What would you like to see invented?
You know how Colourcatchers can go in the wash to stop your entire white wash going PINK because there is one red sock in there?
Well will somebody please market a gizmo that goes in with dark or coloured clothes and catches all those pesky shreds of the tissue you left up your sleeve please?
And why does it only happen with coloureds anyway?

What else would you like to see invented?
Dragons Den awaits!

I used to have a list in my head, but some things have improved.

Supermarket trolleys now largely go in the right direction. And flow better.

Driver car seats are more adjustable.

Child car seats are better designed
Ditto child baby baths.

I will have a rethink for things that have not improved.

Will someone please invent a fool proof duvet cover that be put on and off without getting tangled up in it...

Shinamae Thu 25-Jan-24 21:32:02

A device to ensure that all politicians would get an electric shock every time they lied.. 🙄

Granmarderby10 Thu 25-Jan-24 21:35:50

An upright vacuum cleaner with a cord rewind (like on cylinder models) …well why not?

Kitchen sink dish drainers with an integral cutlery drainer BIG ENOUGH for it’s purpose

Still full from dinner so can’t think of any more at the moment🤔

If I loose my mobile I can call it from the Landline, which makes it ring and I can find it. I urgently need a small device that can be attached to my purse, glasses, keys or hearing aids, (which are never where I think I left them) and will beep loudly when I press the control.

PS Come to think of it, I would probably spend half the day looking for the control confused

A washing machine/tumble drier that folds the clothes before you take them out.

Granny23 your wish has already been granted! www.amazon.co.uk/Tracking-Finder-Tracker-Vehicle-Locator/dp/B08H3X6DH4/ref=sr_1_6?hvlocphy=1007383&hvnetw=g&keywords=tag+trackers&hvadid=676246057885&qid=1706220958&hydadcr=4173_2155388&hvdev=c&hvqmt=e&tag=gransnetforum-21&hvtargid=kwd-423238722476&adgrpid=141339725753&hvrand=5683042378735445402&sr=8-6

I have that. I got it after I left my purse in a shop.
It is called Tile.
I have one in my purse, one on my keys and one on my church keys.
The other day I couldn't find my church keys, so I rang my mobile, up came a map, showing they were in the house. DH wondered why I was wandering around the house, following a beeping noise! Turned out they were in the pocket of my coat, which was drying in the utility room.

A duvet that actually fits snug into the duvet cover. No matter where I buy them from there always seems to be a size difference. I end up tucking the cover that's to big in the corners under the mattress.

merlotgran Thu 25-Jan-24 23:38:33

Will somebody please invent packaging that actually opens at the corner where it says, ‘Peel Here.’

Will someone please invent a food pill - Willy Wonka style.
So that I don’t have to worry about what to cook and maybe would save me money 🍝🍟

Coverless duvets will help those who have issues with the covers. They aren’t just duvets without a cover on them - they are designed so that they don’t need them.

Here’s one www.finebedding.co.uk/products/night-lark-linen-print-coverless-duvet

Shinamae I agree with you it would be wonderful but poor Boris would be frazzled.

I wish they would invent a "Beam me up, Scotty" machine as featured in Star Trek, so I could get to a holiday destination without all the faff.

Septimia Fri 26-Jan-24 10:12:35

Agreed, both Redhead and merlotgran!

Doodledog Fri 26-Jan-24 10:42:15

I would love a rewind button, for all the times when you think of exactly the right thing to do or say, but ten minutes too late. It would come in useful for reliving lovely memories, too.

I usually get dh to help but when he’s not there I can thoroughly recommend a set of 4 giant clothes pegs - the sort they sell to stop your towel blowing away on the beach. Just a very few ££ on Amazon.
You just put the bottom two corners in, fasten with pegs, repeat with top two, give a good shake, bingo.

Gosh, there are some great ideas on here. I am going to investigate the key tracker now.

Hetty58 Fri 26-Jan-24 11:17:53

I've got the tile trackers and I use the 'burrito roll' method to change duvet covers - sorted. Still, although the shower room has a lovely heated floor - and there's a chair and radio in there - I do still feel quite lonely in there in the winter. I really miss the old house with the roaring fire in the bathroom (my first husband had the tv screen set up too). I'd like someone to invent a steamer cabinet type 'washer' I could just use in the living room, watching tv - then roll out to the garage when not in use.

I agree henetha I hate all the stress around airports, railway stations etc.

An electrical system that doesn't need plugs and cables. No matter how tidy your house, there are still miles of wires on show. I notice that even Buckingham Palace has cables everywhere.

Thank you those who gave links for coverless duvets - just ordered one!
