Feeling very envious that Scottish Grannies have got themselves organised.
Are there any grannies within striking distance of a Midlands centre who would like to do the same? I am in Milton Keynes but trains to Brum are frequent and fast. Any takers?

Very Very fed up..... 5 big sneezes and several sniffs! I hope it's because I'm mucking out my boudoir (putting Summer away and getting Winter out!). I MUST NOT get a cold at this stage of the proceedings! sad

Ella46 Thu 04-Oct-12 19:26:17

No, it's just dust grin grin

JessM Thu 04-Oct-12 19:30:47

no its just house dust ogm, you are not allowed to be poorly!!!!

jeni Thu 04-Oct-12 19:32:26

Don't you dare!

glitabo Thu 04-Oct-12 19:58:18

Could be an allergy, dust, or sprayers in the fields. Anti-histamines might help.
Oh dear, after reading the thread on codeine misuse I am now encouraging someone to take drugs. All I know is, it works for me. hmm

We could do with a [sorry] emoticon.

glitabo Thu 04-Oct-12 19:59:50

The point of my last post was to say to ogm that we all really do ant her to come on the 6th.

crimson Thu 04-Oct-12 20:11:35

YES; I don't care what drugs it takes OGM you must come!

Oldgreymare Thu 04-Oct-12 20:27:01

Stopped sneezing, 'computer room' must be less dusty than the boudoir blush

Oldgreymare Fri 05-Oct-12 09:46:26

Glitabo took your advice and popped 2 paracetamol before bed, a bit of a thick head this morning ( what's new?) but fingers crossed!
Been 'on the waggon' since the weekend, saving myself for Saturday.... could be 'cold turkey' hmm

jeni Fri 05-Oct-12 10:22:55

Anybody looking forward to tomorrow?
I still can't decide what to wear. I've sorted out six possible outfits so far!
Then which set of pearls? (Or do I wear amethysts?)
Oh dear! I'm suffering from an acute attack of indecision!

Perhaps it would be easier to just stay in bedgrin

glassortwo Fri 05-Oct-12 10:24:16

Then miss all the fun jeni noooo grin

Oldgreymare Fri 05-Oct-12 10:41:58

Jeni I'm throwing on almost every bit of purple I own!
And, yes, I'm looking forward to our day!
I wondered about pearls as being the white component but decided I couldn't compete with you!!!! grin
I am planning on wearing a necklace I got in a sale (£2 for necklace and purple t shirt), wait 'til you see it! blush

jeni Fri 05-Oct-12 11:09:26

I may turn up in deepest mourning so as not to compete with you glamour pusses!

gracesmum Fri 05-Oct-12 11:13:21

Diamonds, jeni surely?grin The 6 possible outfits sounds as if there will be sartorial standards to be met shock I am so looking forward to meeting you all - got my ticket so "good to go"!!

soop Fri 05-Oct-12 11:16:34

I'm wishing you all a very happy and noisy gathering. Hope that you enjoy every moment...just as we did at Gally's. We also raised a glass or cup of cheer to all Gransnetters. smile

moomin Fri 05-Oct-12 11:19:57

I'll second that soop! Hope you all have a lovely get-together wine

jeni Fri 05-Oct-12 11:58:42

hmm

crimson Fri 05-Oct-12 12:28:05

I'm still struggling to get into most of my clothes so will probably end up in my rather scruffy weekend jeans sad. No glamour from me, especially as, if the weather stays as it is now, I'll be wearing a raincoat as well!

jeni Fri 05-Oct-12 12:33:46

It's going to be fine in Brum tomorrow!sunshine

JessM Fri 05-Oct-12 12:41:05

Je-neee - HOW many outfits. It's not a cruise!
Crimson worry not. It's just an informal event, despite jeni and her talk of costume jewellery.
Some of us just do "what shall I wear" anxiety, whatever the occasion.
I have decided against the purple bollywood outfit as the weather too cool. One of these decades there will be another chance to give it an outing. So I won't show you up. (ya think I'm joking don't you)
Don't forget name tags if possible folks. I'll bring some spare sticky labels just in case grin

Oldgreymare Fri 05-Oct-12 12:53:18

Jess Real names/Gransnet names or both?

Oldgreymare Fri 05-Oct-12 12:54:25

Jeni purple was your idea, you can't let us down!

harrigran Fri 05-Oct-12 13:03:35

OGM we wore labels with both names on at Edinburgh, it was great fun matching faces to names.
If it wasn't for the electrician coming tomorrow I would be tempted to jump in the car and come and be a fly on the wall.

Oldgreymare Fri 05-Oct-12 13:09:54

Harrigan do come!
I'm tempted to put OGM on the reverse and my real name on the front, wanting to create an air of mystery, you understand! grin

JessM Fri 05-Oct-12 14:03:02

well my real name and my GN name are not hard to translate. GN names are essential though aren't they?
