elegran suggested we have a separate thread for sorting the proposed Glasgow meet up, and green asked if I might be able to 'sort' it, so this is me sorting the first bit: names please? smile

glassortwo Thu 26-Jul-12 07:14:22

*bags I would love to join depending on date.

greenmossgiel Thu 26-Jul-12 09:52:07

Me too! smile

Elegran Thu 26-Jul-12 10:09:31

And me!

At the moment, I'm thinking of late August for a Glasgow meet up. How does that suit people? And are there preferred days/dates, or ones to avoid?

glassortwo Thu 26-Jul-12 10:14:35

I am on holiday from the 23rd to the 2nd Sept.

glassortwo Thu 26-Jul-12 10:20:06

But if push came to shove as we are going up to the house, I could probably talk DH into doing without me for a day shock

absentgrana Thu 26-Jul-12 10:31:04

I'd like to come along, please.

greenmossgiel Thu 26-Jul-12 10:48:24

Late August fine for me too. smile

Bags Thu 26-Jul-12 11:43:52

Well, I'm shoving, glass! smile

soop Thu 26-Jul-12 11:47:30

Love to. My birthday is on the 8th [so Mr soop has a treat in store]. Late August would be fine with me. smile

Granny23 Thu 26-Jul-12 11:50:30

I'm interested but will be back on the school run by late August so perhaps a Sunday?

moomin Thu 26-Jul-12 11:59:34

I'm interested as I've never been to Glasgow (hear it's fab!!) and hopefully would be able to fit in with end of August.

soop Thu 26-Jul-12 13:09:23

Kelvingrove museum would make a good venue. Lots to do for the energetic and a pleasant cafe for those who prefer to sit around and blether! wink

On another thread, a badge of some sort was mentioned so that we were recognisable to each other. For the Glasgow meet I shall wear red jen-yoo-ine Basque beret so that I can be spotted at whichever station we decide to meet at – that is, if most people will be arriving by train. Bit of an assumption there. I shall be, and had assumed most of the E Scotland grans would be too. Bit there are a few from elsewhere.

What think others?

But the red beret can be anywhere.

Bags Thu 26-Jul-12 13:13:05

Good thinking, soop.

Bags Thu 26-Jul-12 13:13:33

I could possibly meet you on the train!

soop Thu 26-Jul-12 13:18:00

Bags no train service from here to Glasgow. I would have to travel by bus. I may wear my gold lame cat-suit, feather boa, stiletto heels, and plate-size hoop earrings. No point in making a spectacle of myself! grin

soop Thu 26-Jul-12 13:19:09

Bags where would I board the train on which you'll travel?

Bags Thu 26-Jul-12 13:39:34

Oban, Dalmally, or Crianlarich. Don't know which would be easiest for you.

glammanana Thu 26-Jul-12 13:43:19

I would love to go but I have those two weddings to go to and the required hen nights plus the Beatles Festival at the end of August so I will have to pass on this one sad

soop Thu 26-Jul-12 13:49:16

Possibly Crianlarich. As the bus is free, makes sense to use it. More pocket money for treats when we meet. grin

Bags Thu 26-Jul-12 13:49:53

Don't worry, glam. I daresay we'll do another sometime smile

Bags Thu 26-Jul-12 13:50:36

Indeed, soop, I was wondering about the cost. No point paying out dosh when you can get a free ride.

soop Thu 26-Jul-12 13:52:00

Bags It will be the cat-suit that makes the bus screech to a halt. wink
