Else gran - our local Iceland lets you shop in store and then leave the shopping with them and they deliver it

Some places also have a booth thing where you can collect Amazon purchases - there is one in a Coop i go to occasionally.

No point me doing instore collection of any sort as I don't drive. If I could just shove it in the boot then I would rather shop personally and choose things myself.

As it is I take a shopping trolley on wheels if I intend to shop. Who was it said that was something she loathed as a symbol of old age? Must be someone with a car. I don't exactly regard it as a fashion accessory, but it is definitely an improvement on carrying a heavy bag M & S canvas bag in each hand, or three plastic bags in each hand, which is what happens if I am not prepared.

After my physiotherapy on Thursday, instead of getting off the bus at the usual stop and walking up the hill home, on impulse I stayed on until it reached Tesco to buy "a few things". More than a few items jumped into my basket, so I had to carry them to the bus-stop, ride a few stops, and then walk up the hill home.

Three days later I am still suffering for it.

Iceland will delivery your shopping free if you spend £25 or more instore.

Can't see a lot of point in it tbh. You may as well go to the shop and just buy it, I would have thought. I like having things delivered to the door, and M and S only charge £3.

You can wait ages in the instore Order-collection queue in Marks and Sparks.

Our larger coop stores do that in Newcastle but dont seem to advertise it, my Aunt goes to store on her scooter and they then deliver what she has chosen elegran.

I can order with Tesco and collect from my local small store which is a a couple of miles away so dont even need to go to large store which is a 20 min drive away, I have used this delivery many times and have never been disappointed. I ordered a birthday present for DGS last night and can collect from 4pm tomorrow.

I wish I could do it the other way round - shop in supermarket, they deliver. Then you would get exactly what you wanted, even the things tou see as you go up and down the aisles but did not remember you needed. No-one seems to do that.

Yes, Jess I'm a huge fan also. If I order from John Lewis my OH can collect as he works in town. Boots will deliver to my nearest store free of charge. I try not to pay postage if at all possible.

I am quite taken with shop online and collect from store.
I have tried it with M and S, Debenhams and Tesco. Worked like a dream on all 3 occasions. They confirm by email or text that your order has arrived.
Instead of going to town, searching the shelves, discovering that the specific slippers that MIL wants are not in stock, ordering and going back again, I can specify what I want e.g. grey, size 8 and they will be there the following day.
You do not have to pay postage and you do not have to wait in for courier.
Best if parking is free or you are going near store anyway.
I also noticed that if you are ordering more than £50 of clothes it is FREE delivery to Australia, NZ, SA, US. Handy if the GKDS etc are running out of underwear etc Certainly in Australia and NZ they do not seem to have a shop that sells cheap clothes of reasonable quality.
Given the cost of postage this is a bargain!
