Will somebody please invent…….?

What would you like to see invented?
You know how Colourcatchers can go in the wash to stop your entire white wash going PINK because there is one red sock in there?
Well will somebody please market a gizmo that goes in with dark or coloured clothes and catches all those pesky shreds of the tissue you left up your sleeve please?
And why does it only happen with coloureds anyway?

What else would you like to see invented?
Dragons Den awaits!

You’ll never go back to covers, Thoro.

A machine that can instantly cool food or drink. The opposite to a microwave.

Hear, hear * Curtaintwitcher*. Wireless! Give over, still need wires.

A de-mister for the glasses I cannot do without and windscreen wipers for them too!

Every winter I am blind as soon as I go inside a building from the cold street and every time it rains, I have to take my glasses off at some point to see ahead of me.

A button to press when I'm tired so that I could be instantly in bed, undressed and with teeth cleaned, contacts out, etc.

If I loose my mobile I can call it from the Landline, which makes it ring and I can find it. I urgently need a small device that can be attached to my purse, glasses, keys or hearing aids, (which are never where I think I left them) and will beep loudly when I press the control.

PS Come to think of it, I would probably spend half the day looking for the control confused

I think you can already buy something like this.

Granny23: funnily enough last night i couldn't find my book (searched everywhere and through all my shopping bags) and said to DH that i wish someone would invent something i could attach to it, to help me find it. I take it with me in the car etc and am always forgetting to retrieve it etc.

Blasts of hot air in the shower so one doesn’t need towels!

icanhandthemback Thu 01-Feb-24 11:22:25

A 'like' button on this thread, there are so many good ideas.

For lost keys, if you're with Apple there's the air tag. Brilliant little things.

I hate trailing wires so that would be something I'd invest in.

I want something that automatically dusts. We have robot vacuums, now I want robot dusters!

Milest0ne Thu 01-Feb-24 11:26:13

I would like an up sized hand drier for the shower to obviate the need for towels. specially for less mobile shoulders and knees.

The only thing I want is a self cleaning house

Lay it on the bed then roll or fold the duvet cover until it's almost inside out. Attach it to the duvet along the top outside edge with half a dozen strong clothes pegs. Ease the cover down to the bottom and button up (or popper up).

If you have sewing skills, a little Velcro on the top, inside edge and corners of the cover, and the same on the duvet will work as well, and will stop the irritating slippage of the duvet that leaves the top edge of the cover empty. I hate that! Snip a tiny bit off the very corners of the Velcro pieces. They can be a bit sharp.

Equipment to make dressing after a swim easier. It’s fine at the gym where a few minutes in the sauna dries you off and warms you up, but swimming elsewhere means a struggle to get my damp chilly body back into clothes.

icanhandthemback Thu 01-Feb-24 11:53:00

Gosh, yes, Mollygo, that's my excuse not to go swimming and if you've got some little bodies with you, it is sheer torture for all to get them back into their clothes! They don't seem to mind it so much though.

You want a Tile or an Air pod (depending on what your mobile is).

I would like something to cover my toothbrush head in the bathroom so it isn’t exposed to bad odours. I leave my toothbrush in my bedroom.
If someone did invent this, everyone would want one so they would become a millionnaire 👍

And also a device that means if someone attacks you, they experience the pain too. Not that anyone has ever hit me but if they need I want that person to hurt too👍

Google plastic toothbrush covers. There are many makes.

I have some. In reality, I dont use mine that often.

Annierob Thu 01-Feb-24 12:19:27

Granny 23, Regarding keys beeping.
I have an apple iphone so i bought apple tags. You attach them to the key rings and they synchronise with your phone in the ‘find your’ feature. When you can’t find your keys, you use the feature and the tag beeps. I have one on my car keyring and one on my house keys. I even get a notification to say my keys are no longer with me. Wonderful.

Fancy that. thank you. I love this thread

I am with the foolproof duvet cover. Changing my cover is a job I dread as I usually end up tired, needing to sit down and have a good rest.

Snowbell Thu 01-Feb-24 12:39:24

A way of recirculating the water that runs down the drain while you're waitimg for the hot water to come through. It's ok in the summer when you can catch it and use it to water the garden but that hasn't been necessary for months !

How about a thimble?
