Sorry, can't do Thursdays. Am feeling jealous though. Had the best ever fish and chips at the Tailend last December.

You could do a separate sortie, Jane10 I am sure enough people would want to join you.

I so wish I could join you, you`ve just reminded me of our visit to the Tailend a few years ago, the fish and chips were to die for!

I can make the meet-up on the 11th October Elegran but not the other date in September.
I will bring an airtight box for the smokies this time.

I think we will aim for Thursday 11th October then. Cascats has a new grandchild imminent at the moment so we may not hear back from her at once.

I've heard from Cascat and she will be there on 11th October too.

I love the Tail-End in St Andrews. I’ll see you before then though at the lunch in Edinburgh. There’s nothing like being good to oneself why? because we deserve it.

It'll be great to see you all. That will be seven - one more than the six we first thought was the best for a small place like the Tailend. Better stop there! Any more who want to come, please make up your own party for a separate trip on another day!

Well, I was hoping to come to St.Andrews but as I'm going away a couple of days later I'm willing to give up my place at the table so you have just 6. If there's another meet-up in St.Andrews I'll try to make that instead. Thanks for the invitation anyway Elegran and I'll see most of you in Edinburgh on the 28th.

When this was first mooted, there was concern that the usual fifteen plus would be rather unwieldy for the venue, so six was suggested, in the knowledge that it might annoy some people to think that it was being limited to "the few" or to some mythical "clique". However, seven is only one more than six. The Tailend won't burst at the seams. You are not to fall on your sword!
