Elegran and I are working together on the December meet up where I have been investigating the potential for a theatre visit. Elegran will arrange a venue for a meal either before or after once she knows where and when. There are already a few people considering this who are on the previous link of Edinburgh meet ups. Any more interests will be warmly received. smile

Manager of ticket office (Richard) is holding 2 extra tickets for a further 10 days for any other GN's wanting a fab night at the theatre. It's been great fun organising this event smile now I'm off again today to Aberdeen to see my very pregnant daughter. sunshine

Tickets to the nutcracker have arrived smile

Elegran Mon 01-Sept-14 18:14:31

I think Ayse would be like to come. She was very interested when I mentioned it as a possibility after she said she could not be there on Sunday.

Marelli Mon 01-Sept-14 18:17:24

That would be lovely if Ayse could come, and she would have Moomin and Janeainsworth to travel up with, because she comes from that area! smile

Elegran Mon 01-Sept-14 18:20:59

I have PMed her to tell her that Elizabeth1 has organised two spare tickets on hold.

Elizabeth1 Mon 01-Sept-14 18:26:14

ayse would you like a ticket to see the nutcracker there are still 2 tickets held in reserve?

Elizabeth1 Thu 04-Sept-14 15:36:23

Ayse unable to come everyone - perhaps next time sad

After our debate on Sunday and impromptu visits to other places in Edinburgh for a meal after the theatre I have had a rethink. It's because I've just had a wee scan this morning at Vettrianos and I'm back in favour of going there. wine smile only if others agree. Have you seen their Christmas menu it looks fabulous? What do you think cause we'll have to get our skates on, places will soon become booked up. We could start saving now.

If there are any other GN's out there still wanting to come along there's still time to order more theatre to tickets. It'll be a fabulous Christmas extravaganza. smile

Oops who had the strong Braxen Hicks last night and has contacted their mammy to tell her to get ready.shock

Elegran Tue 09-Sept-14 08:41:56

Do you really mean Vettriano's? Or do you mean Vittoria?

Elegran Tue 09-Sept-14 08:43:55

Do you have a link to the christmas menu? I can only find the a la carte one.

Elizabeth1 Tue 09-Sept-14 08:57:52

Sorry everyone - I've got Vettríano on the brain, I worked with the woman who gave him his first paint set which led him on to where he is now. (Millionaire comes to mind) I have several of Vettrianos prints and a silk limited edition. Why? because I like them There are also many personal connections here through a variety of people because of his locality to Fife.

Anyway I digress therefore back to the business at hand (food) elegran and others I used the link to Vittoria as first suggested at the beginning. It has the Christmas menu on it.

Elegran Tue 09-Sept-14 09:17:16

Found it! It was down as Festive Menu which threw me.

janeainsworth Tue 09-Sept-14 13:18:56

What time would we be eating Elizabeth?
Would we be finished in time for me and Moomin to get the last train back to Newcastle ( I think it's 9pm)?

Elegran Tue 09-Sept-14 13:50:53

Their usual lunch menu (until 5 o'clock) and their a la carte one are good too. They also do a "half and half" - pizza plus calzione, which my son ordered when we were there. It seemed to go down well. I had the chicken Caesar , and DiL had the risotto al funghi.

Marelli Tue 09-Sept-14 14:15:23

Vittoria's menu looks very good! We should surely have finished eating in time for your train, jane? I would imagine we'd want to catch one around that time as well. Not sure about bags?

Elizabeth1 Tue 09-Sept-14 14:23:22

The Nutcracker starts at 2pm and I think it should be finished around 4-5 jane plenty of time to get the train home for everyone. I've a spare bed for anyone should they want to stay over.

thatbags Tue 09-Sept-14 17:52:46

Looks good for me too. Thanks, E1 smile

moomin Tue 09-Sept-14 22:11:34

Yes looks good - but not the Festive Menu for me, far too much food!

Elegran Wed 10-Sept-14 19:10:37

I have booked for eight at Vittoria's at 5.15 after the theatre. You said that they were keeping a couple of extra tickets for ten days in case anyone else was joining us, Elizabeth1, but those ten days have passed and it seems that there are to be eight of us.

Marelli Wed 10-Sept-14 19:49:39

Thank you, Elegran! Really looking forward to the day. smile x

moomin Wed 10-Sept-14 19:53:02

Yes thank you Elegran and Elizabeth1 - now just waiting to see if some deals come up in the near future for rail travel

Elizabeth1 Wed 10-Sept-14 22:12:10

Thanks elegran all dusted down now. I'm sure though if anyone else wants to go there will still be seats.
