when they are on offer. Running a dishwasher cleaner regularly also helps a lot to keep performance up as it clears out any debris and oil buildup.

I bought Tesco’s own brand yesterday - just completed the first wash - no complaints at all. I have heard that the same factory provides the very same tablets for Finish and Tesco. Finish adds a mark-up. I don’t know whether it’s true.

A couple of weeks ago I bought 80 Finish Powerball 0% dishwasher tablets. After I used the first one the contents of the dishwasher, the door and compartment were covered in a white powder residue that took two washes to get rid of. I rang the phone number on the bag and had a chat with a lady who said that should not have happened and that this was probably a one off. I took her word for it and tried again and exactly the same thing happened and I had to do another two washes without a tablet to get everything clean. I phoned again and was told they would look into it and send me some vouchers, I didn't receive any vouchers or a letter informing me of the outcome of their investigation.

This was all rather annoying as doing six washes instead of two certainly did not help the environment or my electric and water bill! and the tablets were quite expensive.

I have gone back to Ecover tablets which I have always found to be as good as any.

Tesco own, do a brilliant job, and once a month put one through the washing machine, gets rid of all the gunk.

I use Finish tablets but the Classic ones and use liquid rinse aid and salt. A dishwasher engineer told me years ago that it gave a better wash than the combined tablets as the different products were released at the correct time in the program. Recently my friend was told the same thing by a French washing machine man. He also told her to do most cycles on the hottest wash. I tend to do that anyway as a sterilising measure

We use Lidl's own all in one tablets, they are fine.

Fairy Platinum. Although my husband ordered (eco friendly) Smol online to try and they were very good. When we've used up the Fairy Platinum we'll probably get those delivered.

Mattsmum2 Tue 22-Jun-21 21:12:55

Fairly platinum from me too, they are recommended on Which I believe too.

Jaxjacky Tue 22-Jun-21 21:20:52

We too use Tesco’s own, no issues.

Maggiemaybe Tue 22-Jun-21 22:06:13

Fairy Platinum for us too, they do a great job. I’m considering trying Smol though.

I use Lidl own brand

mumofmadboys Tue 22-Jun-21 22:45:43

Sainsburys own. Cut tablets in half. Always does a good job. No problems. Picked up tip of halving tablets from someone else.

M0nica Tue 22-Jun-21 22:50:11

Supermarket own brand, although obviously not Aldi.

Lidl's all-in-one tablets. They do an excellent job and dissolve properly even on a quick wash which can't be said of all the own brand ones I've tried.

Mollygo Wed 23-Jun-21 08:52:06

Lidl usually. I first bought them to use when we were on a gîte holiday in France and they worked well. Ecover when they’re on offer. I run a dishwasher cleaner about once a month. How well tablets work does sometimes depend if you’re in a soft or hard water area.

glammanana Wed 23-Jun-21 09:07:16

I don't have a dishwasher anymore but when I did I always used Finish with really good results I used the tablets for other things around the house as well as,popped one in the loo for keeping the bowl pristine dissolving in hot water to keep white net curtains bright, they also remove any perspiration stains from underarms on clothing.

Triumph900 Wed 23-Jun-21 10:01:28

I only buy fairy platinum . I try to stock up when they're on special offer.

I find Finish Power Powder more economical than tabs. You only need to use a small amount for good results and it lasts for ages. It's £3 for 1kg at Asda. smile
