Any Grans fancy a meet-up in York in the last two weeks of January? No date or venue has been arranged yet. Fridays are good for me but we can choose a date which suits most people.

Yes that would be lovely. Time and place TBA. Something to look forward to after the festivities!

Greyduster Thu 30-Nov-17 19:00:21

I would like to come, but it’s a bit early for me to make a decision yet - much will depend on the weather. Fingers crossed! ?

We hope to move house on january 20th. So wont be here for next get together.
However just wanted to say how much I enjoyed our first and for me (last ) lunch. Thanks to Old Goat for organising it.
Brenda.

Sorry not to be meeting you again, (if I manage to get there myself) Kupari but I hope your move goes well and that you’ll be very happy in your new place ??.

Hope that your move goes according to plan kupari and sorry that you won't be able to make it to any more York meet-ups but I think they do have Northumberland meet-ups too so perhaps you can join them instead?
I'm green with envy. I'd love to live near the Northumberland coast.
Nice to have met you and all the best for the future.

Hi
This is an advance notice of a possible late January meet-up in York. I'm just trying to get an idea about which days to avoid because so many of us have regular commitments.
I know that bad weather is always an issue in January especially for people like greyduster who have to travel a long way.
I'm off to see the Ice Sculpture Trail in York today with the family. The place is packed with visitors to the Christmas Market just now, but I love all the decorations and excitement.

oldgoat Sun 03-Dec-17 10:29:19

Sorry, the Ice Sculpture Trail is next week not today! !

grannyqueenie Sun 03-Dec-17 13:49:42

I’m glad it’s not just me that gets my dates muddled and the busier I am the more likely it is to happen. Think headless chicken!
I have a regular volunteering commitment on term time Wednesdays, other days vary from week to week, but I do already know that the last week in January isn’t much good for me.
Enjoy the trail, when it comes, oldgoat and thanks for trying to chase us all up, a bit like herding cats I guess!

oldgoat Sun 03-Dec-17 19:44:39

Hope we can arrange the next meet-up when you are able to join us granniequeenie I'll try to find a date that suits most people in the last but one week in January.
I have a painting class on Wednesdays so it won't be that day -unless you meet without me!

We are planning our next meet-up, with lunch, on Friday 19th January. So far there are three or possibly four of us coming but I hope lots more will decide to come along.

We haven’t chosen a venue yet. All suggestions welcome.

YORK MEET-UP UPDATE.

I am reserving a table at Côte Brasserie in Petergate for 12.30 on the 19th January. We had a good lunch there in November and it isn't difficult to adjust the numbers close to the date of the meet-up.

To date, the following Grans are planning to come:-

Artyfarty
Alygran
Ginggran (probably)
Grannyqueenie (possibly)
Greyduster (unless the weather's bad)
Morningdew
and me.

If any other Grans within commuting distance of York would like to join us, please get in touch. Everbody's welcome!

oldgoat Wed 03-Jan-18 14:42:25

Or 'everybody' even!!

Artyfarty Wed 03-Jan-18 16:58:41

That’s great, it’s in the diary. I enjoyed the lunch there last time. Please come if you can, the more the merrier!

morningdew Fri 05-Jan-18 16:03:03

I enjoyed the meeting last time and the venue , will be attending this time ..

pintogrigio Wed 10-Jan-18 17:13:37

Can’t make this one but would love to meet up sometime. New to N Yorks, well two years but it still feels new.

I am in the Harrogate area so plenty of places for ☕️ & ?

oldgoat Wed 10-Jan-18 20:14:24

Hello pintogrigio Sorry you can't make it to the meet-up this time. Perhaps we could meet in Harrogate next time. Do you have any favourite eating places that would welcome some fairly well-behaved Grans?

pintogrigio Wed 10-Jan-18 20:57:11

Plenty, Slingsby’s on Tower St, Filmore & Union to name but two but plenty of choice

oldgoat Sat 13-Jan-18 22:03:39

Not long now until the next York meet-up on Friday 19th January at Côte Brasserie in Petergate.

Please could you all confirm whether you are still planning to join us.

Any other Grans who would like to come along , please let me know as soon as possible. Everyone welcome.

oldgoat Mon 15-Jan-18 09:46:17

Thanks alygran That's three of us now. Hope the others can make it but perhaps the rough weather will put them off.

Greyduster Mon 15-Jan-18 16:11:09

Four of us. Booked my train - fingers crossed the weather is okay. Keep me a seat!
