Does anyone fancy a little North Devon meetup in Bideford? (All welcomes from anywhere, of course!) We did discuss it briefly before Christmas, but we could begin to think about it now. Maybe a little later in the year?

There are quite a few of us round about here, I know. I would love to see you!

wine etc.

What a pity! We shall have another one in Barnstaple when my knee is fixed.

Oldgreymare Wed 26-Mar-14 17:10:14

Barnstaple is more 'doable' (train-wise!)
Hope your knee is fixed soon xx

Huh! Operation postponed until 23rd April! (was to be next week.) Am being very nice to Admissions, offering to come in at a day's notice etc. #bearingup.

Just read about your op, Ariadne, I'm so sorry. It happened once to me after I'd been prepped for theatre, and having got oneself into the right frame of mind, it's really difficult and bitterly disappointing.flowers

Ariadne Huh! indeed!
Keep smiling flowers

And Theseus is 70 on May 4th, so all my plans are out the window! But I keep telling myself that someone in a worse state than me must have needed the slot.

See you tomorrow, ladies, and we shall raise a glass or two to absent friends!

Ignore all pms - they do a full menu too!!

Currently in John Lewis enjoying my free pot of tea before taking the two hour bus journey to Bideford.

Oldgreymare Fri 28-Mar-14 18:39:19

So, how did you all get on? Lots of fun and laughter I'll bet!

Anne58 Fri 28-Mar-14 18:41:23

I had a truly lovely time! grin

Soutra Fri 28-Mar-14 19:10:47

Pics???

Anne58 Fri 28-Mar-14 21:08:56

Ariadne took some, and also got the nice waiter chap to take one.

Did I tell you that she accosted some total strangers...............?

rosesarered Fri 28-Mar-14 21:10:42

You mean stranger than G'netters?

Ariadne Fri 28-Mar-14 21:20:54

Ooh! I got there first, and there were a couple of (as I discovered) older women already in the bar, one with her back to me. So I had to go over the check, as I hadn't met Nannyfran before. They were very nice.

We talked, and talked, and talked. As you do.

And now that ga has discovered that there is a bus from Bideford to Exeter, we're on to a winner as far as SW meetups go!

Alcohol at lunchtime and accosting strangers in a bar????? I am so glad that I was at home.

Joking apart, I hope that you all had a great time and enjoyed the food. You appear to have arrived at your respective homes so nobody was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.

Ahem, may I point out that there were four of us and I consumed only half a glass of the two bottles of plonk. Any laughter emanating from me was not fuelled by happy juice. grin

nannyfran Sat 29-Mar-14 10:19:08

Having led a sheltered life, I was horrified to be plied with alcohol by these 3 strangers!
Seriously, I really enjoyed meeting everyone and discovering they were all as nice as they sound on here.
I wasn't good for much for the rest of the day though, sleepy wasn't in it!
I hope we can do it again soon.

Anne58 Sat 29-Mar-14 10:27:12

grin

I blame Ariadne she was there first, therefore it can be safely assumed that she started it!

nannyfran Sat 29-Mar-14 10:29:39

Absolutely phoenix! My arm really aches after all that twisting!grin

Ariadne Sat 29-Mar-14 17:27:26

Cheek! grin You were most abstemious, ga!

rosesarered Sun 30-Mar-14 16:27:28
