any recommendations for dishwasher tablets please. I have always used Aldi but they do not seem as good as they one were.

We use Aldi "all in one" tablets and find them to be excellent. I wonder whether water "quality " plays a part in this? Ours is reasonably soft.

Lidl's own brand all in one brand works fine in my dishwasher. I’m in Devon where we have soft water.

I use whichever make are the cheapest when I do my click and collect order at Tesco. Living alone, I only use my dishwasher a couple of times a week, or less, but always wash on a long, hot wash and generally have no problems. But then I’m not too fussy!

I don't think so.....I have got an installed softener and of course dishwashers also have intrinisc softeners which is what the salt is for.

I’ve been using Asda’s own dishwasher tablets since first lockdown. I’m happy with the clean dishes etc.

I've mentioned this before, on a detergent thread; I buy from a mail-order company, Smol. The dishwasher tablets work just as well as big brands as do the detergent capsules. They come in re-cyclable flat packaging that goes through the letter box. In both cases, they are undoubtedly economical.

I use Lidl own brand but I will have a look at Smol.

Fairy Platinum though Aldi is a close second in the dishwasher tablet league table produced by the well know product testing magazine.

DH has just come back from TOFS with 110 Finish Powerball for £10 so I won’t be trying Smol for a while at £4.60 for 30 tablets.

We began using the all in one tablets when they became available but are sure that they have decreased in efficacy over the years.

Only last week we bought 'normal' tablets, adding rinse aid and salt and the difference is astounding - for the better!

Previously, our glasses were dull, certainly didn't sparkle, and it was as if there was almost a film over everything. We assumed it was our hard water that was the culprit but now we have sparkling glasses and the dishes actually look clean.

We will look at the Tesco range to see if they sell 'normal' tablets, too as their dish-washing products have been recommended here.

I use Asda's own brand, but buy Finish if/when they're on offer

I'm with rascal - I prefer powder because I can use less for a light wash. I don't like to use more of anything than I need. I also have a magnet ball in the dishwasher and I'm sure it helps. It has been there for years!
