What would you like to see invented?
You know how Colourcatchers can go in the wash to stop your entire white wash going PINK because there is one red sock in there?
Well will somebody please market a gizmo that goes in with dark or coloured clothes and catches all those pesky shreds of the tissue you left up your sleeve please?
And why does it only happen with coloureds anyway?

What else would you like to see invented?
Dragons Den awaits!

Cars with steering wheels that won’t turn unless you activate the indicator.

Zips on quilt covers.

You can get both pillow slips and duvet covers with zips, it is actually becoming difficult to find ones that have buttons!

This is really a case of Be careful what you wish for, as the zips break long, long before the covers are worn out, and slipping on a pillow slip with a zip is unpleasant.

And it is a heck of a lot easier to sew on a button than to unpick and replace a zip!

A service for the over 65s which provides solutions to all the smaller problems in a house - without charging customers a fortune. EG. Renewing the silicone strips round shower units, removing the covers off smoke alarms in order to replace the batteries, getting the 'skirt' off pendant light holders when they gets completely stuck, cleaning all the windows and mirrors inside the house, decoding the instructions on boiler thermostats. Not everyone has someone who can help! I think Help the Aged used to offer a service, but then decided all the tasks were too risky.

Some CVSs have a "handyman" service. Obviously not always a man.

Instead of pills, a machine you can go into like the Photo Booths and come out well. I know mri machines are diagnostic but this would be a cure all.

When they invent it can they adapt it for when husbands have more than a couple of drinks

I am 5' 2" and no trouble with seatbelts. The upper portion can be adjusted downwards to make a neater fit.

I have a few of the apple tiles (not called tiles by apple but can't remember the name!). I even have one on the dog! Sadly they are too big to be used for spectacles but that would be an amazing invention.

Fitted sheets that you can fold and iron easily. Teleporting so I can avoid airports for the rest of my life. I am sure they promised us that on Tomorrows World and it still hasn’t happened!!! I want to go in my wardrobe, spin around and come out in Greece.

DanniRae Thu 01-Feb-24 16:02:34

I looked into getting a king size one but apparently they don't fit in a standard size washing machine shock

DanniRae Thu 01-Feb-24 16:03:31

This is about coverless duvets!

Romola Thu 01-Feb-24 16:04:30

Duvet covers: why can't I get one like this any more?
I had a wonderful one from M&S years ago. The top side had a buttoned opening about a third of the way down (rather nice large buttons).
I just used to lay it on the bed and it was easy to get the four corners of the duvet into it.
I put a new backing on twice, but eventually gave it away when I no longer needed a big duvet.
Has anyone seen anything similar?

A 100% safe pill that makes you lose weight

MrsHappy Thu 01-Feb-24 16:08:48

An ironing machine. Chuck the clothes in one end and they come out ironed and on a hanger.

I'm only 5ft and my seat belt is adjusted as far as it will go but still strangles me from time to time. On long journeys I often find my self holding it down with my left hand for much of the journey, only letting go to change gear! However I had a lift with my DiL's uncle whose car had a home made fabric sleeve around the passenger seat belt in a triangular shape which held it in place for his mother who is tiny. I really ought to make myself one!

Boolya Thu 01-Feb-24 16:21:35

Koa duvet cover have a long zip in middle going down the length and 2 smaller ones at the base. I'm sure other methods are available!

Gwenisgreat Thu 01-Feb-24 16:23:40

Why can't someone invent a fabric cubicle that comes down after you' ve had your shower, and it will blow dry you - doing away with the need for bath towels to wash and clutter the bathroom?

ordinarygirl Thu 01-Feb-24 16:41:58

it is too late for me now but i would have liked something that stopped me saying something at the wrong time. People really don't always want to know the truth
