Where are we all

A sign post ,Pink Green only just outside Birmingham always amused me.

I always wondered about a place called Husbands Bosworth. What is a Bosworth? I want to know if my husband`s got one!

The OS map of the King's Lyn area shows a place (or possibly a geographical feature) by the name of Cat's Bottom.

numberplease if you find yr OH has got a Bosworth, it may be worth something. Near Husbands Bosworth there's a Market Bosworth!

Or you might find you have a Battle to get it off him!!

He says he hasn`t got one, hope he`s not keeping things from me! We have a New York a few miles from here, but there aren`t any bright lights and theatres there, just a sleepy country village. A few years ago the local paper ran a competition, the prize was a weekend in New York, the winners were a little disappointed!

In the North East they are very good at naming places. There's a place called Boghouses. When Ken used to tell me to go towards Four Lane Ends, I never knew where he was talking about. Isn't every crossroads where four lanes end? However, there is even a Four Lane Ends Metro station. And why Four Lane Ends and not Four Lanes End?
Sheepwash is on the River Wansbeck near Ashington. There's a single track bridge over it now, but you can see that's what it was.

And while we're about it, there's also the evocatively named Blubberhouses, near Harrogate.

I'm in a village midway between Gatwick and Brighton, an hour from London but 5 hours from where we used to live in South Devon and where we go at every opportunity.

I live in the cargo village of Heathrow Airport. No the planes do not disturb us maybe get the smell of burning rubber from tyres on landing sometimes when the weather is very warm.

There is a Cat Brain Lane Jeni. ?Somewhere just on the north west of Bristol. possibly off what was once the A38? Well it was that when I left Bristol in 1966! I think it still about but harder to find because of motorways.

Rinky I am in Newcastle, we had a GN meet up last year in Newcastle there are a few of us now in the North East.

Jenduham, there is a place just called Street here in Somerset, and there is a street of shops and a large outlet centre,really worth a visit if ever you are this way, it is also where Clarks shoes are made.

My maiden initials were JAB, I changed them for JAW! I don't know which is worse.
Incidentally I gather the tribunals for whom I work will be sitting in w-s-m magistrates court soon. I expect they'll send me there as I'm the nearest. Perhaps we can meet?

Have friends who lived in Cat Brain Lane in Bristol.Used to have a singing gp at their house. They moved out to Frome when the Cribbs Causeway hypermarket developed.In Cambs.I lived near Six Mile Bottom..also a Two Mile Bottom nr Thetford.
I live in Backwell N Somerset-very near rail line to WSM so would be easy for us to meet sometime
